    I love my Kobalt Pole Saw - 80-volt - 5-ah battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Saw. No cable. Using an Oregon Bar and Chain. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees in the woods of our 20-acre farm. I carry it all over our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front.

    Thank you so much, for being so thorough! I had to go through several videos before finding yours! All I wanted to learn, was how to adjust the tension on the bar and chain. No one explained, till you! Thank You! I am a single woman, with little experience using these out door tools. I bought the Greenworks 80v Pro, I love it!

    I have used many power saws to cut wood or work in the woods in logging projects. I purchased the greenworks polesaw on sale for $67. Now that I am 82 years old I wanted
    a pole saw to cut limbs that are positioned high up. I was super pleased with the greenworks saw. This saw really cuts. You won't be disappointed.

    I have the older version of this pole saw.
    I don't use it very often, but when I do it makes quick work of trimming oak branches.
    I've been very satisfied with its performance and value.

      I am pretty impressed with it too, gets a lot done on one battery. I don't like how it leaks out the oil in the reservoir while storing.

      @@LetsDoThis321 My large gas powered chainsaw also leaks oil when not in use.
      Now I only need to use it if a tree or very large branch falls/breaks.
      For the Greenworks, I usually only partially fill the reservoir, estimating how much is needed for the task.
      When done I cover the blade and motor housing with two plastic grocery bags (one inside the other) and secure bags with a rubber band, hanging the saw with the blade more or less down.
      On next use it is easiest to just cut the rubber band and let the bags slip off the blade on to the floor.
      It's not a great solution but it works for me and the oil stays in the bags.
      It just occurred to me I should add a paper towel to the inner bag next time to soak up the oil

    I've ordered one. It comes up as the best tool for cutting Ivy, which I've been trying to do with a Gtech pole hedge trimmer/circular saw. It just isn't robust enough for the thicker growth and teetering on a step ladder, whilst trying to get purchase, isn't sensible. Hopefully this will solve that. Thanks for posting.

    Thank you for your detailed video. Currently comparing many pole saws and it seems most of them have the leaking issue (Makita EY403MP, DeWalt 20 MAX XR, etc.), perhaps best to just empty it after use

    • @LetsDoThis321
      @LetsDoThis321  Год назад

      yeah, I empty after use now. I have both the 24 and 48v GREENWORKS pole saws and chainsaws and they all leak. But to be fair my Husqvarna gas chainsaw and a a Craftsman plugin pole saw leaks too. I took the advise of a commenter and use a mustard bottle now to fill up and empty out zero mess and quick. I use it here in the 24Volt pole saw review ruclips.net/video/nX13580fOkk/видео.html

      have you removed the side plastic and bar and chain and cleaned all debris out. It is possible some pieces are wood are lodged in there.

    I just acquired one and using a chain saw for the first time.
    Wasn't sure what chain lubricant to use. Can I use the lubricant oil for car engines ? Are they the same?

    • @LetsDoThis321
      @LetsDoThis321  Год назад

      Chainsaw bar&chain lube is quite different then car engine oil. The chain lube will be much more tacky, like syrup. You can pick this lube up at any big box hardware store or even order it from amazon amzn.to/3UwV4CJ (#CommissionsEarned and helps support the channel at no cost to you). I've used Husqvarna for many many years but any brand will do you good.

    Mine has leaked oil from day one while storing. I've tried storing it in every possible position. So now I just drain the oil out of the reservoir after use. How has your experience been with oil lubricated saws?

    • @TheClaudos
      @TheClaudos 3 года назад

      Hi. Just saw your comment. Although I am still using petrol garden power tools; with the weed eater, I still empty out the petrol before hanging up vertically on the wall for that very same reason you've experienced and to reduce flooding of engine with petrol that may be stagnant as well. Recommend people do the same if possible.

      @@TheClaudos Do you know if all pole saws have this oil leak problem? I love my Greenworks weed trimmer and want the pole saw but I'm wondering if the oil leak means I should find another maker or not.

    • @genttn8451

      I have a regular Greenworks 40v chainsaw that leaks oil when not in use. It may help reduce oil leakage during storage if you loosen the oil cap. That apparently reduces pressure.

      Are you using bar & chain oil in the reservoir? I've cut hundreds of 1" to 3" branches on the original chain and 2 years in it's still cutting aggressively. One thing to note is that most branches are green, I don't cut very many old dried out branches.

    • @engdina81

    How did you disassemble the polesaw?

    • @LetsDoThis321
      @LetsDoThis321  2 года назад +1

      I have this saw in both 40 Volts and 24 Volts. Now for this 40 it easily disassembles the reverse of assembling. The poles fit nicely together not too tight.
      With that said, my 24 Volts which is built exactly the same. I found the poles go together really really tight and when you tighten the collar it really presses the links together extremely tight. For this one once I unscrew the collars I have to wiggle and pull with all my might and poles slowly inch their way off... Just a real pain to get them to pull apart.

  • @dickvoce4461

    The hedge trimmer attachment with the long pole makes using cumbersome and hard to hold up. Returned it to Amazon

    • @LetsDoThis321
      @LetsDoThis321  7 месяцев назад

      For the 40V model I only have the saw attachment, but on the 24V model I got the saw and hedger. I found the hedge trimmer is horrid gets jammed on any twigs larger than an 1/8", so I have not used it or tried it yet with the pole extension. Even without the extension when I used it for that short period I thought the hedger was awkward, maybe it has to do with the handle piece and the bulky motor housing.
