- Relive the final 37 minutes of a wild race from Pocono. One lucky win for Jeff at Pocono could not come at a better time with the chase approaching and the wild card up for grabs.
RIP to the fan that pasted away this weekend from a lightning strike. - Спорт
RIP to the fan who lost their life during that thunderstorm
Jeff may very well have won this race anyway, based on how quickly he drove to the front in half the race. He had an awesome car.
Yeah, his car was able to pass, was faster than these guys. Only reason he was mired back was some mishaps, and untimely cautions
This was on my birthday. One of the best birthday gifts ever, your favorite driver wins on your 16th birthday! :)
Just watched this again. It's the week before the August Pennsylvania race in 2015 right now, and I'm just gonna watch this over and over this whole week because this is one of my all-time favorite wins. It's sad to see Jeff retire, but at the same time he's given us so many great moments (like this race) to remember. Go get em again #Team24!!!
I can't believe this the first race I went too. It was so disappointing to have it end in rain
No it was awsome
Yeah even worse......a fan getting killed by lightning
In fact, Jeff Gordon won this past Saturday's race at Kansas. (his 89th win overall) While I doubt that he can get to 200 wins, I think he would most likely get at least 90 wins before his career comes to an end. Which he has 1 more win to go for that. Will Jeff Gordon get 100 wins? Only time will tell.
I've been a Jeff Gordon fan for my whole life and want him to own all the records, but he nor anyone else will ever get to 200 wins. The competition is too strong today for that to happen. As far as 100. I definitely think it is possible.
Ravenphan20 Not only is the competition stronger, but they also don't have over 70 races a year like they used to.
Man Jeff should’ve won it all that year.
He ended his career with 93 pretty close to 100 wins.
With Gordon's talent and the ability to continue racing and considering how he has won at least one race every year of his career since 1993 he could easily get 120 wins
He needs to win 5 more this year
Gordon didn't win an Sprint Cup race in 1993, 2008, and 2010. Aside from those years, yes he has won at least 1 Sprint Cup race..
He aslo didn't win in 2008 nor 2010
Stephen Holloway technically he did win in 1993 as he's the only rookie in the modern era to win a Daytona Qualifier
Yeah but that was a non points event.

Can you upload Jeff's comeback from 1 lap down in 21th to 2nd to get a spot in the chase?
I remember hearing that a fan was struck by lightning and killed, while leaving the race track. Sad :(
who cares
I'm sure their family and friends do
a wow, your selfish
a dickhead
nate smith
all i care is that gordon won!!!
How do you rig a NASCAR race? Just curious.
I like how you say Jeff is overrated and the drivers that you mentioned being better than him are some of the greatest drivers this sport has ever had lol. I think Jeff is better than DW, Lee Petty, and Bobby Allison. Jeff is in the same category to me as Dale Earnhardt whether you like that statement or not, because when Jeff won his 3 of his 4 titles it came when Dale was still alive in his prime.
Man would I love to see this happen this week at Pocono!!! GO # 24!!!!!!
Where did Jeff Gordon started?
I remember missing this race to go see the Mahoney Brothers at Knoebels, which is about an hour from Pocono Raceway. It rained there pretty well for a while, but we still had a good time and I was pleasantly surprised when I checked my phone and saw that Jeff won
I was at that race stuck underneath the grandstands area in the pouring rain it was absolutely 100 percent miserable! Lighting was unbelievable but i mean the rain was coming down literally in buckets it would not stop ! It was nuts !
My fav racer! Hopefully he wins the daytona!!
@Joshua Phillips
If Jeff maintains the tenacity he had at Bristol, Atlanta, and Richmond, then he can definitely win his fifth. I loved watching him these past 3 races. Really restored my faith in him. These past five years have been rough.
Who is the lady standing next to Jeff at 35:27?
mark martin is how old ?
I remember being at this race and this track for the 4th time in my life and while it was a fun race, me being stuck in a thunderstorm was hands down the worst experience ever.
Spot on! Lose with class rather than win like an ass. Thats why I'm a Jeff Gordon fan. He cleanly beat kyle into the chase and has been consistently finishing in the top 3 and staying positive, He will win again this year eventually cause this 24 team is back in their game!
That was a gorgeous car.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family
I love JG. He is by far my favorite driver & athlete, but I seriously DOUBT he will race for another 10 years. I wish he could, but it's unlikely. He noted it this year that competitiveness & sponsorship will decide his racing fate.
