Larry would dominate today as he did in his era, maybe more now with better medicine. Remember, Bird played most of his career with a badly damaged back. Killer.

I think we forget that league as a whole was hugely competitive starting in the 80s. Sure Larry, magic, Jordan take credit but if it wasnt packed with bunch of others stars it wouldnt be as popular.

Slightly revisionist. Most people don't know that Magic is 3 years younger than Bird. Bird's rookie season was a borderline MVP season, while Magic's was a borderline ALL-NBA season. The fact that Magic had 1 monstrous all-time game in the finals. A game on the level that he wouldn't even have for the next 3 years. And now everyone is trying to pretend that Magic was the same level as Bird when they started.
Bird from 1988 onward wasn't in Magic's league either, but don't pretend that their on court impact was similar when they came into the league.
Agree, Bird was a top three player in the league from year one onwards and it didn’t stop until he did his back about ten yrs later.
