To me, the duke 390 after 2017 is already the king of 400cc in terms of torque, tech, weight, look. The newer Duke just makes the gap even wider compared to other 400cc bikes
The single cylinder holds it back for me. Plus the lower reliability and more costly parts arent as "beginner friendly". Z400 is just a better option for the price

I brought mine home four days ago. 100 miles of ride time and I love it! I am 6'1" and 220lbs. The bike is compact, but, not tiny. It is SO fun to flick through turns! The power is very manageable and won't get away from you. It still walks away from automobile traffic. I used to think I needed 70hp+, not with this thing.
Dunno about USA but here there’s posted upper and lower limits. 60kph is the lower end. But 399cc is good as it means a lower plate fee. At 400cc+ the fee structure changes.
@@Davidlouis3 I don't know what the regulations are in the rest of the world but in Europe for example, the duke 390 is on the limit of A2 license, which you can get at the age of 20. If you want a higher powered bike you need the A license which you can only get from an age of 24. If they drive a duke 390 as a "beginner bike" for 4 years and they can finally upgrade to a bike with a little more power. There is no way they would choose for a bike with a 100 cc more. They would always go for a 650cc or even a 1000cc bike...
@@alecd.6449 😂the market doesn’t evolve around A2 licenses mate, it’s about fun, people down size, or want something around 65hp for all sorts of reasons, I’ve got a ninja 1000, Tenere 700 and KTM 390 Adventure, but I’d swap the 390 for a 490 twin definitely

i looked it up and apparently this new motor has 0.2 more HP. kinda weird they went out of their way to redesign the frame and motor just for that, maybe its for reliability, or power delivery? weight savings possibly

I sat on 2023 KTM duke - handle bars are too close and too low, feels tiny and cramped. Unfortunately only good for short people. My BMW G310r has much better riding ergonomics
I have already tested many KTM models.. overall disappointing only the model above 1000cc that can give me some adrenaline.. handling and control is good but it has less engine power..

I love all the new performance gains but i still like gen 2 design better. Its lower and sleeker. This gen 3 is higher off the ground and looks more like a super moto. ill cop those wheels off ebay and throw them on my gen 2😜

Sir my duke250 bs6 has completed 25000km , pikup acceleration is weak .......during morning start engine idles unsteadily and stops.......while running l feel either bike misfire or petrol is not going properly bcs when I twist throttle initially the rpm lags instead of rapidly increasing. ....pls suggest your opinion.....should I change my clutch plates or fuel pump or should I go for throttle body. ....tps sensor......map sensor cleaning. ..?
