    Keyboard is not only about Physical Keys and Switches. It is also about Software Quality and Battery Life (especially with Wireless). There is no point of buying ultra level keyboard which will cost 250$+ if it does not have proper software and OS support. With wireless keyboard it is even more important, because I do not want to lose connection, have lags and etc. In case of Mac, Logitech is the only known brand that makes proper keyboards for Mac, you may easily find worldwide. Even original Apple Keyboards with ISO garbage (they sell everywhere except USA), is not that good with low profile. I personally use Steel Series for PC, but for Mac I got this one, even though i have Touch ID Keyboard in Mini Form-factor. I got mine for 110$ (shipping included).

    I've got the Nuphy Air75 with brown switches and I absolutely love the keyboard just like everyone else. BUT, their support is by far the worst I've had. I sent an email to them, did not get a response for a week so I emailed them again, got a response after a few days, and they did not even answer my question. I had to do plenty of back and forth, clearly stating that I'm on Mac, yet they told me to find a windows computer to solve my issue which was updating the firmware to make my receiver work with my Mac. Keep this in mind if you are purchasing this for the Mac.

    • @semiprotech
      @semiprotech  Год назад +2

      Sorry to hear about the support issue you had, and I do agree the console software needs work (and a Mac version). It didn't happen to me with the Air75, but with the Halo65 I had a similar issue where I needed to update the firmware and had to use a Windows machine to do it. I hadn't turned on my old Windows desktop in over a year but I had to resurrect it just to use NuPhy console.

    Excellent comparison, mate! I finally bought the NuPhy Air60 after several unpleasant experiences with some Keychrons (K3, S1, K7 Pro). My biggest gripes were the awful Bluetooth connectivity with Windows and poor battery life. All 3 Keychrons had the same problems. I've got an MX Keys Mini that's been a solid performer, but I still prefer mechanical switches. The MX Mech Mini is just too pricey for how little it offers. I've heard nothing but good things about NuPhy, so am pretty psyched about getting my hands on the Air60.

      @@rodrod6767 The S1 was the best of the 3 Keychrons I tried. However, it's wired only so I couldn't use it with my MacBook Air M2 or iPad Pro M1. Also, the S1 doesn't have flip down feet to raise the back of the keyboard to a more comfortable typing angle. Instead, it has a pair of rubber risers that plug into the bottom right/left corners. Typing on the S1 was a pleasure, so if my criticisms don't matter, you might find it a good keyboard.

    Aside from other issues like swapping the switches, I don't understand why you would limit yourself to the Mac version of the Logitech keyboard.... The regular version has double labeling of the keycaps while the keyboard auto-detects the used OS and it also comes with the 2.4g USB dongle. I am a Mac only user, I have no Windows systems and only have Raspberry Pi's and a SteamDeck as additional machines if the keyboard would be used with anything other than a Mac. I also own several other keyboards that I bought myself and haven't made reviews about yet. I signed up for the NuPhy affiliate program because I believe in their products and affiliate commission is a viable way to get some return on the hours (like, dozens of hours) that these videos take to make when you're a one-person channel. NuPhy offered to send me the Halo75 and Air60 after seeing my videos, so those two were sent to me for review which I state at the beginning of the videos (Air60 review coming soon). Making a keyboard with backlight and solid key caps just doesn't make any sense. Well, for me the backlight is not really required, but what about the battery life then? Why is it so short compared to logi? Does it not sleep, does it always on and have no lag when you press a key after long inactivity? If that is the case I'm willing to give it a go, but if it still has this "wake-up lag" then there is no point.

    Omph. NuPhy's battery seems a bit light for a $130 keyboard. And the light doesn't shine through? Then why bother with the light at all?
    The mini's aesthetics is geared for adults whereas the NuPhy's look is ... well ... not.
    The NuPhy certainly "sounds" better though I always hope for silence. Maybe someday one of these companies will produce a silent mechanical.

      They’ve got a set of shine-through keycaps you can purchase separately.

      Normally, with a regular mechanical keyboards, there are many options for more silent switches and you can swap them out easily. For example, Durock Silent Linear switches are popular silent switches. With low-profile switches, there aren't as many alternative options, but going with linear switch alone will reduce the among of noise. NuPhy has a switch called Aloe which is a low travel linear switch and you can order the keyboard with that switch preinstalled rather than the Gateron Brown 2.0 in this video. They will be more quiet. That's the beauty of many mechanical keyboards, you can fine tune the typing experience with the many different switches available. With the Logitech, you are stuck with what you get. It's not just the sound that the Logitech switches fall behind on, the scratchy sound is because the key stem doesn't depress as smoothly, you can really feel the difference side by side.
      If shine through keys are desirable, NuPhy does offer an optional set of mostly black backlit keycaps, but it's not offered as a preinstalled option. They still stick to their "fun" colors for the spacebar and enter keys.
      I have a lot of Logitech things, but their keyboards are behind the times.
