Touch Bright & Clear Cream has 10% Azelaic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, 3% kojic acid, and 3% Tranexamic Acid. It’s around $27. I can vouch first had that it works for PIH 👍🏾
Thanks! The moment I disciplined myself and apply sunscreen often on top of what you have advised to apply, the hyperpigmentation slowly fades away. It is still a work in progress, but patience is virtue.
Wonderful recommendations and tips, Dr. Liu! Some of my other favorites include Murad's Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum (very good for oily skin) and La Roche-Posay's PigmentClar serum. ❤️
I have lycan planus pigmentosis and has been treated for 7 years now with 1% protopic. So the inflammation and itchiness is gone but it left patches of dark discoloration on my face. Beside hydroquinone would your first product be the most effective without aggravating my condition. I live in two countries. Ireland and South Africa. The sunscreen I use is spf 50 halo gel cream.
Hi Dr. Liu, can i use Bioderma Pigmentbio Night Renewer Cream right after Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense Serum? Pigmentbio cream has salicylic acid and azelaic acid and Discoloration serum has 5% niacynamid acid and 1.8% tranexamic acid. is it safe for my skin? Thank you.
Thank you for the video Dr. Liu. I’m Asian, I’ve been struggling with dark spots on my stomach since I had Erbium as well as IPL lasers over 2 months ago, now I have some dark spots that I’m afraid it’s a post-laser hyperpigmentation; two dermatologists advised to have another laser treatment to treat the hyperpigmentation, but I’m still scared to have another laser on the effected area on my stomach; would you please let me know if any skincare (such as kojic acid, arbutin, azelaic acid, etc) can help fade my hyperpigmentation? 🙏🏼 thank you
Thank you! Your skin is beautiful and your a doctor, so I'll try some of these. And yes it matters that her skin is flawless. Not going to take advise from a doctor with busted skin.
Thank you for making these videos. I would like to know your thoughts about snail mucin, like Cosrx cream and Peach Slices Oil Free Moisturizer for adult acne-prone skin. Thank you.
Hi Dr. Jenny. For now on I treat my acne with benzoyl peroxide and I apply it on my face every night before sleeping. I have a question for you, is it safe if I wear cetaphil acne mattifying moisturizer in the morning while I also using benzoyl peroxide in the night?
Great topic and sound advice! Have you tried the Neutrogena Purescreen + tinted mineral sunscreen? It comes in four shades. I have been using it for a couple of weeks and so far, so good. 😊
Hi Dr. Liu. I have acanthosis nigrican and it’s created darkening on my face and above eyes…(raccoon affect). Would these products work in lightening my dark African American skin? I am working on my IR and hopefully it will fade as I incorporate my new diet, exercise, etc.
Dr. I am an Asian. After micro-needling, my skin became darker. I wonder if my skin would go back to my normal (lighter) color after a period of time? And will the hyperpigmentation products you talked about in your video help my issue? Thanks for your answer.
I'm so tired of fighting hyperpigmentation. I've already done 3 TCA Peels in six months and still have discoloration. Anyone know of any topical treatments that would be good to use post-peel? My derm recommended Cyspera, but I'm broke from the peels, and need to save some coin, LOL.
I'm a former biohazard tech, and the chemicals and constant sweat and stress made my facial tone sooooo uneven. I tried The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin and it felt like a shock to my face 😳 def still need a good moisturizer for ontop, anyone know a good one to pair with? And sunscreen?
You might want to consider adding hydrating toner. CeraVe is a good affordable one. HaruHaru black rice toner is really hydrating. As for moisturizers, I like the plain Up & Up (Target brand) moisturizing cream (I get the one from the body in a jar) to be good for everyday. If you want more intense moisturizing, I love the elf holy hydration moisturizer. It's intended for night but if you're in an environment that dries you out, you can use it during the day. If you're near a Trader Joes, I like their sunscreen. It's $6 and comes in an orange tube. SPF 30. Doesn't leave me greasy, no smell, and no white cast

Don’t you think 10% glycolic acid is too excessive in the la roche posay serum???

@@dr.jennyliu Yes, it's very new.
Great video! When using the retinol can I apply a moisturizer over it at night? Same question for the LRP B5? Or is it best to use them alone?
You should always moistruize after retinol :)
Yes always use a moisturizer with retinol and can use b5 before retinol

Yes it can but I recommend seeing a provider experienced in treating skin of color to get the best help for your hyperpigmentation
Omg this happened to me too, I'm Hispanic and after micro-needling my skin became darker in certain areas and I'm so upset about it 😢
@@dr.jennyliu Thanks so much, Dr.

Cyspera was just a waste of money for me. Didn't work. But I am a POC so it might work for light skinned people (if you are)
Have you tried using topical Faded cream, heard it works and i have seen lots of tik tok videos and reviews on it as well....
