The Moken 12.5 V2 is an updated version of one of our favorite boats in the Feelfree lineup. Check out what's new and how this fishing kayak fairs in some windy conditions!
Took the Moken out for the 1st time. I bought it as a freshwater/secondary kayak that was supposed to be easy to use and better then my 15 footer for freshwater. I decided to break it in by exploring a lagoon. The lagoon was at the bottom of the valley and I had to wheel in the keel it all the way down, and then back up. A tremendous thing, very difficult, and totally awesome. The kayak performs well, as good as any other, but that wheel in the keel rules. My nephew can kayak now and he loves the wheel and the seat. A good buy and worth the money, that wheel in the keel is great and I wumped it through rocks, mud, and a mountain valley.....
good to hear this I keep coming back to this particular brand/model due to the wheel and people generally say the seat is comfortable And also it seems to have a good reputation for tracking well with or without a rudder.
Bought this in June 2020. Love it! I actually put my battery and transducer in the sonar pod. Kinda like what it was designed for. Keep other junk in a floatable box in front of the toe rests. Have to get the rudder, you complained about 10 mph winds, that's easy!
Great boat, bought mine 2 months ago and I've already got over 30 trips logged in on it. The only complaint I have (which it actually serves as a testament to just how stable and good this boat is) it could use another higher seating position, or some type of risers for the back of the seat. Great boat, I love it!
Currently in the market for a boat of this nature, and as of this very moment, the Moken 12.5 v2 is my number one contender, the only problem I have is the nearest vendor is over 5 hours away!
We just ordered our desert camo Moken v2s the other day. I have a Moken v1 12.5 and 10. I LOVE my 12.5, but I fly fish so I really wanted to stand and I wanted the 12.5’s nimbleness but ease of standing of the lure. As soon as I saw this was coming out I knew we were going to be getting us a couple. I sure hope they deliver. There’s just one thing I don’t understand. I have absolutely never had a problem with tracking in my 12.5. I even had it out in pretty good wind just the other day and it never once acted up on me, and that’s without a rudder. (My husband ‘s big fish was all over the place.) Do you all really get great benefit from a rudder in these boats? Mine is a dream to paddle all by itself. Grant it, I do come from an open canoe background so I’m a paddler.
Thinking about getting one of these but wondering how the moment 10 compares? Will be carrying on roof top rack of an FJ cruiser which sits pretty tall. Weight is why I might consider the 10.

I agree, I wish the seat was a bit higher. BUT, the seat is still SUPER COMFY.

I currently have this kayak. It cuts through the water really well. Soon I am going to get the rudder and a Bixpy motor!
That kayak looks very nice! Do you ship outside the country? for example to Argentina? what would it cost? Thank you!
Very nice job of explaining the motion of the kayak!! Do you sell them? And are they on stock right now?
I know I’m late to the party, but I’m looking to get a fishing kayak. I’m 6 foot 240 would this be a good kayak for me?

Nice review
hey man please, what length size paddle do you use?
Now that it has the sonar pod, can it be upgraded with the peddle power? Also do you lose any leverage on the foot stop when you add the rudder?
can't get the overdrive pedal system with the moken. BUT, you can put a Bixpy motor in the sonar pod.
how does it paddle up stream
I noticed that you have not replied to a single comment so I guess this question will be a waste. Is it truly stable enough to stand and fish?
Yes. :)
@@Valnoten too late I bought a Crescent Lite Tackle and not sad about it. :)
What size paddle did you use?
How do I get one of those hats?
Availability?
Still waiting😞😂
