So this video starts after he's captured by Nico and taken back into Dema, which is the city he's in In this song he tries to escape the city again after his banditos come to help him out Nico and the Niners are the nine bishops in the red robes who rule the city - they try to control the citizens of Dema and don't let them think for themselves The whole world is basically a metaphor for the mind...escaping Dema means escaping/beatinf your negative thoughts, etc and thinking for yourself At the end they break out of Dema and so Levitate starts when they're out in Trench - which is the continent where Dema is located and where these banditos live - you will see how confident he is after escaping Dema (beating his negative thoughts) This album is mostly about trying to escape this place of Dema - Clancy (and Paladin Strait) is basically the realization that you can't escape the bad thoughts, you have to face them and defeat them What's also wild is when this was released they had just put out 3 of the hugest hits of the 2010s and were on top of the music world...their first 3 singles of this album were all about the story for their fans and nothing for the mainstream
in their channel, they have a playlist with the videos in lore order, you guys can look there too to see what's next. enjoying ur TOP reactions so far, another reaction channel to begin their journey, looking forward to it!
enjoying your journey with these guys. i love the rap part in this. the line 'we'll win but not everyone will get out', hits hard, not everyone survives their mental health struggles. Tyler is trapped in the city of Dema again (after Nico caught him in the previous video) under the control of the Bishops, and the rebel group called Banditos, led by the Torchbearer -Josh, are sneaking into the city to help him escape by going underground. The Bishops enforce a religion called Vialism that encourages people to take their own life, so they can 'seize', or control, their dead body. There are some reversed vocals at the start of the song that say 'We are Banditos. we renounce Vialism. we will leave Dema and head true east'.
This song and video are SO insanely good, and still hold up. Nobody does it like TOP, truly! It looks like other commenters have already given a pretty good rundown of what's happening in the video already, so i'll just say that i'm so excited for you to continue your journey through the lore! Levitate is the next one up in the order, and it's a doozy, so this should be fun! ❤
AWESOME reaction guys! You guys have such a fun energy! I love your reactions to 21 Pilots and Ren! If you like a "multi-genre" band, you should DEFINITELY react to Sleep Token's, " Take Me Back To Eden"!
Always love your TOP reactions but off topic I have Level Up on my playlist because you guys insert bits of your music in these reactions. So keep up with TOP and with giving us tastes of your own music. ✌🏻
I wish you had a playlist so I could watch your previous reactions to them. And others. The ones you've got are not very specific. Hugs from old lady in Sweden.

That handshake was first seen in the music video for Stressed Out, in case you want to check out that song too. Probably their biggest song

They were putting yellow tape on Tyler because the Bishops can’t see the color yellow, so the Banditos use it to recognize each other.
