  • I realized today that I've been hiding parts of my true self from people. The parts that my five year old self would think are the coolest part about me.
As a paralegal turned entrepreneur, I often downplay the quirky, authentic aspects of my life, like managing my misfit bloodhound or wrangling my Houdini goat named Bob.
Society tells us to be a certain way, and sometimes that makes me hold back my true story.
But I've learned that embracing who we are, quirks and all, is what truly connects us with others.
If you're a freelance paralegal, don't hide-authenticity wins every time.

Hi. I'm returning to the legal field after having a different type business for a while. A recruiter told me today that law firms no longer use temps. Is this true? I am a litigation legal assistant and years ago I was in high demand. How would you resharpen your skills if you cannot do temp work in your area? I have a paralegal certificate but that was from years ago. I stayed in the legal field 20 years. I am thinking that I want to pursue becoming a virtual legal assistant or paralegal but I am just not sure.