He is extremely competitive (he ran well enough to win the title this year, just had terrible luck). Sponsorship from DuPont & Drive to End Hunger will really determine how long he races. I honestly think he has 3 to 5 years left. He could get to 100 in that time.
I was there! i love POCONO, my fav track! go 14 :)
me too!! that would be awesome!!
I totally agree, it looks like it drives similar to the old car of the 2000s.
Did anyone see the race at Homestead, Jeff grabbed his 87th win after that race at Phoenix where he and Bowyer went at it, great job for Jeff to end the season with a win, and Great Job for Keselowski for beating Johnson in the Championship standings
THANK YOU! some people cant come off their fanboy cloud to face reality
Jimmie is a hell of a wheelman what a save !!!
Rip brian zimmerman.. #1 nascar fan.
He and Kasey are currently the wild cards. If Jeff can score more wins or top 5's these next few races, Expect Jeff to be in the chase :)
The motivation hasnt gone away and what happened at Atlanta is something called class and respect yea Jeff could have taken the easy and drity route and wrecked or moved Hamlin but he decided to race him clean
sad thing is... is that someone died at this race .... rip.. guy
lol
And the crowd goes wild!
who's jeff gordan? and what makes you think that.
There is still Richmond but Atlanta was one that got away.
whats the song at 20:31
Playboi Carti - Pissy Pamper
The new styled cars will be a blessing for us. He's struggled with this type of car.
Never noticed it before, but it looked like it was already drizzling after Kurt hit the wall. Maybe the track was still pretty damp for those first four to lose it like that.
i fail to see how these people can think gordon will get 160 wins... hes 20 years into a career that has not even 90... and despite me being a huge gordon fan it cant be denied he is slowing down a bit... id say another 20 wins is the absolute Max he will accomplish before he hangs it up...but man i would really love to see win #100
Let's go Jeff!!! 3 wins in a row possibly with the glen next and then Bristol
amen brother!!! :D
It was actually the day after, but yes, he won on his birthday weekend.
You jinxed it bro ;) sooo close!
HE MADE IT!
Waiting on the update for #87. One more track checked off the list for Jeff. Unlike in the past when JJ & Tony waited on the backstretch to let the winner celebrate, the 2 car couldn't wait and they never really showed the burnout for the 24. Bummer.
Likewise
i think at least 3 this year i am hoping but id like to see him win a championship
GO 24 GO!!!!!
Hell ya bro!!!!!!!!!!
Especially with how closely competitive the cars are anymore. Hell, nobody's gotten more than 5 wins the past two years, and the last time anybody got wins in the double digits for the season is Jeff back in 1998 when he set the modern-era record for most wins in a single year.
I was there, and it was incredible.
Also, for all the Jimmie haters saying he was full of BS in saying his RR tire was going down - 5:40 pretty much tells the tale. It's wrinkling up as he's weaving back and forth, and it was definitely going down.
I know, but I was sitting in the turn 3 area, no rain. Rain comes from Turn 3 and works it way across the track to turn 1. There was no rain they could have went back green
dude, just drop it. you gettin' anywhere with this?
Point is whatever it took to get him to race the way he did at Atlanta and Richmond needs to be his mindset every week.
3:54 Greg Ives sighting
That chance slipped away at Atlanta
agree gordonfan200. tire build up can also make the drivers feel like they have flat just like how keselowski drove up the track at indy
Take it any way you get it
People need to stop complaining about the chase its here to stay fans and drivers need to adapt.
yay! Jeff won at Homested!
Just like to point out that after Keselowski won this race last year he was 18th in points, after Richmond he was 11th. Jeff's in 13th now, it's not out of the question that he can race into the top 10. Tough, but doable.
"We'll come inside the ESPN Pit Studio where you get the pleasure at looking at the four of us..."
If we're not counting Rusty, Brad, or Andy, then yes, the four of you are a pleasure to look at.
Ray* not Andy
I do believe Jeff could easily get to 100 wins. In the 10 or so years that he has left in him, he could definitely pull of at least two 5 win seasons, which would pull him up to 96 wins then all he would need is 4 more wins. It could be a stretch, but I think he can pull it off and hopefully with at least 1 more championship.
