- Sarge heads to Chakan to swing his leg around the new KTM Duke 390 which now packs a more powerful engine, better electronics and fully adjustable suspension to take the performance game ahead. But these changes have also come with a price hike of Rs. 13000. Is it worth the extra dough and more importantly can it recapture the performance that the original Duke 390 blew us away with? Sarge gives it the beans to find out.

@@SagarSheldekarOfficialwhat about Karizma review ?
Hi Sagar ! Thanks for giving us undoubtedly extremely good videos through your channel.
On 29th of August I was expecting you at the grand launch of the KARIZMA XMR, for which KARIZMA lovers were eagerly waiting. In my opinion this launch event could have been better if we found you there and your feedback is important for many people like me,while we are planning to spend our hard earned money on a bike.
I therefore requesting you to give your feedback on this Premium product from an Indian manufacturer, it this justify the "Proud to be Indian" tag or its gonna be "प्रतिष्ठा में प्राण गंवाना "...please try to share your ride experience with KARIZMA XMR and give us a detailed review on this bike.
“That's not the reason you're gonna buy this bike. The reason you will is because of this”
Always remember these iconic words from you that give us goosebumps about this power beast!

Yea I too waited to see if he does that this time too 😢
Where was this scene in this video?? Was waiting for it, especially after you posted about it on Instagram. Missed it 😢
Everyone wanted to hear that from sarge. The entire time, I waited for the same 😢😢😢
Sameeee! Missed this and the wheelie to start the video!

I've had the last iteration of the Duke 390. Fantastic machine........but my memories are haunted by repeated fork oil seal leaks at just 4000kms on a bike that was never crashed or abused.
What caused it?
@@Qwerty_Man_123 Poorer build quality in India to reduce cost.
After selling the bike, i bought a 2014 Ninja 300 and only issue i have had is a broken starter relay. Nothing compares to the build quality of Japanese bikes.
Interesting to know that you guys got it with bidirectional quick shifter. We never got a quick shifter in the US. In fact, we do not even get it as a power part from KTM. We have had it for the new RC though, only as a power part and not stock.
Thanks for the review. We are yet to see this in the flesh here. Hopefully in the next few months.
They have had a make shift quickshifter on the last gen too but this one is more refined
Can a first time bike rider be advised to get this duke 390?
Yes , I own one people really make a whole lot of issue about it ..which I feel shouldn't be a concern if you don't rev it hard .. yes its a hooligan and does packs in Muscle but if your are rev-ing it softly it shouldn't be a concern !
I went from riding a Suzuki Swish 125 to a Duke 390 Gen 2.
Here’s my opinion on this topic:
1) The power difference is surreal. You definitely need a lot of experience before hand to control this power. But you can learn it, but ensure you don’t take the power for granted. Be less aggressive on the throttle and speed up only if you’re confident you can brake and stop.
Most importantly, learn rev matching and downshifting. On bigger bikes, just relying on brakes won’t help. Pulling in the clutch while braking is also bad practice.
2) I have crashed my bike, twice. And tbh it was my stupidity and lack of riding experience which lead to this. I’m not trying to discourage you from purchasing one, instead I’m trying to emphasise the importance of good riding gear. I walked away from both crashes without a scratch due to riding gear. And also, I did crash at lower speeds, I’m not saying that gears will save you at all costs. Depends on lot of factors, but at decent speed, it does its job to protect.
Final Verdict: If you do purchase it, take your time with the bike. Take it slow, ride it more to get better control. Go on different terrains. Be careful with the throttle, cause it definitely packs a punch. And get gear, especially for longer distances and touring.
And most importantly, the Duke demands attention on the road. Make sure you’re focused and reading the environment while riding, so that you’re prepared for any outcomes on the road.
Sarge never disappoints with the review. The best at what he does!

