I saw one guy interpret the original in the following way: There's a man who is in need of help, but doesn't realize it. A second man comes up, and can tell that the first man needs help and tells him that, but never actually offers to help and leaves. A third man comes up and offers help, only to find that the first man doesn't even know why he needs help in the first place. He can't help until the first man realizes what he needs help with.
I only bring this up because in this animation I feel like it's implied that the second guy (with a heart) is better/more compassionate than the third guy (without a heart). However, I see the first man as worse, because he sees the problem and simply tells the first man what he needs and doesn't properly explain what the problem is to the first guy and doesn't try to help him with it. The third man wants to help but can't because the first guy doesn't know what the problem is, only that he needs help.
Hope this made sense. Great animation btw. I love jack stauber's work and you added a really nice style to his work.

Well, it really depends on perspective. I personally see the third man as worse. Instead of helping to figure out what they needed help with, he just told them they don’t want help. Almost like their convincing the person that nothing is wrong and that they don’t need or want help. Sounds kinda manipulative.
The second man, however, tells the person that they need help, but doesn’t help. They might not be equipped to help. Take mental illness as an example. If a person who’s not a therapist recognizes that a person needs help, they are not equipped to help that person or deal with that person’s problem. Now he still is kind of in the wrong for not telling the person what they need help with, but I just see that as a mistake on his part. Whereas with the third guy, it felt like he just didn’t want to put in the effort to figure out what was wrong and help, and convince the first man that nothing was wrong and that he didn’t want help.
Idk it just depends on how each person views it.

In this animation i would agree in the original no because there is pretty clear there is a rock crushing the guy so even if the first one is bad for not actually help and just leave the second one in the original not only ask for the guy being crushed by a rock if he needs help but convince him he doesn't
