in my theatre class, my teacher said that the woods represent "Reality".
and when these fairy tale characters enter reality, they realize that things aren't always "happyily ever after".
That's funny - the Baker's Wife's song seems to be saying the exact opposite - that the woods aren't the "real world" but a place where you temporarily find anything possible, and when she says "time to leave the woods" she's going back to reality.
"I hope the giant...steps on them all!"
I love Little Red Riding Hood. she's one of my favorite characters.
My goodness, Joanna Gleason is amazing! So is Chip, and the entire cast... They are incredible. I love Joanna's solo in this section, though. She is the perfect baker's wife.
"Anything can happen in the woods - may I kiss you?" I'd be like WTF?!

LOL, I think I heard some people booing the prince when he said "How alive you've made me feel" and I find that very funny xD
That argument between the baker and his wife is so sad after knowing that's their last conversation. . . .*sniffle* All my favorites die! 1, 2, 3. . .you name it!

I think so. One of my voice teachers has it, but I don't know if it was just some really nice version he got lucky and found.
She's not necessarily sympathizing the THE wolf, just ANY given wolf, since wolves are considered evil and are often killed.

the baker definitely has the most annoying voice in the production. it's shriek-y and wavy and loud. i cringe every time he opens his mouth
