I'm pretty new to anime conventions. I've only gone to three, Sakura-Con 2015, Chibi-Chibi Con 2016, and Sakura-Con 2016. But the first two have bad experiences to follow. So, Sakura-Con 2015. My first anime convention. I was excited, especially considering I was with my best friend Karsyn and her cool sister Kelly. (And also Kelly's boyfriend who vaped a lot and it smelled awesome but was kinda scary. It's still a nostalgic scent for me.) So, I had 60 dollars. Naturally, as my first con, after registration, we sat down for a few panels. Karsyn had done this before, I hadn't. For me it was the most excited thing ever, but to stay in character, I couldn't show that. (I was Eridan Ampora and Karsyn was Karkat Vantas.) So, eventually we got to all the shops. As it was my first convention, I bought SO MANY THINGS and walked around for maybe 2 hours. Then, eventually Kelly found us and looked at me and said "We don't have money for the ferry." And I looked in my wallet just like "What do you want me to do about it?" And so after a little argument between Kelly, Karsyn and I, she gave up and when we were done, we just drove the long way back. I fell asleep in the car anyways. Chibi-Chibi Con 2016 was fun for the most part. This time, I took Karsyn along... But I was also forced to bring my little sisters. My grandma insisted on taking us, and I couldn't argue. The drive was maybe two hours, and before we left we had taco bell, but by the time we got there, we were hungry again. It was pouring rain, and we didn't park too far away from the convention. So, we got in, separated in groups, (Me and Karsyn /and/ my grandma and my sisters.),bummed around and got some food. We ran into each other, as it wasn't a very big convention, and decided to stick together for a while, then separated. We watched the ramen eating contest and pretty soon, it was time to go. In hindsight, the way were were supposed to go was easy. On our way exiting the convention, one of my sisters decided she wanted to throw a massive fit, letting everybody know she wanted to stay for the dance. But we needed to get home.But of course, she tried to run off, making us completely lost. Ironic that I was cosplaying Dave Strider but I had lost my chill so hard. My feet hurt and were blistered and bleeding, it was raining, and we were lost. Eventually we called the police for help, and one guy came who led us to our car. We had been running around for 2 hours, we learned. And I am still, inside mad at my sister... Actually no, just passive aggressively upset. On my last convention, the worst that happened is post-convention, we went to dennys and my sister threw up all over the bathroom. Thanks for reading!
Woah! I also went to Chibi Chibi Con 2016 (which btw wasn't all that great), considering its a pretty small local convention do you happen to live in the Puget Sound area? I also went to Sakura con (as a volunteer) but knowing it's a pretty big event I doubt we'd even bump into each other.

(I am finnish yayyy) So I was there with my friends and sadly enough, I first wasn't even supposed to go there but I went anyway, so I didn't have tickets. I sat outside with my friends for 5 hours and we laughed and went to see other Homestucks. (I wasn't cosplaying.) We met my friwnds friwnd and she too was a homestuck and we had a great time.
OH MY GOD I WAS AT THAT MEETUP (as Yamaguchi) I was with the rest of the crowd but my friend (Bokuto) and I saw the new group off to the side attempting to rally and all we could think was how dangerous that was bc it was PRETTY DAMN CLEAR that some of them didn't play when they were attempting serves and constantly hitting the ball out of each other's range (my friend got hit and they didn't apologize) with little control over it

We were about to leave Comic Con when the police arrived and handcuffed him, thinking that he was one of the clown terrorists. He ended up spending 90 hours doing community service, as well as several investigations involving the research of substance abuse, gun control, etc. Long story short, it was a bad day for him to cosplay...

I'm pretty new to anime conventions. I've only gone to three, Sakura-Con 2015, Chibi-Chibi Con 2016, and Sakura-Con 2016. But the first two have bad experiences to follow.
So, Sakura-Con 2015. My first anime convention. I was excited, especially considering I was with my best friend Karsyn and her cool sister Kelly. (And also Kelly's boyfriend who vaped a lot and it smelled awesome but was kinda scary. It's still a nostalgic scent for me.) So, I had 60 dollars. Naturally, as my first con, after registration, we sat down for a few panels. Karsyn had done this before, I hadn't. For me it was the most excited thing ever, but to stay in character, I couldn't show that. (I was Eridan Ampora and Karsyn was Karkat Vantas.) So, eventually we got to all the shops. As it was my first convention, I bought SO MANY THINGS and walked around for maybe 2 hours. Then, eventually Kelly found us and looked at me and said "We don't have money for the ferry." And I looked in my wallet just like "What do you want me to do about it?" And so after a little argument between Kelly, Karsyn and I, she gave up and when we were done, we just drove the long way back. I fell asleep in the car anyways.
Chibi-Chibi Con 2016 was fun for the most part. This time, I took Karsyn along... But I was also forced to bring my little sisters. My grandma insisted on taking us, and I couldn't argue. The drive was maybe two hours, and before we left we had taco bell, but by the time we got there, we were hungry again. It was pouring rain, and we didn't park too far away from the convention. So, we got in, separated in groups, (Me and Karsyn /and/ my grandma and my sisters.),bummed around and got some food. We ran into each other, as it wasn't a very big convention, and decided to stick together for a while, then separated. We watched the ramen eating contest and pretty soon, it was time to go. In hindsight, the way were were supposed to go was easy. On our way exiting the convention, one of my sisters decided she wanted to throw a massive fit, letting everybody know she wanted to stay for the dance. But we needed to get home.But of course, she tried to run off, making us completely lost. Ironic that I was cosplaying Dave Strider but I had lost my chill so hard. My feet hurt and were blistered and bleeding, it was raining, and we were lost. Eventually we called the police for help, and one guy came who led us to our car. We had been running around for 2 hours, we learned. And I am still, inside mad at my sister... Actually no, just passive aggressively upset.
On my last convention, the worst that happened is post-convention, we went to dennys and my sister threw up all over the bathroom.

Lmao, I've been in only one con in my entire life which was Tracon. (I am finnish yayyy) So I was there with my friends and sadly enough, I first wasn't even supposed to go there but I went anyway, so I didn't have tickets.
I sat outside with my friends for 5 hours and we laughed and went to see other Homestucks. (I wasn't cosplaying.) We met my friwnds friwnd and she too was a homestuck and we had a great time.

OH MY GOD I WAS AT THAT MEETUP (as Yamaguchi) I was with the rest of the crowd but my friend (Bokuto) and I saw the new group off to the side attempting to rally and all we could think was how dangerous that was bc it was PRETTY DAMN CLEAR that some of them didn't play when they were attempting serves and constantly hitting the ball out of each other's range (my friend got hit and they didn't apologize) with little control over it
