When Brian turns the apt-get Debian command into a GUI software so useful, just imagine that he has his magic wand in his hand, doing all what he can to help us being either more productive or less lost in front of our capricious computers ))
I just started using it, and it works GREAT!! It works like the software manager in Zorin OS and other Linux distros, automatically updating all the installed software on your system, and it is long overdue in Windows. It does give you the option of updating or not, before it updates any program. In my case, I have a registered older version of GoodSync, and UniGetUI initially updated it to the latest version, which I don't have a license for. So I had to uninstall that version of GoodSync and reinstall the older version that I have the license for, then I used the "Ignore selected packages" to tell UniGetUI not to update GoodSync anymore. So now it ignores GoodSync and leaves it alone. Great product!
Thanks for the video Brian. I’ve been using Patch My PC for quite some time to update my programs, but I will give this a try and see if it’s suit me better.
I used this for a while before getting used to the the terminal. It's a great GUI tool! Now I just use powershell to install, uninstall and clean previous install files with Winget, Scoop and Choco.
@@Pennytechnews You would need to check updates for each package manager you are using, while Uniget can show you all available updates at once. Winget winget update Scoop scoop update scoop status Choco choco outdated choco upgrade
This app is great, but is there any kind of app that keeps track/list of all the apps that has been installed on the PC?. I mean, there are apps on my system that I have downloaded and I do not use them regularly, and then after some time, I totally forget what was the app and what its for.
Very usefull thank you! Do you know if the unistaller is as deep as Revo Unistaller? can it remove the data from the registry or data in other places in the hard drive?
As part of your assessment, testing and recommendations have you investigated whether this software is transmitting your software stack back to the application developer, or a third party?
Can you do an additional demo that elaborates the way to create backups of all powershell installs to a local zip for any or for each UI download? For example when users were using Winget and blazing away on updates they may want to have .zip archives of packages and move to an alternative hard drive for later use if the OS becomes corrupt or boot drive gets damaged. How to archive your powershell downloads?
Sorry Brian, but i probably missed it. But does this program give one the ability to customize installations? You do know some programs have bloatware that you normally check off from installing too.
Thanks for the video. While it has a different function, how about ccleaner and such programs compare to UniGetUI on uninstalling the software? I simply hate that the pc get slower because updates and stuff like and the only to make the pc run as new is to format it and install everything including Windows itself. By the way, there's a problem with installing Windows On new laptops that have an intel chip with IrisXe graphic card on it. An external driver is need for installing Windows 11. Windows 10 get the blue screen of death. Without that external driver coming from USB, even Windows 11 do not recognize an NVME drive to install windows on it. A video about that would be great.
RAID is a storage technology that uses multiple drives to improve performance and reliability compared to a single-drive setup. What is it your trying to do? Howe many drives do you have?
Can I safely uninstall CoPilot without it affecting any other main functions in my W10? (I don't use that Notepad++) I've been wanting to get rid of it, but wasn't sure how safe that would be. A response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
There is another problem with Windows 11 24H2 in File Explorer? When you click on the three dots, it opens upwards instead of down, so you can't see it all, The only way to see everything is to drag the File Explorer window down.
Oh these modern interfaces... Why make people scroll through multiple screens, unfold groups, when there's tons of free screen real estate free on the sides? I miss win3.1/95 era UI so much... Sure it was a bit intimidating for some, but having all of the settings in one window on one screen was such a productivity boost...
Damn, I downloaded and install but soon after I restart my PC all went off, a short cat was gone, and I can't uninstall or find any program but the files are on the PC. Even in a folder I see files but want to run or uninstall
Why connect Chocolatery. I have some in node.js some in Chocolatery and this is chaos. Also update Git over winget and have big problem in VS2022 projects, dont add new changes ! ? ?? !!
Chocolatey constantly insisting on elevated privileges just to install basic tools feels very outdated. I make my own portable installs these days using info from the Web.

Is it easy to see all the apps that need updates using command line?

Great tool Brian. Love it.
Thanks for the update and share. Keep up the good work, Brian.
This is like old school and new school in one .. I love it. Works great.
Fantastic software! Many thanks.
Excellent, thank you Brian.
Keep showing people this stuff. It is people like you that are keeping me busy at my IT job.
Absolutely lol, some will never figure it out.
Another marvelous video😮😊
Thanks
Brian, you never seize to amaze me, thank you so much for this!

Great find Brian , Thanks. I've been using a personal elaborate batch file I created which is similar. 👍👍👍👍👍
ive been using this for about a week now its not bad at all
Bro my winget not recognising after deleting file from windows/data/Microsoft 😢 plz help
another top notch app recommendation. thank you!
Thanks Brian. Looks great. I just installed it with Chocolaty.
Awesome 😎🙏 Thanks mate.
My pleasure!
been talks of uniget and winutil maybe doing a fold in, would be so nice.
Does it also check if the package to be installed is valid software and not a virus or malware with an identical name?
As part of your assessment, testing and recommendations have you investigated whether this software is transmitting your software stack back to the application developer, or a third party?
Thanks Brain, great tool.
Awesome video, very informative. Do you know of any similar software for drivers?

No it doesn't. I use winget just to install git, zoom, teams and docker you have to be careful with pups or adware if the Software includes any.
Yes it does. You have interactive installation option
Thanks old top. Will give it a go.
Just what I'm looking for atm.. Cheers
Does the Uninstaller work like Revo, Wise, etc, or leave a lot behind like W add/remove?

Gracias Thank you Brian!!

Very good information thanks
Welcome
Thank you sir , awesome.
Most welcome!
I was just about to comment "You can do this with Winget in terminal" and realized "Formally WingetUI" was the app's name. Facepalm
is edge can be uninstalled using this software without any issues ?
Awesome! 👍 Windows with a Linux Flavour 😁
Does this work on 32 bit windows 10 Brian
I'm in the US , and I'm researching the difference between raid pc setup to an regular pc setup in 2024 what would you recommend to use ?
RAID is a storage technology that uses multiple drives to improve performance and reliability compared to a single-drive setup. What is it your trying to do? Howe many drives do you have?
How do one know it downloads all programs and packages from legitimate sources?

I have been using it, sad that they have delete the software list, you can only search, not to see the whole list

Can you change the installation path of packages?
Under "installation options"
This is great.
great app!
So it's a portable program that only uses installers, it doesn't download portable software.
Why connect Chocolatery. I have some in node.js some in Chocolatery and this is chaos. Also update Git over winget and have big problem in VS2022 projects, dont add new changes ! ? ?? !!
It slows the computer down and creates conflicts with defender
It's good but it's not perfect because it can't install anything that requires a command install element. But it's worth having despite that.
why not just use winget install --all ?
Had a hard time downloading but easier to get from windows store
Chocolatey constantly insisting on elevated privileges just to install basic tools feels very outdated. I make my own portable installs these days using info from the Web.
I using script winget and still working properly update everything properly maybe some day trying it to
👍👍
Thanks
Nope, not a software manager actually it is more "like a Linux" manager, _for package managers_
(in GUI form)
👌👍

Thanks. Great Day. 😊
As a stubborn and unapologetic Windows 7 user, I take issue with your "EVERY Windows User" claim. 😁
I also still love 7 but many software just plain refuse to run on 7. This is an annoyance which cannot be overlooked.

Well done

why would the average user want this?
Sudo apt remove windows
sudo apt autoremove --purge Windows :D
