  • Is that an acne scar? Acne blemish? What is it??
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) refers to the darkening of the skin that occurs after an inflammatory skin condition, such as acne or pimples. When a pimple forms, the skin experiences inflammation as the body's immune system responds to the infection or irritation. This inflammatory response triggers various processes in the skin, including the release of certain chemicals and the activation of immune cells.
The inflammation triggers an overproduction of melanin in the affected area. The excess melanin accumulates in the epidermis, leading to the darkening or discolouration of the skin. However, there are various treatment options available to speed up the fading process of PIH! In this video, Dr. Thean talks about everything you need to know about post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

@@SahilPatel-we6ie so it’s motnh 6 on accutane, they are becoming better very slowly ( but I had 6 years of acne before so have many red spots on cheeks area)
I’m gonna use cosmetic procedures to stimulate the healing - flash therapy is said to be very helping with color. A series of 5-6 procedures in once a motnhs is gonna do the trick I’m sure.
Gonna comeback here in spring and tell you the results

@@redmadff4902 man my skin never been better. Don’t doubt accutaine a not taking it 7 years ago is a regret I won’t ever overcome… start with it to stop breakouts and then work with post acne spots
I’m still taking accutaine on month 8 now and starting doing flash therapy - skin is healing nicely, although I have work to do!
