    Been waiting for a fresh review on this new Moken. I believe this will be my first kayak! Thanks for sharing!

    Appreciate you taking the time to make this video man. You convinced me to go with this yak as I’ve had the big fish 120 but found it a pain to load and unload from the top of my suv so sold it. Loved the space and stability tho. This moken is def a lot easier to transport and like you said it’s pretty stable for a 32” for sure. Keep it up the good work brotha!

    Great review Mike! Definitely a great looking kayak with awesome stability. It was great meeting you at the show and can’t wait to get out together this season.

    Has your kayak got a wheel .. if so, would this wheel be suitable for transporting the kayak, perhaps from a car-park to the water ... Or is it really just for beach use. ? It seems a very useful feature with the Feelfree kayaks, I’m surprised other manufacturers don’t adopt this idea.

    • @TheBassquatchHunter
      @TheBassquatchHunter  4 года назад +3

      Yes it has the wheel. The wheel has been very useful for sure. It is actually not for beach use since it does not work in sand. It works perfectly on hard surfaces. From the back of the truck to the water is exactly what it is for and I love the feature!

      Ditto. Works well for me everywhere but sand. If you had a really long distance to go I would get a dolly, but I’ve never needed one.

    Having the hardest time deciding between the seaghost and the Moken. As my 1st kayak. Doing a 4 day river trip this May. Thanks for the review.

      @TheBassquatchHunter  4 года назад +1

      Palm trader sit in them both and see what fits you better. The moken has the built in wheel and great stability, but you should sit in them both to see which feels better. The seat location and the way the boat is laid out will fit you in some boats and not as efficiently in others.

    Thanks for the review! Looking to finally buy my first kayak, after a trip fishing with a friend on his. I have been looking at this and the 3 waters big fish 120. Will mainly be fishing lakes, but I'm 6'1 285Lb.. so not the smallest of guys.. any other recommendations to look into?? Trying to stay around +/- $800

  • @Reshi313
    @Reshi313 2 года назад +1

    You mention it is 72 lbs. Some websites say the v2 is 85 lbs and others say 72 lbs. Which is it?

    • @TheBassquatchHunter
      @TheBassquatchHunter  2 года назад +1

      I believe the difference is that some weigh it with the seat and pod and some weigh it stripped down. Either that or one is the 10’ and the other is the 12’ and some of us mixed them up. I’ll look into that so I know the correct answer

    What's your paddle length for this review? Thanks

  • @Grandpa_RLP

    I really do like this kayak. I am looking to buy a fishing kayak and really don't want one longer than 12.5 feet. I am concerned about how stable it really is standing. I have been kayaking for several years but have never spent much time fishing as I have always had kayaks where you sit flat on top or slightly down inside like a Perception Pescador mainly pleasure kayaking down rivers. If I am going to be fishing from a kayak standing is a must but staying under $1000 and 12.5 feet is too. (I am 6 foot and 150lbs) Is this kayak my answer or is there a better choice?

    • @TheBassquatchHunter
      @TheBassquatchHunter  4 года назад

      RPTV it is a very stable kayak for sure. This one is one of the best for the price range for speed, light weight and stability. If you are looking for something a little more stable even and in the same price range, check out the big fish 120 from 3 waters kayaks. It is the same company. The big fish is wider, more stable and have even more room. But it is a little heavier and not as fast. It’s all about trade offs. :)

    • @Grandpa_RLP
      @Grandpa_RLP 4 года назад +1

      @@TheBassquatchHunter Thanks for reply. I have looked at the Big Fish 120 and it just seems like a tank. Seems if the Moken was just 1/2 to 1" wider it would be the sweet spot. :)

    • @TheBassquatchHunter
      @TheBassquatchHunter  4 года назад

      RPTV I agree. The feelfree lure 11.5 is the perfect mix and more, but then you are in the 1100-1200 price range, but with a lot more features, much better seat, built in wheel and more.

    • @Grandpa_RLP
      @Grandpa_RLP 4 года назад +1

      @@TheBassquatchHunter Do you think the Lure is that much better than the Moken? I am not crazy about the low back seat but I haven't sat in any of them.

    • @TheBassquatchHunter
      @TheBassquatchHunter  4 года назад +1

      RPTV the lure is really nice. They are both great boats, just different. The Moken and fast and lighter. But the lure has more stability, more deck space, built in wheel, much better seat and is a foot shorter. You can get a high seat back on the lure as well. That is how I have my dorado. The low back is very comfortable though too and once you sit in one, you can feel the support. But again, you can always change the back to the high back

    Would this kayak be good for going over rapids on Small rivers?

    • @TheBassquatchHunter

      It is definitely good for rivers. I have never tried it on rapids and I am not experienced on rapids. You can ask this question on the Feelfree owners group on fb and I am sure someone will have a better and more educated answer for you:)

      I was torn between the 2 ended up getting the 12.5. I wanted the 10 because it was lighter. the 12.5 isn't too heavy to load onto my roof and I like the dedicated space for the crate in the back.
