I must say your honesty is rewarding in your shot tracing I’ve discovered when looking in to using shot tracing when editing a video to be shown with a shot tracer program that the ball shape can be …well let’s say …helped to show how someone would like the ball flight to look like they wanted It’s apparent your demonstration here is honest due to the curvature of each ball This was an excellent subject matter that we all can use and as you said … no one talks about Well done sir
Thanks! Yes the tracer can be manipulated a bit but hey, why bother? Nobody hits every shot perfectly. When I was learning the app I messed around with it...when you "adjust" the landing area it make the path of the ball look like it's doing things that a golf ball really can't do!
I had a lesson yesterday and the teacher spent most of the time on eye line and head tilt. Your video is timely. It’s huge in the golf swing but not talked about very often. Thank you for the video.
@@GeezerTonyI have a question about one of your previous videos. The one about age 70 (me) hitting driver long. You talk about turning off the arms and turning the body. Is there a certain part of the body you think about rotating through? Is it the chest? Or Legs? Or just everything? I like the feeling and seem to feel it the most by turning my chest through. Just curious what you think. Thank you again.
@@jawjuh1005 For me it is the hips. I want to feel the lower body turning far ahead of the arms and club. As if the hips and legs "pulling" the club and it is lagging far behind. A downswing start key for me is "left hip straight back don't pull on the club. If other thoughts work for you, go with it!
Geezer you’re right I don’t think I ever thought about eye alignment. I do try to get my head in the same place at setup but I guess that’s only half of it. Do you think it matters which is your dominant eye? That seems to be a big issue with putt alignment
I think for shot alignment, eye dominance is not a factor, they both just need to be aligned to the target (or the swing path). Think of it, when a player decides to draw/hook he will say "I align a little to the right, but keep the clubface at/near the target". What he is doing when he aligns to the right is he's also changing his eye alignment in relation to the target. As for putting, I found that my dominant right eye requires that I rotate my head slightly to the target, still keeping them aligned...so that I can more easily see the line of the putt with that dominant eye.
Didn't know Calvin did that -- wonder if other Pros did / do the same. Greg Norman, like many, would align his feet where the target line would be, but aim the club face where he wanted the ball to go then take a normal swing. He could hook or fade the ball around a tree or corner.
I think you mean aim the feet (and body) where the swing path line should be, and the clubface where he wants the ball to start? The ball always starts in the direction the clubface is pointed at impact. The path in relation to that clubface influences the curvature. Anyway, if you do it that way you don't need to change anything in your swing to curve the ball. That's how I do it too. Peete used his eye alignment to influence his swing path.
"Appears" is the key word here. These iron swings are with relaxed arms/hands even though it may not look like it. If I pull down with the arms I usually hit it left of just mishit it badly.

What a great tip. Thanks!
Another excellent vid. Well done.!
Thanks Nick, I hope it helps you!
Good video Tony very helpful 👍
Dang could it be that simple, I've never consciously thought about the eye line, rest assured I will from now on ....
Thanks

You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed it! I hope it can help a lot of players!

@@GeezerTony Thanks again. I will try that too and see which works best for me. You’re doing good work. 👍
Tony great video as always. Would love if you did a grip video also.
Thanks! The grip video is already made and will be posted in just a few days!
Cool!
Gad you enjoyed it!

@@GeezerTony Yes, that's what I meant to convey. I've done it, and pictured it, but didn't explain it well. Thanks GT!
Hey Tony, it looks like the "tilting head" and changing your eye alignement thought also makes your shoulders open or close, that right?
It can influence that on the downswing, yes.
Great tip, however, it appears that your swing is not the relaxed swing you have advocated in your past video.
