    I had needling done for acne scars and little anti-aging prevention as I am 31 (soon to be 32). Did it in a series and got some really good results and I would definitely do it again. It was done by my doctor with original DermaPen device. My skin looked fresh, plumped, scars are less visible and some little wrinkles from smiling are gon or minimised. xx

    I agree! I love dermarolling. I do it once a week after I get my kid to bed usually on Mondays. I have tried it three times so far. But I think for the results and time in it works really well for me. I use sunscreen/serums.

    I'm 24 and im starting to get fine lines under my eyes. My skin therapist recommended microneedling. Now that I'm doing my research I'm ready horrible stories of people with awful results. Their skin is loose and lost it's elasticity. How is that possible?! I'm really scared to do anything now!

    I was so happy to watch this video, after discovering your channel I decided to make something happen with my acne scaring after being on roaccutane (life changing!) some years ago. I went to see a dermatologist and yesterday I had dermapen/micro needling for the fist time and already today I see such big changes that I was not at all expecting to see so fast. I am so excited this morning and the redness is not bad at all today. Really an easy and again life changing treatment, seeing you giving it thumbs up as well just made my day. Thank you for your videos Dr Sam ❤️

    • @mattinuk
      @mattinuk 7 лет назад +17

      "already today I see such big changes that I was not at all expecting to see so fast". That's localised swelling, which will subside within a few days. Structural changes to the skin are impossible within such a short timeframe. You won't see concrete results for months, maybe over a year. Surprised Dr Sam Bunting pinned this because it's rather misleading to those who are new to microneedling.

    Does micro needling (dermapen) work on new acne scars? I've also noticed that I have gotten hyperpimentation track marks on my forehead that are still a bit noticeable 3 weeks after the dermapen. Were the needles too deep or was there not enough liquid to glide? Should I be using the cicaplast gel from la roche posay more often to keep the face moist to avoid hyperpigmentation after the next microneedling treatment ? thank you. love you videos by the way Just discovered your chanel yesterday. very helpful.

    I'm a registered nurse and have been doing home derma rolling for several months and the results are superb. But... (there's always a but isn't there?) infection control is paramount for home derma rolling. I cannot emphasise that enough. Medical needling yields a much better result than home needling of course and you need to consider the degree of result you require. Thanks Dr Sam for this great video. :)

    Great treatment. I started doing dermarolling at home along with Retin A and face exercises, daily exercise and a whole plant food diet. OMG. At 55 the results are crazy amazing. I bought a microneedling pen for deeper medical needling, haven't used it yet. I have a sterile field out patient surgery background so know how to do sterile procedures, and while not sterile (in office or out) it's totally possible to be really clean at home. It's the most amazing age reversing, skin regenerating and AFFORDABLE treatment (at home anyway) that I've ever seen. Good stuff!

      Shalom! Do you have tips for keeping clean when using something like that? How can I clean a device that doesn’t have disposable heads? A video suggested spraying on isopropyl alcohol, allowing it to sit for ten minutes and then just rinsing off any extra to avoid alcohol in the wounds, but I have heard before that it’s called rubbing alcohol for a reason, and just spraying it on isn’t sufficient. How do you prepare for microneedling and what products you use after it an? :)

    I think in a medical setting this is probably a good treatment but I am concerned by the amount of videos on derma rolling/micro needling at home. I was a staff nurse in maxillofacial for a long time and I wouldn't be confident about doing it at home. I think there is a huge risk of infection/skin damage and am amazed by how many women on here think it is just another part of their routine. I have dry/eczema prone and very fair skin which marks easily and just feel it would be a trauma to my skin, which doesn't even like manual exfoliation. I do get on well with chemical exfoliants and use them within my skincare routine, including glycolic/lactic acids and retinols. What is your opinion on these treatments used in the home? Best wishes.

      Yes, home-use rollers can be helpful. However I think probably it makes sense to max out what you get from your skincare routine first before adding in devices i.e. using a retinoid, antioxidants and sunscreen.

    • @kathylam5512
      @kathylam5512 7 лет назад +4

      aydasu Hi! I had different types of scarring on my right cheek (mostly). I found it best to have a combination of things done. First, I consulted with a dermatalogic surgeon at Mayo Clinic in MN. He explained everything and told me what the costs would be upfront. when I was ready, he did something different to each scar depending on what type of scar it was. I can't even explain how he manipulated the skin to get rid of almost 100% of the rolling scars! He did some punch excision (punched out scars with a little tool and then stitched it back up with fine stitching). He used my own skin from the punch to inject underneath another scar to lift it. (first he released the "elastic fibers?" that were holding the skin down & making the scar.) This was done over two surgeries. I had no pain. I did make the mistake of lifting wet heavy clothes out of the washing machine while looking down and the pull from that did break a blood vessel where the surgery was - my fault entirely...I wasn't supposed to lift anything over 5 lbs for a few days....that left me with redness over the area, but I just let that heal on its own. it's still slightly pink 15 years later, but not noticeable to anyone but me. I am thinking of having a bit more surgery there and some laser to take the pinkness away. After the "cutting & sewing" surgeries were done (with a bit of dermabrasion to just make sure everything was evened out as part of the original surgeries), I went to a plastic surgeon who taught laser surgery, and had whole face CO2 laser resurfacing at his recommendation to keep from having any pigmentation chg patches. The only thing I had to do was put Vaseline on lightly for a few days. It took 2 wks to get rid of the red/pinkness (& I took an extra week because my face kept flushing for about an additional week afterwards). l chalk that up to my very fair sensitive skin. I loved my skin afterwards!!!! I would recommend this to anyone!!! It is over 15 years ago since I had this. I'm 61 now, and my face is beginning to "fall" so some of the scarring that wasn't noticeable after the surgeries is beginning to show. As gravity pulls on my skin it changed the shape of the face and places that looked ok before are showing a bit now. This would be my recommendation to anyone with acne scarring. Visit a well known dermatologic surgeon!!! Not an estitician or dermatologist...the dermatologist I visited lately wanted to use injections in my cheek bones to lift the skin (stretch the scars and loose skin) and I am not comfortable having a face like John Travolta had for a while!! plus the stuff they inject can harden!!
      Do you subscribe to Dr David Lim? He's out of Australia and has a ton of RUclips videos out there using many different types of surgery, skin peels, lasers, for all kinds of skin "flaws". And, of course, lasers have come a very long way in the last 15+ years!!! like I said, I had absolutely NO PAIN!!! The nurse called me everyday to see how it was going and I had several follow up appointments. I never used one pain pill they gave me - not for the surgery, not for the laser! Planning to visit the doctors once more in my lifetime for a follow up, fresh look!!! Good luck to you!

(But I don’t recommend doing that, you could seriously hurt yourself). If you want to do it, be very careful cleaning the dermaroller, alcohol, boiling water, the whole thing. Just use the dermaroller, moisturize very well and then apply sunscreen. I would apply it everyday, even when wearing denim.

      Alessio Ghirardello It's easy to do, but I'd be afraid of infection. I've seen all kinds of videos both good and bad results. I wish you good results however you choose to proceed.

      Anything that builds collagen tends to reduce pore size, but it takes months so change can be subtle.
