Legend is that Musashi didn't kill all the guys with a boat oar, but he did kill at least one guy with it, and that guy preferred to use an unusually long blade. Also Musashi won a lot of duels at a time when it was common for both participants to be killed in the fight. The details and specifics are lost to history but there is enough evidence to suggest that he was a real figure, and killed a lot of people by being skilled, creative, and smart. These are good qualities to emulate.
ETA: emulate the skilled / creative smart; not the killing a lot of people ffs

theres also some evidence that he was an absolute unit in terms of his build when compared to most people in japan at the time

I'd be interested in watching a hybrid lifting competition, even it were online. Something like a semi-super total type thing. Snatch, C&J, Bench, weighted pullup, etc.

13:43 What causes lack of progress
I’m self coached/programmed and have been for the past 3yrs. And have brought myself from 60/80 to 97/129. The amount of guidance and advice I’ve taken from your channel has been a great help.
I know getting a coach would be the best thing for me, and one day will be calling to the lads at SikaStan. However, at the moment getting a coach wouldn’t work for me for various reasons, for now I will continue to soak up the guidance and advice from the lords of SikaStan.

thanks for answering my question about the clean and jerk gurph.
    i weigh 109kg ive squatted 200kg and deadlifted 230 and benched 160
it shouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility as a lifetime goal. and the cleans will help my lagging upper back muscle too 😁😁😁

Musashi is a questionable author(rolemodel?), as he cheated or run away from his strongest opponents.
    If I remember right:
    - bullrashed his opponent with an oar, in a mutually agreed duel
    - intentionally came late for a duel he initiated, until other guy`s sword got frozen stuck in a scabbard and killed him
    - after being attacked in a bathhouse never took bath again
    etc.

Should I be seeking advice as a novice weightlifter even if I’m still making great progress, or should I wait until I stagnate

    • @petermeasures9514
      @petermeasures9514 Год назад

You might progress faster if you're "seeking advice", whether that's formal coaching or seminars/form checks.
Your main consideration is money - can you pay for a coach/seminar/advice? If yes, go for it and see what difference you feel. If not, stick with what you're doing.
The fact that you're asking the question suggests you're wanting advice/assurance.
Wishing you well and hope you get yourself sorted.
