Overdrive the front of everything , it seems to work great ! We are experimenting with Underdrives and Portal Box Overdrives now also . Thanks for the video Troy !
You will enjoy the overdrive on the Gen -8.I like the quality of the Treal parts I use ,on my crawler fleet.I do like the underdrive on the rear end I have on my Trx4 .
I just ordered a set of these for front and back, mainly because I keep breaking my pinion gears, does anyone else have that issue ? My original ones lasted awhile but the replacement ones from redcat are so brittle. I do have the treal housings and all new bearings so everything should be tight and smooth. I can’t figure it out. Hoping these are stronger
I love the body on the gen8, looks soo clean in green or purple 🦖😈. Reminds me of my grandfather’s old bronco. I wonder how the gen8 would do as a Baja/off road build VS just a crawler 🤔. As always thanks for dropping knowledge Troy🙏.
Interesting idea! I'm sure with some different axles and shocks it could be turned into a baja-style vehicle for sure. The portal axles might not like that type of abuse, but something like a Wraith axle might be great - especially with the wider stance. Thanks for watching!
In my experience, there is no harm with this level of overdrive. My TRX4 has a more aggressive overdrive and I never notice it. Has been that way for over a year. Long 2+ mile trail runs without an issue.
Like watching a Nascar pit crew work ! I don't have a crawler but love any kind of how -to video you make. Thank you for posting.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it.
I have these in my Predator comp Gen 8 and saw roughly 3 inches decrease in turning. Great product
Thanks for the tip! You got a better improvement than I saw!
That is good bro i liket 😎👍🏽
Thanks! Glad I can be helpful!

Thanks!
I might do the underdrive rear on this truck also.
Cool upgrade! I have the same set in the front of my Gen 8 Predator build!
Awesome! Did you do the underdrive rear also?
@@RoadsideRC No, just did the front
This was very useful thanks 😊
It would go well with those axles you just installed!
@@RoadsideRC ya maby
Niceness Troy. Have great weekend...
Thanks, you too!

I have been very happy with the TREAL quality so far.
Kool video thanks for sharing lots of good tips 😀
Thanks for watching!
Love watching your vids ..Awesome info
Glad you like them!
You should do a test of it climbing with the overdrive before you add the brass
Thanks!
I wanted to, but the weather has really not cooperated.
Right it has been pretty crappy lately. But also want to get with you about something so maybe get ahold of me on messenger
Sounds good.
I plan on hitting the Farrow Family Farmstead events and of course, Big Buddha's RC Ranch.
nice work there mate
*a big like for you👍Au👍full watch always*
Thank you!
Very good and great. thanks.
Thank you!
Awesome looking rig🙂 I have that over drive Gear i like it
I am thinking about going underdrive in the rear also. This didn't have as much overdrive as I thought it would.
Have you had any problems out of the treal gears I’m looking to do this on my gen7 with the v2 portal upgrade.
Nope! They have been very solid!
How do you remove the plastic wheel nut cover? Maybe just pull it off with a pliers?
If I remember correctly, it unscrews from the axle shaft.
Perfect upgrade dude👑
Very helpful...kip it up Lol
Thanks! Will do!

Good luck!
I have not had any issues breaking gears. That is an odd one for sure!

will the over drive affect it on trail runs
In my experience, there is no harm with this level of overdrive.
My TRX4 has a more aggressive overdrive and I never notice it. Has been that way for over a year. Long 2+ mile trail runs without an issue.
Does under/over driving increase strain or wear on the drivertrain upstream?
In theory, yes. However, I have been running them for years with no issues.
Is there any place to get the Treal overdrive? unavailable everywhere
I saw it at both Amazon and from Redcat (they carry Treal products).
It's really perfect upgrade and helpful like it

Thank you!
I need more OD. Treal has failed the Gen8 by not giving us portal OD gears!
How much total are you looking for?
@@RoadsideRC Around 30%. i have the Treal 18% diff, but really don't consider that enough to be beneficial. I mean it does help a little.
Well they fit on a wendigo
I am not 100% sure. I belive the Wendigo uses a different axle design.
Show us that chevelle
That is a planned video!
@@RoadsideRC Cool, looking forward to it
