the emotion Bill Bixby put into this scene before becoming the Hulk
Exactly, you could tell it was leading up to him transforming, and even when his eyes changed, his anger he portrayed was incredible.
Listen to his voice when he starts to change and says “Julie”
Bill Bixby was a great actor!
I felt his emotion when he screamed: Julie, Julie!
He was always like that. Bill Bixby really knew how to convey pain and distress. Even though you knew in a minute he'd be the Hulk, even a few moments of David yelling was hard to watch. It really broke your heart.
Watch his hulk out in "The First" when the other hulk destroys the antidote.
At 2:16 when David starts to transform, the acting that Bill Bixby puts into it is incredible, how mad he gets she can’t stand up.
The person playing Julie is absolutely also incredible with her emotions as he transforms.
This has to be one of the best moments in the series, and best thing the show was just starting.
Her first name is Laurie, she also played Katie in the episode Prometheus.
@@colerogers3681 Was she blind in real life, or just acting?
@@colerogers3681 wow I forgot she played that blind woman
I remember when I was young watching.. For years I always thought Bill's acting was so underrated. He's fantastic.. a natural.
Another one of Bill's best moments is in season 4 when Dell Frye's creature throws David's cure at a wall smashing it to pieces. The performance Bix gives there is nothing short of heartbreaking.
The hissing, the grunting, the growling.
Quicksand has turned out to be much less of a problem than I thought it was going to be when I was a kid.
Bill Bixby did a brilliant job as Dr. David Banner nobody can play this part like him
Hulk is a gentle GIANT with a heart of gold.
Because David has a heart of gold.
@@joeturner9219
Is it David or Bruce ?
@@infoforu3455 In this series, his name was David Bruce Banner.
@@stevencohen624
Oh Ok i see...
David is a kind hearted and giving man. This is why the hulk is truly a gentle giant with a heart of gold.
I feel so so bad for hulk he just wanted to come along but Julie had no choice but tell him no so that people won't see him and hurt him that
Part made me sad too
Of course,
if this was the true portrayal of the Hulk as written in the comics and animation,
nothing could hurt The Hulk.
Hulk got the Sulk....
Bill Bixby what an actor props too Lou Ferrigno too
Absolutely! They were a great team.
Don’t forget Jack Colvin.
They Were A!Great Trio!RIP Bill Bixby!Jack Colvin!&LouFerrigno RIP 🙏 🕊 ☮ 😌 ☹️ 😔 🙏 🕊 ☮ 😌 ☹️ 😔 🙏 🕊 ☮ 😌 ☹️ 😔!
@@jeanbaumgartner4052 Lou Ferrigno hasn’t passed away yet, but the guy’s ripped.
Lou Ferrigno!!! THE Incredible Hulk 👍👍
Hulks IQ really shows in these episodes it's funny and in the same time it really brings excitement to the table .
Hulk has good aim; broke that back propeller on that ' copter!
"Hold on to the dogs, let them pull us out" - kid me didn't know any better, but adult me can sure laugh at the absurdity of some of these lines.
Julie was one of the few people that wasn’t unconscious when David transformed into the Hulk and she’s not afraid of the Hulk while he’s helping.
I think she already saw him transform before this.
When she saw his green eyes she did scream out and say no don't you'll make it worse
@@kennethkelly2471 She was afraid *for* him, not of him. If she hadn't pulled down the branch, the Hulk's additional mass would've caused him to submerge.
She was afraid at first, she made David change in front of her after she slapped him when he was trying to get her out of her House.
Funny enough, the actor who plays Julie would come back to play as a blind woman in the 4th season who also knew that David was the Hulk when he changed halfway back.
@7:49 David inside the Hulk realizing he will always have to hide
This makes the new CGI hulk look like the computer sprite it is.
unfortunately Prometheus had a very quick end. 👀
I wish Bill Bixby lived to see the MCU. The final three films (returns, trial, death) really touched base with Marvel comics itself and that was because Bill saw that the stories there were just awesome.
Lou did a great job playing the hulk
70s and 80s sitcoms were the best
This was the most intense Hulk out of the series!!!!! I remember my little heart was beating so fast watching it as a kid…good times.
Thank you for making these videos. Great stuff from my childhood.
I just love how he did that jump when he had that lady in his arms
Standing and reaching & pulling was the game changer.
This is so much better than all this CGI garbage now days!
I agree with you real thing is better than Cgi garbage👍
Honestly I like how they did it here, but I am not gonna act like they did wonders with the 2008 and 2012 Hulk transformations
@@vincent52542 exactly. Its overdone these days.
