Pretty good solution for files, music etc. backup. For imaging, I use Rescuezilla. I make 3 images. Install Windows and backup straight away. Then install Windows drivers and updates and do another backup. In the end, I install all programmes and configure everything and than I do third and final backup. I've always done it this way, it's simple to restore in case of emergency or nasty system infection. It's free and open source programme.
I use Clonezilla also to backup Image for Windows 10 for Desktop and Windows 11 and EndeavourOS(Arch Linux distro) on my Laptop on 1TB 960 evo, the 3 images take roughly almost half TB size of the backup drive. On my Windows Machine the backup and restore takes 30 minutes on 970 evo plus 1TB drive and 10 or 15 minutes on half TB Laptop drive depending on the size of the drive ofc.

Free File Sync can also be used as a portable app, under the menu system (which almost looks like the old Windows menu) from the marvellous Portable Apps site, but updates for the portable version lag somewhat. They also have Dsynch and at least one more, I think. Free File Synch has been my main backup for a few years, even to my NAS for more critical files. It will also backup to cloud sites, but I'd be careful about them, owing to the fact that some of them have clauses giving them rights over images and the like.

One helpful point is when you have got the paths right click on the Compare button, and down the rhs you should see what is being copied. You can right click on any folder/file and exclude it from being copied. If you save the FFS file it remembers what you have excluded. I find this easier than clicking on the clog and writing what I want excluded.
