I understand what you're saying, that is why I personally supervise loading and off-loading procedures. But with nice trucks like these, good insurance policies are important.

It is the sound of an internal combustion engine. How is it possible that it is so pleasant to a human ear? In supercars they are able to adjust sound by exhoust valves and stuff but this is Scania diesel and I'm going cross eyed everytime i hear one.

I'm not a driver myself, but as far as i know, its because of tire wear-reduce. Also gas milage, because you have less friction with the road.
The wheel is down when loaded, so spread the weight of the load over 6 wheels instead of 4.

I use to drive Cab overs in the states years ago, you don't see them anymore on the road, only museums, and truck shows, I still like the looks of them, but they would beat the hell out of your body, sitting right on top of the steer wheels.

you know here we got a little bit more historic cities (often 1000 to 2000 years old), with damn tight roads in the center. With big trucks you simply would not fit through and getting around corners would be a problem as well. And not just in the city centers, but e.g. also in the Scandes, especially on the norwegian mountain roads, you wouldn't get far with a big truck, not because of missing power but because of the size and turning radius

Best ten minutes I've ever spent on RUclips. Awesome video. I noticed a couple of straight piped DAFs in there as well, sounded pretty sweet!
It also helps to increase load capacity, in Europe 40 - 44 tons is normaly the max allowed weight, and it all depend on how many axels you got and their rated capacity. In Sweden we have 60 tons and some trucks pull 80 - 90 tons but thats still in a test phase, wont be a common thing on the roads here in years. Those trucks are 30 - 32 meters long instead of 18.75 or 25.25 meters. All in an effort to reduce fuel cost and enviormental impact.

it can be lowered as needed based on how the vehicle is loaded, or when 'bobtailing' (driving with no trailer attached) it can be raised to reduce rolling friction/resistance thus aiding fuel efficiency

Great video, awesome trucks, you really go all out 2 Bling up your Trucks, don't usually see lazy axles on prime movers here in Australia. But we 2 have a lot of really tricked out trucks as well like u have over there. All the Scania's looked real cool.Cheers
