Hi Anita, You look stunning in this dress, it is absolutely beautiful! The fabric is perfect for this pattern and really elevates the dress. Breathtaking, and you should be very proud. I think the self-covered buttons are perfect with the dress and blend in beautifully, so your attention is on the lovely dress and not the buttons competing. Thank you for the demonstrations on both the self-covered buttons and the sleeve facings. I am a beginner and have learned two valuable lessons! I will definitely be trying these. Kindest regards, Jill
Yaaaay Jill! I'm so happy to hear this because I have a special place in my heart for beginners. I'm glad to hear that you've learned something here today. Thank you for being here.
Your videos are so pleasant to watch. You are so informative in your instruction. The dress is beautiful and skillfully made. Thanks for sharing your talents.
I'm in love with this dress Anita. When I saw this dress, I just had to have the pattern. I love feminine things like this. So flowing, Just my style. Your videos are the best.
One thing I do with covered buttons is putting a touch of E6000 on the backing before putting them together. It keeps my buttons from popping apart. I also make 2 extra buttons and put them aside in my button stash in case I lose one. I have these tiny plastic bags I stick them in. I love the look of covered buttons. 🥰 The dress is beautiful. I will have to see if I have this pattern, if not I may have to get it as I’m a lover of shirt dresses.
Such a pretty dress, and so pretty on you! Amazing how well the clutch purse matches, too. Thanks for the help with covering buttons and lining the flounce - details make the difference, along with good fabric, as you pointed out.
I absolutely love watching your videos. Your teaching style is amazing! I personally love your attention to detail. It fills my soul 😊 Your excitement is contagious ❤❤❤ The dress is beyond amazing and beautiful!
@@AnitabyDesign May I ask where you learned to sew? Are you a seamstress? I am self taught and learned everything from videos and made my first dress shirt 3 weeks ago. It turned out very nice and my husband loves wearing it. I want to learn everything about garment sewing as we both appreciate well made garments and what you can purchase today is all “throw away” clothes that ends up on the landfill. I have tried to find a mentor to teach me but no luck. So I keep learning from lovely people like yourself. ❤️
Your dress turned out beautifully. I made this dress also. I made view B with view C sleeves. I will definitely be making view C. Thanks so much for the tip with the sleeves, I will be using this method. I too love Viscous fabric. Those cover buttons take the dress to another level! Always enjoy your videos. 🪡🧵👗🥰
Magnificent dress! The color and style is gorgeous on you! I just ordered the covered button device. What a game changer! Okay tell us how you lost the weight? You look fabulous!
Hi sissy....I know I commented on your blog about the dress, but yes this is gorgeous!!! Looks great on you and everything about the dress is in proportion, if that makes sense
I didn't want to make my comments too long.....lol. So, I can't remember if you have a video on doing gathers and also, will you be doing a Sew-a-Long on any particular easy to sew garment in the very near future. Thank you as always for sharing your delight with us ❤
I see you with all your separate comments. 😂 I don't think I have a separate video on gathers. I'm planning to do a sew along in the future but not sure exactly when. Having some work done in my studio right now.
Hello Anita! I love this dress, the fabric and your save for the flutter sleeve. I wonder is you will do a video on Marfy patterns. They are beautiful but I’m a little scared to try one out.
Okay, I look forward to reading the article about Viscose fabric that you posted on the blog, but do you know why some fabrics have white backing? I'm just curious. Also, I remember the other way you did covered buttons.... this is definitely a game changer and I look forward to getting one too. My mother would have loved this back in the day, I have to get her one too. I remember a lot of our clothes had covered buttons 😊
Yes! It's from Core Fabrics and the link is in the description box. corefabricstore.com/products/vibrant-floral-print-viscose-magenta-orange?_pos=1&_sid=b605cf202&_ss=r
@ I pressed it down so hard that I bent the button! My buttons don’t have those spikey things for the fabric to grip onto either so I had a hard time getting the fabric tucked inside.
What a lovely story - the dress now fits perfectly ❤
That button cover gadget is a game changer for real…I will be purchasing
it…!¡!👍🏾
Oh my gosh! What a work of art and you wear it beautifully! Great video and easy to understand instruction!
Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Thank you so much. I've never sewn a Marfy pattern. Perhaps one day.
I just ordered two yards of the fabric using your discount code
Awesome! Have fun using your fabric. 💕

I have no idea about the white background but that's a good question. Yes, you will love the button maker. 🤗
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Miss Anita, did you use strips from your fabric to make your buttons? Or did you get extra fabric for your buttons? You did a great job 👍
I used strips from the leftover fabric.
Hii..can you tell me where you purchased the fabric...definitely liking this one
Yes! It's from Core Fabrics and the link is in the description box. corefabricstore.com/products/vibrant-floral-print-viscose-magenta-orange?_pos=1&_sid=b605cf202&_ss=r
Thanks @@AnitabyDesign
I bought the button cover gadget but I can’t get the one piece to stay inside of the actual button.
Are you pressing it down until it's secure? I haven't had any issues.
@ I pressed it down so hard that I bent the button! My buttons don’t have those spikey things for the fabric to grip onto either so I had a hard time getting the fabric tucked inside.
How many yards did you use..total
I ended up using almost all of the fabric after cutting the extra sleeves.
