I took this exact model and colour out in the Salcombe estuary yesterday and took it through all the busiest traffic lanes with fast boats and speeding water skiers . This boat is the dogs bollocks. It is so stable and handles so well you won’t believe it. A lot of research must have been done on this hull. It is a little heavy with all my gear BUT it paddles well and the seat is a revelation. I paddled 10 miles in that day (searching for fish) and went out to sea three miles. At one point I encountered a strong current but after a ten minute hard paddle I was free. What a huge improvement on my previous ocean kayak which was unstable and wreaked my back like a torture rack. This thing paddled like I was sitting in a car seat. Five hours solid paddling and NO PAIN!!!!!! Thankyou feel free. Tracked really well without a rudder. However one thing. The feel free track adapter cost 39.99 is a total ripoff. Done on purpose for very greedy cynical reasons. This means you need the track adapter, a rod holder adapter and a rod holder. You’re talking 39,99 + 21.00+ 27.00 that’s 87.99 for one rod holder!!!!!!!! I need four!!!! Three hundred and plus quid for three rod holders and a cam holder. Ridiculous.

This will be my FIRST fishing kayak. Always liked the original Moken 12.5 but this V2 version with the stadium seat and sonar pod is a game changer. Oh and the wheel in the keel just makes life a bit easier.
I just got the exact same one . Can’t wait to get it on the water. My first impression was it’s big, but there’s no way I could lift it up like he did, and the wheel makes it hard to load on the my suv by myself. I will have to find a way to wedge the wheel. First impressions I love it. More later.
That is a sweet yak MooMoo. I love it, well put together. I’m just wondering if it comes in other colours? Thanks for the review, I left you a big 👍. Adrian
Good review, as always. Honestly, all these kayaks you're reviewing seem really awesome. Which one to purchase will be a difficult decision. Test driving/paddling will definitely be necessary. Interesting info regarding the wooden paddle.
Hi! beautiful kayak the Moken 12.5 V2! Unfortunately here in Argentina it is almost impossible to get and the representative of FeelFree stopped importing those kayaks for the value of the dollar. I hope I can ever buy one like this since it does not seem so expensive. Do you have any idea of the value of sending kayaks to Argentina? Regards
That's too bad you guys don't have it down there. I don't really know how much it cost to get one down there. I would imagine it would cost as much as the kayak 😢.
@@MooMooOutdoors yes, I've kayaked a couple times. I ordered a Kaku Zulu hybrid SUP and will start getting out and fishing on it next month when it's ready. 👍
@@MooMooOutdoors yes, I was going to get the Voodoo, but thought that having a pedal drive would be cool, so I got it too. I'm looking forward to getting btb with it and testing it out.
I've had my Moken 12.5 V2 for 3 months now. Best way to describe it is, it's a good overall kayak....jack of all trades, master of none. It has good stability (not great when you stand), many features that make fishing easier, speed is average. I find that it slows down very quickly as soon as you stop paddling. I was thinking of buying a Hobie Compass or Outback. What Hobie do you have and how does it compare?
Yes you are right. Jack of all trade and master of none. I have Revo 13 and had Revo 11, Old Town Top Water 120. Also fished out of Native Slayer Max, Hobie Outback and Compass. Check out my Revo 13 review. Outback definitely has more bells and whistles while being pricey. I personally like Compass more because of portability and simpleness. Stability and speed is about the same.
Thx for the review, it looks like a solid platform for a non pedal drive sit on kayak. Certainly a contender to the others you mentioned in the video. It being rudder rdy is nice and after installing one the price point is still similar to the vibe that I believe comes with one. Some speed and endurance testing would be helpful as getting to where you're spot is can be a significant factor in why you choose one vs the other. Seems like a good performer here and I like the over all setup as well as the look of it. Be well Moo PS TLA mentioned ask you about what I believe he called his venomous sandwiches? Regardless great stuff as usual.
Thanks for the input. Oh the TLA venomous sandwich 😂😂. In one of my video, I was showing a sandwich that TLA made and said "Vietnamese sandwich" but youtube auto caption showed "venomous sandwich." So ot looked like I was eating a venomous sandwich 😝😝
Nice review. I'm looking for paddle kayak that I can take into back country areas where it's really shallow and weedy. I'll have to take a look at that Vibe Sea Ghost. I look forward to seeing more reviews.
This Covid thing has me messed up. I am going to be getting a fishing kayak at the end of the year and can actually order the Moken 12.5 V2 now and get it in mid December. I currently own a 10' Pescador for recreation kayaking on Rivers. I have fished out of it and it is okay but not real stable and the seat is too low. I am going to be getting a fishing kayak with a raised seat like the one in this video. I am looking for one that paddles good but also stable enough to stand and fish. I really prefer to not go all the way up to 13' in length as it makes it hard for me to load, haul, unload and launch. This kayak is pushing the length. I have been watching videos on the vibes, top waters, feel frees and radars. The Lures are expensive and seem too wide to paddle well. Without a rudder they seem to not track well. I am looking for good paddling and good stability. I wish I could test before buying but Covid has everything jacked up. What is your opinion on the fishing kayaks out there with the features I have mentioned without spending more than 1300? (I like the price of the Moken 12.5 V2 of course)
It looks like you are looking for something under 13 feet, high seat and good paddleability. You might look into Crescent Kayak Lite Tackle. They now have seat riser.
@@MooMooOutdoors Thanks for your reply. I have definitely been looking at it. I actually do like it and it sounds like it checks all the boxes but it has zero add ons such as rod holders and paddle holder so I would have to buy every thing I added including the riser. This is 230-240 adjustable Navigator Angler Plus. I'm a short guy 5'7 and prefer shorter paddle. It really depends on what you prefer as long as you can dip you blade in the water in my opinion. Thanks brother
Can I put Overdrive pedals on v2?
Technically yes but there is no steering system for it, one that you steering with a hand. You'll have to custom build it.
Big like my friend great job 👍👍
Thanks John
How long is the paddle
I was using 230
Can you instal a pedal drive on there?
The drive does fit but it's not equipped with hand rudder control and I don't know if the hand rudder control can be easily intalled.
MooMoo Outdoors okay thanks.
3 things i didn't like head water i had a bad customer service twice i do like the feel free yaks i have the 13.5 n the 11.5 but i do get water in them about a gallon n i dont like how the drive is.it seem to be loose when u pedal plus i dont like the back rod holder wish it was just solid y if u flip your yak with the ploe it tends to strip the black plastic of witch will put more water in your yak n the back handle straps always rip. Thats me what about u
U should definitely demo the 10 foot version of the moken
I agree, I should.
Holy shit! That’s awesome u replied man but yeah I’ve been on the border of buying one but no one is doing a 10 foot demo especially on the water. That would be sick man
@@nickgarnett1566 yeah I'll do a moken 10 demo when this crisis clears 😉
Aight I got u man, thanks!
@@nickgarnett1566 Is there a particular reason why you are looking for a 10 footer?

Would be nice to add price points. Without them, I really can't compare.
