Likewise Shift Knob Install - Volvo C30 (No Threads!)

- In this video I install a likewise shift knob on my Volvo C30. The C30 does not have threads on its shifter rod assembly, and requires and adapter to replace the OEM setup. In this video I discuss the adapter available from likewise, retainer clip, and shift knob being installed together. I would highly recommend using this method if changing out your shift knob on any vehicle without threads, as it provides a much more secure grip and improves the shifting feel greatly.

Thank you! And yes I would definitely recommend it even just for the increased secure feeling alone. I might use your idea with duct tape to make it even firmer tbh haha!
Gonna try this for a better fit for my jewel on my sentra SR Turbo because there isnt any threads. Been using an adapter off of amazon for now but I even measured my shifter rod and its like 2.7mm so I'm gonna use a vacuum cap and hope it works out.

What happens when you want to take the retainer off ?

I believe the retainer works only with other likewise products. As long as it’s one of the likewise plus products it should fit!
As long as it’s the second generation Neil diamond. Plus+ products only work with other plus+ products
to get all the benefits of the PLUS+ system including compatibility with the Shift Boot Retainer PLUS+, you will need to purchase a PLUS+ adapter with a PLUS+ shifter.
I am struggling to take off the knob off of my C30, a lot of videos say push down on the knob and turn left to take it off and I’ve done it but it I cannot take it off, how did you take off your original gear knob? I really want to change my knob, I’m tired of the stock knob.
Hi, I don't know if you're still having this problem and I only know that for my t5 (might be different on diesel or other engine trims) It took quite a bit of force to take off the first time.
Did you order 10, 12, or 14mm adapter?

@@AmrinDosanjh thanks! Is the 10mm too small? Is that why you ordered the 12mm? I wonder because you said you had to use a vacuum cap to make it fit snug in the shift stick
@@juicetahn_personal my situation is a bit odd since my rod was sawed into so it’s a bit oddly shaped LOL. I selected the 12mm because that’s what our vehicle size is supposedly from what I heard from others and online. Everyone else with a C30 has used 12mm without any issues
