WonderfulLizardOfOz my hs did into the woods this year and a senior auditioned to be milky white.
In the production I did, we had a boy play the cow, and he happened to be the only young boy in the program. The next year, we did Mary poppins and he was Michael Banks. He went from saying moo to having a whole script of lines 😂 Let’s just say tech week was stressful for him 😂

this is a fucking high quality school production. half the school budget must've gone to this.
I was a sound technician for this show. And no, we barley had any funding. The directors used their own money and we had some very generous donors. Martin HS has a good program and they get very little for what they do.

Max Ponsonby Right? lol hella too quality ass production for a high school. Naw but I went to skyline high school, where Tom Hanks graduated, and was part of the theatre department and even though our school was ghetto af we still pulled together some kick ass productions!
Max Ponsonby actually we only get $800 a year and do five shows a year, we build and sew everything ourselves, do all we can to save money, and pray that we will sell enough tickets to cover the show cost.

I wish in my high school we could have plays/musicals to this coordination and caliber. (Heck, we don't even do musicals). This version of Into the Woods is amazing.

Hahaha story time! I watched this back in May preparing for auditions in July, okay. I was like okay, I know I can't memorize lines so we'll go for a kinda smaller role, Little Red. Didn't get it. Got Sleeping Beauty. Was only called to about 3 rehearsals. Anyways now flashforward to last Wednesday during tech week I got a text asking to be the bakers wife understudy because ours was in the hospital. in the end i learn all the lines in a day and the whole role in 4 and went on Sunday. Never doubt yourselves!!

So you've never watched the original Broadway cast video? Or, I suppose that one could be considered more sexually tinged, but arguably less creepy than Johnny Depp's. Anyway, I much prefer when the same actor plays Cinderella's Prince and the Wolf. I was a bit disappointed with what they did with the Wolf in the movie.

The baker's wife was definitely my favorite in this production. Such clear talent! Her acting was so spot on and she's a beautiful singer.

Hands down one of the best high school performances of ANYTHING I'e ever seen. Literally had to check half way through to see if it was college or high school, and was pleasantly surprised that it was high school. Very well done to the entire cast.
My six year old daughter loves watching this production on youtube. I had no idea this wasn't a professional troupe until recently, and was surprised to see that it was a high school doing Sondheim! Great job to the cast--they quite talented, and I am impressed that they are all so young.

I am a judge for high school theater productions. Happen to fall into this production and thoroughly enjoyed it! No matter what anyone says (because everyone is a critic, even if they have no background to be qualified) it's really great that theater is alive and well.
The girl playing the baker's wife sounds just like Barrett Wilbert Weed and I love it, I want to see her play Veronica in Heathers.

the most important person in into the woods is the baker but the one that makes the play good is the witch
It all depends on who is cast for the right role, a perfect jack might make a terrible baker
Logan Kushner The Witch is actually the key role in the musical. If you see in most musicals, the witch's actress is listed first.

Wow this is probably the best high school performance I've see of this. The acting was exceptional, the singing was fantastic, and the orchestra was perfect. There were a few messed up bits but overall it was good. My favorite actors were probably the princes, the Baker and the Baker's Wife (who I totally have a crush on >.>)

Cinderella had some good moments, but the director should have told her that her constant arm movements are distracting.
She also needs some serious breath support management
Well for the bird moment, she had to use hand movements. That's what's written in the script.
I personally loved the arm movements.

The Witch's Lament was incredibly touching and the best I've seen in a version of Into the Woods. I love how it went to another level and interacted all the mothers (Cinderella's Stepmother, The Baker's Wife) into the song. And it almost showed like a new good side to the witch, of how to take and appreciate your children.
Overal, fantastic job to everyone : )
Exactly that was one of my favorite parts that is a powerful part showing how Rapunzel's death affected her

A very good show with very talented actors and actresses. Seriously, I remember doing my own High School Production of Into the Woods and I was proud of my own crew. Still, it's very awesome to see the work of other schools do what my own did. Sometimes, I wonder how it would be to have two schools performing the same musical on opposite sides of a theatre. That would be something new if not inspiring. There'd be no rivalry, only fun; as it always goes with a musical production.
That would be neat! Or if they mixed the cast and made one awesome production!

AnK productions Ha ha, nice! Jack's mother was a bit interesting, always berating him and all. Then he got gold and she was like, "Oh, you did everything right." Lol. Not when the giantess came. I was in fact the baker collecting the items for the witch. Yep, I had a key part. Best part for me was, "What kind of hunter are you?" "I'm a baker!" xD

The oldest person on stage is 18 in this and the youngest, the narrator was 14 or 15 at the time.
The new movie brought me here. I love how they did the new movie.. Its great. This is good for high school students. I didnt know that this was an original screen play. They did good doing the new version. Very good job production and the new actors. :)...

Honestly, 2:04:38 is probably the best part in this whole play, in the movie even. I watched this whole part from start to finish last year and I keep going back because the cast is so great and I admire all of them. I even went as far to look up these people's social media. They're all AMAZING. And to think this is a high school production.

The fact that this was all a coordinated production involving the entire fine arts department of Martin High School makes me proud to be a part of it now! I really wish I could've at least seen it live, because I know some of my friends were actually in the orchestra and they enjoyed playing all those 2 hours! It was worth it to them
