- Unboxing + installation of my new little friend(s)! LIKEWISE just released a new shift knob, The Ghost, and I couldn't resist! This is the one I've been waiting for years! It looks and feels like a Delrin shift knob you usually find on sequential gearbox shifters and it has the perfect weight thanks to its stainless steel core!

I just got my ghost shifter today😀 white with brushed base. I LOVE it!

@@bakajoninjapan still getting used to it lol I have the suzuka extension with it and it was paired with the thic Boi before so there's the weight difference. Thic Boi felt too heavy for me, ghost is more nimble.
I see! I had the Thicc Boi for some time, alone tho. The weight was perfect for my application but it wasn't the exact shape I was looking for. The Ghost is the perfect compromise!

Thanks for the comment! I really had the chance to put the ghost to the test during the past couple of days and I love it even more than I'd imagined! Maybe I should do a review video as well. (^_^)
Watched this just to see how reverse lockout worked. And I’m glad you found a way to make it work. It’s not selling me on this expansive shift knob that doesn’t even work out of the box.
Sorry for the late reply mate! To be fair, the Lotus has a very specific shifter. The Likewise products usually fit without any hustle!
@@bakajoninjapan ohhhh. I was thinking it was more or less like a Toyota shifter.
It is really specific to the Lotus. The shiftknob thread is also different. Lotus uses only the engine and the gearbox from Toyota. Everything else is Lotus (almost haha!)

I've had some likewise stuffs too but most of them is the pro editions..just ordered the rapfix bell II collab.. i thought of ordering the ghost too, but afraid of the shifting feels as most of my collections are weighted..

I just got my shift knob in black with a brushed finish on the bottom, but for some reason the black parts looks weird. Like it has some sort of weird coating on it and it looks off-grayish
Ah strange.. hit them up I’m sure they can help. Have you tried to clean it up with wd40 or something a little bit oily?
@@bakajoninjapan I haven’t but not a bad idea. I’ll definitely try that. My shipping took forever so I really don’t want to send it back.

@@mctg9043 I wouldn't mind paying the price if all you have to buy is the gear knob, but you have to pay extra for an adaptor, a shift boot retainer which puts the price up to like $200. Ridiculous
@@vxsr33 especially if you have a vw the compatibility issues and the difficulty for installation is crazy. I have to take the entire shift boot out and then disassemble the shift knob rather than just unscrewing the shift knob like on a normal car.

It would work as well yes! It's not easy to notice but I had to modify the original biscuit adapters in order to fit the knob on the Elise shifter. And I also had to mount them up side down, which is not recommended. So, in my case, the new adapter feels much safer and stronger.