I bought the original duke 390 just because of your video please don’t make me fall for it again 😅
Watching the ending I think someone or KTM can design a seat which is for track use specifically... I mean taller and giving more space to the rider to move back by redesigning the pillion seat as well.
True that
I love Sagar's reviews simply because he is so passionate about riding and takes each and every bike to the possible limits!
Heck, none of the official propaganda of a given brand sounds so convincing as Sagar when he tells you whether a given bike is really good!
And I love KTM too! Thanks to KTM and Bajaj partnership, Indians as well as the rest of the world have got accessible performance - even though the current set of KTM bikes are way more expensive than the original launch prices - even now these are difficult to beat in terms of combination...
I am loving all the competition now happening where TVS is also trying to up the ante in terms of fantastic features in RTR 310...But with these updates, KTM Duke 390 is still much ahead of the TVS Apache RTR 310... Very hard to beat this one!!
That's what we called a perfect review of Duke 390 2024. Desperately waiting for this. Just love the way you explain everything. Really appreciate the hard work Sarge. Chao... 🏍️👍🏻❤️🏁🔥

Sarge and Duke 390 in a video and automatically you're reminded of the iconic Powerdrift 390 video, the video that got most of us hooked to PD and Sarge!! Man those were the gold old days when you could get a Duke 390 for less than 2lakhs on road, sigh!
Sigh
Great camera work. I love the panning closeups, and the slow-motion flybys. The Duke 390 is a great looking bike. If only you could remove that "sari guard" when making the videos because it looks so out of place here in the states. But my guess is you need it on there to be legal. If so, I understand.
KTM, can you please make a KTM 390 Duke using the Seatle Seahawks colors? Neon green frame and wheels, etc., and Navy blue for the side of the tank fairings.
I also see an extra sensor on the exhaust pipe for this bike in the USA. What is that for? Can we get those black heat panels on the exhaust here in the states?
Glad you enjoyed it
I still remember the 2013 Duke 390 review while u were in PD which was made to buy Duke 390 in 2015. Now after years again watching this review, I think repeats

SERGEANT!!! What the HELL man??!! I have a Duke 390 2018 model and now, after watching this, I am SO eager to get this one!!! Oh man! Bigger tank, better ground clearance, TC, Cornering ABS, Riding modes... my second Spiti Trip will be all the way more awesome!
When I got my D390, I was coming off from Pulsar 220fi. So, it was a major shift in terms of handling, tech etc. I never had the confidence to lean the way I do on D390, on my P220 then. It was a nightmare. Obviously, it had the Metz tyres as well which helped a lot. They are sticky but unfortunately, they wear out too much (a trade-off). Running on Michellin Pilot at front and Apollo Tramplr at rear and still quite satisfied. For most riders, Metz will serve the purpose as they ain't leaning like you do. I have a one last query. Does it retain the same sintered brake pads at front?
Thanks once again for this. D390 anyday over Apache 310.

We think between the RTR and Duke it is a 50-50 stuff. If you want raw power and performance with the right components to exploit, it has to be the Duke; but if you want more gizmos to play with not as manic power as the duke with a touch of softness for everyday usability and to some extent touring comfort (don't get me wrong....the RTR too has all components perfect for attacking the corners, but that engine is just plain lacking) the RTR will make perfect sense. One who buys the Duke wouldn't want anything more (or atleast can play around the tyres and the harder seats with aftermarket stuffs) but one who buys RTR might feel the engine being the weakest link in the package.
Nice review Sarj!👍
The top spec RTR doesn't stand a chance against the 390 because it doesn't offer the same performance and is only 8k cheaper. The standard rtr looks more promising
Still remember the best review of the first gen D390.. was waiting for this one from Sarge since pics of new D390 started coming out..!!