@@michealmahmoud6391 the original was the best. They have overdone it with all the CGI now and it makes it terrible.
@@neilpa CGI is a lot more complicated and nuanced then you think is, not just how it shows Bruce going from 5 foot to his 8-9 foot counterpart but creating a Hulk that looks faithful to his comic counterpart but also works in a real world setting with muscle, skin tissue while making the Hulk look similar to Bruce Banner in a way the original tv shows couldn’t do
We don't get shows like this anymore
Cuz that was the 90s
@@hdallanstudios9568 so that means we wont get good shows anymore
@@hdallanstudios9568 Hulk is a 70's tv show.
Hulk was late 70s, early 80s. Great memories. Still my favorite show too this day.
@@andyrandall9289 yeah thats what I was thinking
Lou Ferrigno's Hulk make-up was much more prehistoric and scary looking in the early episodes.
And also 70s and 80s music is the best
I always enjoyed the Hulk out sound effects @ 2:13 as it eases in and gets louder. It gives me the impression of being taken over and possessed by "something". that was the 70's for you!
Wasn't Julie in promethius episode where she was blind? She is a really good actor
yeah she was in that episode, as well as another episode but I don't remember exactly
She is really is a great actress. Her name is Laurie Prange. Her Prometheus character's name who was blind was Katie Maxwell.
Ms. Prange also guest-starred as a runaway in a Partridge Family episode.
Yes
Bixby gets extremely excited and his face turns all green 😂😂😂 but yeah a wonderful scene. Like many of his other hulk transformations.
Bill Bixby I feel was a vastly underrated actor.
I love the end of the clip. Hulk drops his head and thinks to himself, "Man, I thought I was going to get some".
Bestaiao
Pegar o que?
😂😂😂😂😂
I know how he feels!!
This is one of the greatest shows ever! I remember being so pissed off with Julie, when she wouldn't try to stand up! Good times! 😆😆👏👏👏
why did he need Julie to stand up ?
W
Eu quero ver filmes do hulk completo
Bixby was an acting gem!! And this was actually the 2nd episode of Season 1, a 2 parter, and probably on of the best of the series
It's the second pilot movie for the show.
Did anyone notice the male Doctor seen standing behind Julie's stepmother, is the actor who was Mr. Feeny in Boy meets world and was also the voice of Kit in Knight Rider.
I remember this episode when I was a boy. Still a Classic.
I was too young to remember the full episode, but I remember the quick sand. 👍
This 2 part episode, right after the Pilot, is an all-time classic, right up there with Prometheus. Same actress is in both.🙂
Julie really put him through the wringer in this episode. Here, getting frustrated that she wouldn’t stand up, knowing she could, earlier, whacking him in the head with the teapot, while he’s trying to explain to her that she can really walk while simultaneously trying to get her out of there, and of course fighting a bear along the way..😂😂😂
Love how in certain episodes like this one they would fit Lou Ferrigno with a bigger and weirder wig and a huge set of eyebrows... 🤭
3:46
I think the branch must have snapped when the Hulk pulled it off.

Not even quicksand can defeat the hulk

If he sank under, that would have been the end of him.

I have known that for decades.
The hulk is fiction. Look it up.
@@CalmoOmlac The Hulk can't drown...
@@shawbros I swear he was still getting pulled under when he was the hulk,, why did he need her to stand up ?
This was a great show and was really well done for the time
I think I went through this transformation 3 times in traffic today.
😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
That was some leap across that bed of quicksand. Nothing compared to what his comic counterpart is capable of but to be holding a female in his arms and getting that kind of height is still incredible.
I agree. Like you said, it was nothing compared to what his counterpart could do, but still, that pool of mud was probably at least forty feet across.
The thought of what happened to the helicopter was humorous.
The resolution of this old footage is surprisingly good.
Lisa Marchman, He was just playing in the mud, he was just playing in the mud, remember that , LOL, man the funny things kids say, well when we were kids
@Frederick Wells Yes but not A registered member yet
@Frederick Wells But what's so funny about this is that when we were in elementary school that's what she use to say on that part and it was So funny Because that's the first memory that popped to my head when I seen this
@Frederick Wells LOL
@Frederick Wells Yes with us too that was so long ago I'm surprised I remembered that.
When the Hulk is in quicksand, his legs were still strong enough to get himself out without help!
The green wave coming across his face at that moment of distress.
I’m glad she can walk again
The 70s were pure gold
Actress Laurie Prange is one beautiful woman. She also guest-starred in the episode "Prometheus" as Katie Maxwell who was blind and who comforted David during his mid-transformation back to normal crisis.
