    Acne is easy to treat? Not sure about that. I've suffered acne for nearly 20 years and things work well for months and then stop working

      I just cured my acne !! I'm so freaaaaking happy, it seems to be quite stable.
      2% salicylic acid worked so well on me. BUT I've been using salicylic for years, but higher concentration really made the difference.

      pikachuiswatchingyou do you mind sharing which brand of salicylic acid do you use?

      bixbybailey do you mind sharing which supplement you take ? I'm looking to try

    • @pikachuiswatchingyou

      Blake Lif Really, any 2% works, because I don't have an easy access to percentage (In France it is somehow banned) and Paula's choice is kinda expensive, I use Akerat 30 by Avène : 30% urea, 2% salicylic and lactic acid.

    • @bixbybailey
      @bixbybailey 7 лет назад

      Hi Blake, I began with r-lipoic acid because it addressed blood sugar-induced breakouts, which was my main issue. It's what initially changed my skin. Since then, I've found many supplements to work well- magnesium, vitamin c, d3, zinc, and msm among them. Many antioxidants are powerful anti-inflammatories, and then there are those that address blood sugar, if that's behind your acne. Of course, I should probably include 'consult with your doctor' regarding supps that adjust blood sugar but if you watch sugar intake, stick to dairy that's rBst-free, and are wary of peanuts and soy, you might see improvement. It was night and day for me, like flipping a switch. Topical salt/water paste is good for spot treating, too. I prefer it to most OTCs and RXs for overnight reduction. And vitamin C serum and topical MSM are good for skin integrity over time. This answer should've been like one sentence but I hope you find the solution that works for you- you can totally beat it. Best luck!

    Hello! Can you please explain what/how vitamin c works? How does it differ from retin-a and when is it used? Can they be used in combination? Thank you

    What do you think of the Ordinary Retinol products and the whole Ordinary line? I've heard so much about this line from so many people but I most interested in your opinion.

      I would be interested to know your view of the Ordinary line also...I have been thinking of ordering their Hyaluronic acid and asking my doctor for Azaleic acid cream and Niacim cream...

    Thanks so much! What about these blue and red light masks that are on market now? Neutrogena does one. Promises to kill bacteria and improve scarring (more hyper-pigmentation, I assume) all in one go. Safe? Recommended?

    • @bixbybailey
      @bixbybailey 7 лет назад +1

      I've used a red/infrared/amber LED for about 10 years and it definitely helps with surface inflammation and helping mitigate acne and subsequent new scarring to a degree. The treatment level/time is important and I'm not sure how the Neutrogena unit measures up, though. I've used LED in conjunction with a C serum and sunscreen, and PIH wasn't an issue after that. I've not seen notable improvement in atrophic scarring with it alone but have read several accounts of it aiding regeneration following needling.

    This video was really helpful, thank you! I'm in my mid-twenties and have been acne free for around 2 years now. I've been consistent with a skincare regime including Retinol and BHA for the past year, but am still unhappy with my skin due to indented scarring. I have been considering getting Fraxel laser and am glad to hear you recommend it! Could you possibly suggest some tips on how to choose a laser/practitioner? There seem to be many options out there and it's quite confusing! Thanks so much.

      Same question, please! Dr. Sam, would you be able to do info. videos on the differences between fraxel laser, fractional resurfacing, fractional radio frequency, and maybe IPL and address the issues they each treat and the pros and cons when choosing a treatment? Thanks!

    Thanks for all the information you provide. Would still like to know of more MDs in my location that are really, really, educated in treating indented acne scarring. especially on older skin that's had some acne scar revisions years ago and with the normal loosening of the skin and loss of some fullness scars that weren't showing before are showing now. So hard to pick a good MD when you have to pay $50+ for every MD you want to interview!! I live in Minneapolis, MN, USA. Any advice? ( that's not me in the pic!)

    I have acne scars and hyperpigmentation, so my dermatologist recommended laser treatments. Is this a good idea? Or should I cancel my appointment? I would like to know more about the success rate of laser treatments and whether there's a risk of making people look worse than before. Do people ever get laser treatment for acne scars and then regret it?

    Hello
    I love this chanel! I use Isotrex for acne. would you use products that contain niacinamide alongside vitamin C products? I read that these two products can turn into peroxide when they mix. I love niacinamide but I'm worried about adding it into my regime. please help!
    Thank you x

    I'm 33 and have never been able to permanently rid myself of acne. I've been to the doctors, dermatologists and beauty salons. I've tried antibiotics and in my late teens/early 20s I was on roaccutane. These treatments always worked at the time, but once I come off them, over time my acne returns. Please can you give me any advice?

      Trying2bBeautiful I think if something is working you should continue with it. I love Retin A and I've used it for years. I've increased the strength but I still use the product. Maybe you should consider consulting a new dermatologist. Good luck!

    please, I am on retin-a and have no active breakouts. When I do dermapen for my scars it gives me a white pustule breakout that I was told was normal but it leaves hyperpigmentation scarring. What are you thoughts about using retin-a right away after the treatment since that has been the only thing to prevent 50% of the breakout after dermapen or should I stop dermapen treatments?? thank you

    • @goodiegoodygumdrops
      @goodiegoodygumdrops 7 лет назад

      Joelle R. I've never heard if that being "normal" after treatment... (You gotta be careful. There's a lot of doctors out there that don't care about you just your money.)
      Do you have just red/brown hyperpigmentation? Or is it more ice pick scarring?

    • @OMGJOELLE
      @OMGJOELLE 7 лет назад

      Mystique Darkholme yes I'm doing it for deeper scars but the dermapen breakout leaves brown hyperpigmentation scars. That is why I asked Dr.Sam 4 times to know if this is truly normal or I should go somewhere else. The white pustules appear the same night after dermapen.

      Mystique Darkholme lol I see that, I was hoping maybe just maybe she'd see my comment and reply, thank you for your reply, I guess my only option is to go directly to another dermatologist and explain my concerns. Have a nice day!