Can i get the jacket online buying link please...
Cheers man. Picked up the jacket in Thailand.
Please request KTM to build something with the LC4 engine! Their 690 Enduro is still an active model! The 690 Duke launched at a very economical price and can do wonders in India! The 390 frame is probably good enough for that engine!
4 KTM bikes (390cc) are there in My friend circle. Within 2 years the number of issues occur to all the 4 bikes with electronics and engine is unmatchable. The engine don't feel smooth after a year... its like a struggling engine that is pouring out that power just to match the spec. Beginner enthusiast bike for sure. But purchasing and keeping a single cylinder withh all the reliability issues comes with, its a deal breaker. Components and awesome spec on the sheet doesn't make a bike ridable and keeping it for long run..

Hi Sagar Now you have ridden Apache n Duke which do you prefer riding as an all rounder. Ofcourse Engine displacement there is no comparison but in terms of tech ride n comfort which do you prefer? From an audience point of view I feel RTR gives a better package my only complaint is the 11 litre tank in comparison to the 15 Litre in Duke. But will Test ride both n take a decision. Thanks for the review. Appreciate ur efforts. Ride safe.

@@SagarSheldekarOfficial thanks Sagar
this time you just wake up in the morning with sleeping attire and review DUKE 390 haha! awesome!
Which one should buy rr310 or Duke 390 for city commute and weekend highway drives for 200 km non stop atleast.
The standard rtr is a good option if you don't care as much about tech
The bore and stroke is same as triumph 400 . It's crazy how much difference just the tuning alone can do .
It's not the same engine
If i would be investing 3 lakhs ex-showroom i would be buying RTR 310, because of whole sweet of electronics it has to offer, earlier the VFM tech bikes were made by KTM only but now that tech crown is on TVS's head,if you look at RTR 310 it has everything practical which can be used the quickshifter is smooth ,the heated and cooled seats work's great for indian weather,it has cruise control to enjoy the long highways and that to lean sensetive,it has got traction, launch, wheelie, stoppie control as well,i mean they nailed the technology part clearly in the segment and also not to forget a TPMS system as well,i have seen 310GS Owners making a claim of 32-36 kmpl on highway, combining it with cruise control it makes it a good mile muncher as you get a range of 350 odd kms which is good enough for any rides to be done in india also it will not disappoint you in traffic as well the top trim RTR takes a win from my side.❤
The standard rtr makes a good argument but the fully kitted one at 3.04L is too expensive
Have been watching your duke 390 reviews since 2018. Will be waiting for more .

Sarge , I am confused between buying Duke 390 2024 or Adventure 390 . What's your suggestion?
For what purpose
@@SagarSheldekarOfficial For city and highway commutes and some offroading in a while.
You didn't mention about the heating of this machine. Is heating low compared to the previous generation and what about the heating in city rides and other traffic conditions❤
Couldn't test it in peak traffic but it seemed under check otherwise because the engine is less high strung compared to the older gen
The hooligan is back again with sarge, and lot of excitement ❤️

Are those Dominar mirrors, I see? 🤔
Is the ground clearance more than that of adventure 390?
Nope
I have not ridden the new TVS Apache, nor the new KTM generation three. Irmao, would you say that the 390 duke is now perfect or almost perfect ? , the TVS needs an exhaust that goes with the overall look of the Motorcycle, in my opinion. What suspension settings did you use on track and on the road ?
Both are the best versions of themselves other than the seat which is hard on both
Triumph speed 400 or tvs RTR 310 or ktm duke 390?
which is sounds best for you...hope for your reply brother ❤️
Speed the most practical choice
How's the fuel efficiency? I get about 25 km/L on my 2020 390 Duke, which I use mainly for commuting to work and back. I save so much money on fuel compared to driving my car, it's crazy.
This will be similar
Booked this yesterday's bule one, should i go for orange plz tell me which looks best
Blue is better
Previous generation 390s had wobbles at high speeds especially above 160 km/hr so, what does this new bike feel like on a straight line above 160 km/hr? Does it give good steering feedback and a sense of good stability at those speeds ?
Didn't have an issue on this one

Great review. For someone who's looking to have a 2 bike garage with one adv(him 450 or possibly the next gen ktm adv 390) and one naked/roadster, would you recommend the duke 390 or the speed 400?
