McDonald’s cares more about their shareholders than their customers which is why they charge dollars for a medium soft drink which costs them a nickel to make.
I don't go to fast-food places because they stopped serving reasonable costing foods. Taco-Bell was the last standing, but they stopped having a dollar menu about 2-3 years ago. Wendy's may still have a cookie option. Don't buy fast food. Its cheaper to just go to a grocery store and buy the parts. A Bologna, cheese, and lettuce sandwich on white bread or like 50cents. A frozen pizza is around 1/4th of the cost of pizza places. I do miss that fast food used to be a cheap option. Dining in was something we as friends and family did to be social. Pizza delivery was a gift shared between people.
What happened? Inflation; simple as that. I have been running an online bakery for the past 14 years and my prices are definitely not the same as they were back then.
Does anybody remember Dairy Queen or DQ for short, sweet deals. Back in 2009-2012. 9 different food choices. It was any 2 items for $3.00 and 3 items for $4.00 or 4 items for $5.00
The dollar drink menu was still around last summer in Idaho and TX. I hope it comes back again this year. Any size for a dollar is a good deal. We'll see.
Dollar menus got me actually spending more then i would otherwise i loved sonic drive in 9 items for one dollar! Too bad i live in hawaii so we dont get those lovely prices
Instead of taking a hit to profit when minimum wage increases, Corporate America passes it on to the consumer, every time. We need "maximum profit over operating costs". If they could be trusted, we wouldn't need a "minimum wage". Best case, "Maximum profit over operating costs" would force them to pay employees better(operating costs) for them to make more money. Worst case, it would force them to drop consumer prices. It's a win/win for everyone except those greedy folks at the top.
California raised the minimum wage to $20 an hour... so of course McDonald's doesn't want to LOSE MONEY...if they lose money, HOW can they stay in business... so they HAD to raise the price of the food they serve...yeah...suppliers want their money, utility companies still want their money, repairmen...to fix the ice cream machine...they still want to be paid... the gap between $15 an hour and $20 an hour has to be filled somewhere....
Some employees dont deserve 15 an hr, much less 20. Min wage will always be zero even if gov forces min wages. Now theres less employees doing more work with less hrs. Now unskilled workers just wanting a temp job are homeless.
Dollar deals are great in theory but they never really make money for the company. The thought is, you’ll spend more once you got inside the store but we, the consumer, didn’t lol
In Canada, KFC had Toonie Tuesdays back in the late 90s and early 2000s. It consisted of 2 pieces of chicken, fries, gravy and macaroni salad, or a chicken sandwich for a Toonie (2 bucks). I believe they brought it back in 2023 for 2.99$ without the option of the chicken sandwich.

@shawneyatrics Definitely! Fair pricing should be a priority for all businesses.
That's what I've been asking? Where have
the $1 deals disappeared to? Sigh! 🍔🍟
@JaneDoe-ov1hb Those $1 deals were too good to let go. 🤷♂️🍔
Inflation, it's called inflation.
@fractuss Yep, inflation affects us all! It's a constant struggle. 😔
Greed.

@COMPFUNK2 Makes sense! Inflation impacts the prices of goods and services. 🙃
Online bakery? Do I download my bread?
Greed happened. End of story.
As a worker I can say we still have the loose change menu at Maccas Aus
Please bring back the double cheeseburger for a dollar

I remember getting the dollar menu items when i was in high school
@renamon5658 Same here! The dollar menu was a lifesaver during high school. 🤍
Stop eating at fast food restaurants and show them we will not accept high prices.
@jeremytimko9990 100%! It's time to say no to overpriced fast food and demand affordability. 🙌😎

@cherrypink1108 I remember those days! The dollar drink menu was a game-changer. Excited to see if it returns!

The dollar menu even if it says 1 2 3 add a little bit of extra change Is still affordable😅🤷♀️
@kleine.5438 Exactly! Even with a bit of extra change, the dollar menu is still budget-friendly. ✔️
I rarely go to McDonald’s; but the last time I checked, they still had the one dollar any size beverages.
Not where I am,NO $1 fountain drinks any longer,not for a while
@COMPFUNK2 Nice! The one dollar any size drinks are a steal! 💰🥤
Stop over paying their blatant doubling and Tripling for their junk. Il the cheap menus will come back when it hits their over profited pockets
@hbgriss Exactly! Hopefully, they'll reconsider their pricing strategies soon. 🤞✔️
McDonald's value menu burgers and fries are smaller than the regular menu items.😢. ✌🏼❤️🍷
@smoothmorrison7203 I've noticed that too. Sometimes you just need that extra bite!
I'm still waiting for the 99 cent Whopper to come back.
@masudaharris6435 The 99 cent Whopper was a legendary deal. Bring it back soon😁

@RipWraith I Agree! Corporations need to prioritize fair wages and consumer affordability. 🎯
Our McDonald's still has the $1 any size drink deal
@kennethgreggs5903 Awesome news! Keeping the $1 any size drink deal is definitely a win for customers. 🙌

@ByronMotley Exactly! Businesses need to adjust to meet rising costs while still providing fair wages. 💸

@MrSincerity88 Sometimes those deals don't translate to extra spending. 💸😅
They don't get us the people coming there for cheap in the first place
Duuuuh, I work there
Overpriced trash, btw McDonald’s only gives 2 coupons per pamphlet now which is sad coming from the richest company
All of the coupons and deals are in the app. Get with the times gramps.
@dillondaboss5263 Agreed! It's disappointing when prices don't match up with quality. 🤷♂️🥺
This used to be fast and cheap, it's no longer fast and cheap, so i don't go there
Dang iam late 😂great work babble 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

@RealBigBadJohn Especially for those large McCafes! 🙏☕
