Plus, I think Matt has a better stage presence, which might just be due to the fact that he moves around stage more because he doesn't play an instrument.

Exactly Christopher! And I truly think that Adam is now paying the price for that distinctive voice. Live shows he is really hit and miss anymore as to the vocal quality. Hard to maintain that kind of intensity over the long haul. Matt grits it up now and then on certain songs. But not constantly. If you go back to Feb 1 and look at The High Road live and then look at the same song from this past week, you'll see that he has maintained the melodic integrity of the song.
I think it´s better than Adam at the Moment. Listen to him now, he is far away from what he was. Matt has a softer Voice what sounds different to Adam but i think he is doing real fine.

Some songs are just too much of Adam. Though some songs do suit Matt's vocals - Home for example Anyway I like Saint Asonia too. If Adam hadn't left there'd be no Saint Asonia.
Matt doesn't have the same kind of grit as Adam. TDG's songs were made FOR a gritty voice and as a musician it's hard to sound good and have grit at the same time, let alone having to hit the right vocal while using grit. Matt isn't bad, just not as "gritty" as Adam?

However, he departed because he felt as though the last few songs, specifically those on Transit of Venus, were all forced and not genuine or meaningful.