Hello Channel Manager, This clip is from the 2nd Incredible Hulk PILOT movie that aired on CBS November 27th, 1977. It would be edited into 2 episodes for syndication making this clip Season 1 Episode 4 NOT Episode 21.
That’s sad that he doesn’t want to leave her
Like if your sad
I don't get it. The Hulk saved her and she made him go away. That's "gratitude" for you.
That's a woman
She had to go to the police. It wouldn't have looked too good for the Hulk to tag along.
people would try to hurt him for something he didn't do. That's why Julie told him to hide.
You no like Hulk, Hulk sad!
@@savannahhague4989 is that what she told you when you spoke to her?
I am surprised that the helicopter pilot wasn't more amazed when he saw them coming out of the swamp, it was a huge green muscular Hulk carrying the woman and not Bruce Banner. This was one of the early episodes where they had the Hulk act more "animalistic" than he was in later episodes. They were also still using the special "super strength" sound which they later stopped using.
I like this one Mills Watson is in it, one of my favorite actors
Deputy Perkins 😄
And William Daniels,AKA KITT's voice and Mr. Feenie.
The incredible hulk you have a good heart David banner you have a good heart too
hulk is strong and brave and kind
We just missed the "Bear launched over the Lake" scene, one of my all time favorite Hulk moments. I used to pretend I was the Hulk and jump out of the water while roaring. Who out there remembers the growl that vampire let out when David Soul was about to stake him in Salem's Lot?
I like the idea that the Hulk was very helpful
Bill Bixby must have lift weights because he carried and lifted alot of heavy objects in this show
no shit sherlock
It's second episode. Death in family. Fantastic. I'm from Italy
We need the Hulk today. The world would be a better place.
Agreed my guy, agreed 🥲
Incredible hulk is my favorite marvel character and favorite TV show of all time. William richards from dequincy Louisiana
I heard that the voice-over at the beginning of the show was done by Ted Cassidy. "You rang?" Yes, _that_ Ted Cassidy.
Yes. He also did the roaring for the Hulk until he passed away.
He was extra green this episode
I loved virtually every episode of this marvelous tv show based on the Hulk and this is one of the episodes i really loved, action packed and it pitted the Hulk against a more powerful adversary than the normal beings he normally face,a giant grizzly bear! Dramatic and suspenseful all the way through!!
Boa tarde
The Hulk can jump like The Six Million Dollar man
He can jump like The Six Million Dollar Man
Ted Cassidy did a great job with the growling
What a hell of a makeup job. Getting Louie green was work enough, but then getting all that swamp crap to stay on over the green makeup must have been torture for everyone involved. Back when Hulks were men.
Was this the ONLY episode where Hulk jumped that high?
Bill Bixby was pretty strong he carried alot of the female actress himself
That's ironic because Bill Bixby played an airman in a helicopter that Kirk Douglas shot the rotor out of in Lonely Are the Brave.
Bix was a great actor. What a loss.
Fez muito sucesso aqui no Brasil, década de 80.
This is one of my favorite episodes
Oh no quicksand
isn't his voice supposed to deepen when his eyes are greenish-white? I mean in some episodes when David Bruce Banner is starting to change into the Hulk, his voice deepens.
Yes.
Is better than others awesome like
I like your videos do the Death Masks video episode please
This show was 🔥.
I think this hulk is more better than all marvel.hero in this classic era..
2:17 0.o my brother when someone eats all his doritos XD
Eu assisti esse epsódio em 1978 com o nome " Morte em Familia"
I love this tv show, I grew up watching it as a kid. He is one of my favorite heroes. I was bullied by others in my childhood for being different from others. What best free websites to watch the incredible hulk online for computer lovers and online lovers these days?
JULIE FOR GOD SAKE!!!
LMAO. HAHAHAHAHA. LOL
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol Julie you're pissen me off..
Nostalgia!!!!!
I wasn’t sure if Banner would turn into the Hulk, TBH. I mean, he hadn’t been knocked around by the bad guy’s lackeys, hadn’t been tossed into the next room or behind some furniture where no one could see him… 😋
But he was under extreme stress as he was on the brink of losing his life any second. That kind of desperation can ignite a lot of emotions.
This was Season 1 Episode 2 after the pilot movie.
Even the green paint used was of a brighter shade of green than the later seasons.
Wasn't Julie in prometheus episode where she was blind? She is a really good actress
Bish, stand up and get the damn branch!
Pretty good job walking, even though she hasn't in ages. Certainly, her leg muscles would be atrophied after all that time...
7:04 there is green paint on the women hand 😆
Didn't he he also perform magic tricks and have a son named Eddie ?
Make the Incredible Hulk death mask
