    Hello , great video. Can you tell me what is the correct pressure to move wastegate in volvo s60 2.4 T 2000 year. And what should be the correct pressure turbo in this model. In my car is about 2 psi and I think it's not enough

  • @raiderman28
    @raiderman28 8 лет назад +2

    I think you can use a standard vacuum pump with a Gauge to do the same thing

    the TD04 turbo's on the Volvo's tend to develop cracks in the wastegate port. This hurts spool-up. Could you compensate for that by adding more WG-preload??
    (i suppose the values in the list at the end of this video are meant to be used on brand new turbo's, right?)

    Is this for the tdo4l-12t and if so what is the standard actuator psi rating

  • @eamh2002
    @eamh2002 12 лет назад

    Also, should the car have some difference when the wastegate actuator pressure hose is off?
    We couldn't feel or see ANY difference in boost pressure with the hose or wihout it..
    The boost is 0,8bar at 3500 to 5000rpm

    No wastegate setting on the chart at the end of the video for a 2004 2.5T, B5254T4 engine... I think it's supposed to be 1.8 psi, but not totally sure. There should be an update to this video for that. :)

    @SupraTompan If you are setting your wastegate at .3 bar... that is approximately 4.5lbs... call us a 800-444-6473 and a rep can work this out with you

    I have a '98 volvo s70 t5, every time my turbo spools up and runs on a hard acceleration, I hear a hissing air leak sound until the higher rpms. I'm wondering if the hissing could be the wastegate not being fully closed at the beginning of the boost. I replaced a lot of the turbo boost lines, I don't have a boost gauge so I'm not sure if it's exactly the turbo. Help if you can please, thanks.

    I just finished adjusting the wastegate, but I think I may have ruined some diaphragm inside the wastegate. When I went to loosen the nut, I spun the rod. Once I realized it, I clamped it down and loosen the nut. I was able to see the rod move as I applied pressure and adjusted the length to 4 psi. However, I just read that if you spin the rod you destroyed the diaphragm inside. Is that true? Did I just screw myself?

    Hmm, we couldn't pull that heatshield off from my friends 1995 850 T5..
    There was no room, only could slide it towards the right side so the actuator arm was visible :)
    Any tips on getting the locknut off the adjuster? An open end wrench is only good for rounding up those nut edges, should I use a brake line wrench with 6 corners?

    I just put a boost gauge in my 01 s40 2.0t it reads from 7-14 lbs of boost depending on how much im in the gas, just wondering if is should be consistent or are those numbers ok

    • @IPDTheVolvoSpecialists
      @IPDTheVolvoSpecialists  5 лет назад

      The level of gas you have won't interfere with boost. Instead, you'll want to check your CBV and TCV. Make sure the vacuum lines are correctly routed.
