Just a bit of advice, if you want, First go through at least 4-5 chords and not just 1, like C major, e minor, f major, g major and d major/minor, you can remember it by the word and serial 'CAGED' and practice them for at least a month or two with different combinations of chords and strums. After that, you are ready to sing with the guitar but you have to practice it too. You can't just become good at singing with guitar, it takes time, like at least a week. First start with 1 song only, then change strum patterns and songs. The whole thing will take at least 2 months bcz it will make you efficient with chords, strums, tempo, pitch etc.
It's takes 4 years instead of 4 days So keep practicing I'm going through this stages tooo But when you get it Then ..... it's guitar bro and you can sing So.....🤫

Being a Guitar Instructor, I would suggest that you never go to learn Chords directly, start practicing exercises, lead songs and scales to make your fingers comfortable, then go for chords.

But I can play chords and sing songs. And also I can play guitar solos. Ofcourse I did finger exercises later on. But definitely not in the initial month. Different approaches can work.
