Most people outside of China would be amazed by the ingenuity and boldness of Chongqing's above-ground architecture and the complexity of its underground tunnels. However, the combination of the two words "Chongqing" and "underground" brings back bad memories for me, and for most people who know history. The first thing they make me think of are Chongqing's air raid shelters. In the 1940s, Japan invaded China, and the Chinese government relied on Chongqing as its last bastion of resistance in southeastern China. Japanese planes dropped bombs on Chongqing in large numbers. Chongqing is a mountain city, and many air raid shelters were built, both under cliffs and in the ground. Some were built by the government, while others were dug by private individuals. Almost every time an air raid alarm sounded, it would cause panic and stampedes. Under the constant bombing of the Japanese, many people were buried alive in air raid shelters and suffocated to death. At that time, Chongqing was the capital of China. The tragedy is long gone, and Chongqing is now a thriving metropolis. However, history has always been a warning to the Chinese people. Chongqing's large-scale underground construction also has this aspect as a reason. Not far upstream from Chongqing is the source of China's mother river, the Yangtze River. In the eyes of the Chinese people, Chongqing is a place where there is no retreat. Today, the vast majority of Chinese people support Palestine, also out of hatred for the violence of the invaders. This video is great. I watched it two or three times, but due to my own emotional reasons, it was hard for me to be happy. In any case, thank you for once again capturing the real China. Thank you, bro!
Wow! Wow! Thank you so much for these detailed insights! I had no idea about such history related to Chongqing. Going down those escalators left me intrigued and I figured it could be a good refuge incase of such situations as you have rightly explained. History can’t be forgotten but it can definitely help us shape the future! I just learned something new! Thank you 🙏🏾
@@WilleneBusinessLifestyle “History can’t be forgotten but it can definitely help us shape the future!!!” This is a golden sentence that is absolutely correct and profound.

What a fantastic escalator! I cannot express my gratitude for the great and glorious CCP for constructing this escalator to the people!!! It should be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site just bext to the Eiffel Tower and the Colloseum. This escalator makes my mouth water 🤩😛😜🤪😘😗😝☺️🤗🥰😍😂😃

Its 31 story deep, yet not a single piece of trash, very clean. Meanwhile in america, you cant even go 1 meter in a 1 story deep station without being buried in trash
Facts! It kept going down and down but I found no one piece of trash! I think it has become a habit in China. Littering is a no no for everyone which is an amazing aspect we can learn across the world! Glad you noticed that! 😊
Hahaha! Yes it does! I was left astonished as it kept going down without end! I think it it continued even a little more, we would definitely get to Argentina!🤠
I love how china put a maintenance sign, and there is actual a person who's maintaining at the moment, instead of left the sign there for 10 months with no progress😢
Seeing a brother as a china shill is comedy gold, I guess shillings is the only job you’re allowed to do in China , Stop it please , get out of there 🤣🤣🤣😂
If I was in the US, Africa or Europe making these videos, would you call it shilling? 🤔. I know your account might be fake but to the real you, “take a look deep down in your heart, what would be the reason why you reason and see everything as a shill?” That right there is your answer. Thanks for watching! More to come 🙏🏾😊💙

When you see Chinese subtitles in English speaking videos like this, this is an endorsement video in which he got paid by the Chinese government.
What an embarrassment this escalator for America is!!! Clean, bright, no homeless and efficient.

Amazing, length & steepness of the escalator. I find the one in Baker Street, London long & steep enough, one tenth of that you portrayed.
It really is!
Omg this is insane!! 😮😮
👍👍👍
♥️♥️♥️👍
That's one deep metro! I don't know what people do if they are late for work 😂
Looking forward to the next one 👊
Hahaha! I was thinking the same thing bro! I’d just walk to work!🤠
How are you bro, long time no see
Hey there Jimmy! Nice to see you around again bro! Thanks for stopping by! I’m cool thanks. Hope you too!
How do they even build stations this deep? /genq
I’m amazed too! Astonished Infact!🤠
I would like to know the height at sea level the entrance to the metro station is.

China will eventually have escalators all the way to the other side of earth! 😮
You want to hope you never need to walk up manually.
Oh Dangg! I never thought about that!😂 that would be crazy! I’ll just find myself a bed down there. Lol