If these first five races are any indication of the rest of his year, Im hoping for at least a few top 5's...
Dont forget it took a good 2-3 laps and about 10 minutes to clean up the mess from the crash then it started raining in turn 3. remember Pocono is huge it might have been dry where you where sitting but on the back or turn 2 it could be raining.
ya but I wasnt talking about wins, I was talking about making it on points If jeff wins tomorrow he still needs to make sure Kyle doesnt win at Richmond a track were Kyle has dominated the past 2-3 years.
As big of a Jeff Gordon fan that I am at this rate Jeff wont get to 100 he has about 8-10 years left in him but he has only 5 races in the last 5 years he needs more than that to get to 100 I say he will get to about 90-95 I sure hope he can get more.
and he still got in the chase, win win situation, hamlin wins, jeff's in the chase the next race
R.I.P for that man that got struck by lightning.
Brian Franklin Zimmerman (March 26, 1971 - August 5, 2012)
and if you wanna get technical gordon is the king, he won more races then any current sprint cup driver!
True, but it honestly didn't look like the tire that he said was flat actually was flat.
I would just like to see the sun at Pocono. Every race is damp and dreary.
Rainbowarriors24 There is no doubt in my mind that by the time Jeff Gordon retires he will have at least 100 wins, 90 definitely, nobody will achieve 200 wins. Besides, the guy is 41 years old, in great shape, loves to race, and I think is capable of hitting the 100 win club and possibly passing David Pearson for 2nd on the all-time wins list. One race I hope he wins now is the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway in June. If he does that, he will have won on every track on the circuit!
i was happy to see Jeff finally win, but then i heard about 9 fans was struck by lightning, one was killed and one is in critical condition, and when Jimmie, Matt, and Brad got together and saw Jeff took the lead, i was like, "WHOA JEFF'S IN THE LEAD", then the rain came then they called the race, i was jumping up and down when he finally won, after all that bad luck he had earlier, i think that his bad luck, is finally left the building
TODAY, Jeff will win again
yea, at the beginning of the year he had fast cars, but not good results. lately he's been having 2nd place finishes, basically top-5's,(except Chicago) so yea i agree other drivers watch out
point
wow it was pouring
Good for you move along now.
thats not a race win therefore im not uploading it.
6:09 I remember screaming watching it live, I am a gordon fan.
No body will ever break that record of 200 cup series wins. That is a grossly inflated win total. You have to remember that Petty raced in a totally different error than today's drivers.
Throw in Watkins Glenn 2007...ugh
If he goes 10 more years, I could see him finishing 2nd all-time
I'm feeling like a nascar pro, after playing nascar the game inside lane. haha :D
28:12 - Andy Petree's reaction to the lightning...LOL
That's probably the strike that killed the fan. It was said it happened while Gordon was going to victory lane.
Brian Franklin Zimmerman (March 26, 1971 - August 5, 2012)
WOOT JEFF WON!!!!!!! YEAH!!! ON HIS BIRTHDAY :D
The Drive For Five: It's Still Alive.
Yeah, the media is already counting him out, but they did the same with the Chase, so I'm done listening to what the media says about Jeff Gordon. 2012 is still a possibility. He was running for a solid finish at Chicago and Jeff said they messed up some part on the part and they won't do it again, so I think lady luck will spare him. He got 3rd (or 4th?) at New Hampshire. We just gotta hope he can keep making those finishes. The guys on the top of the standings will make a mistake eventually.
I know he won't beat the 200 wins, but I meant if he focus on trying to break the record book maybe he would win more and that would lead to another championship.
You think Jeff isnt focused?! what do u think he goes out on the track and thinks about whats for dinner that night? of course he still is focused on winning and getting championships the competition has just gotten a lot harder now a days there is 15-25 drivers that can easily win any weekend back when Jeff had sucess in the 90's the strong drivers where only about 10-15 Jeff hasnt lost any focus since he first stepped into that dupont #24 in 1993
man that sprint girl in victory lane was fine!
nope he had a flat said it over and over agian on the team radio and tv
Yeah I would say Jeff Gordon will finish his racing career anywhere between 95-100wins.
He did have a flat he said it over and over agian under caution he felt something weird on his tires and tried to shake it off thought he did then he got into turn one and boom takes out a few guys I never said it was the RR it could have been the LF
I wish this race would have been during the chase.
