- In todays video, we build our intake manifold. We machine the components from billet Alu on our Shapeoko Pro XXL with some sheet metal fabrication for good measure.

I’m just about to jump into my Shapeoko Pro and want to do similar so this is great. Absolutely agree it’s a learning process!
really enjoyed watching this. cheers for spending the time to knock these videos out
Awesome job! I'm completely blown away by both the craftmanship AND the Shapeoko killing those flanges. Just waiting for my own Shapeoko 5 Pro to arrive and this video didn't help with the wait at all lol!
You’re living the dream. Awesome work man.
Just found this project and love it. My very first car was a brand new '99 k11 and I loved it... till it aquaplaned into the back of someone at 40mph, brakes doing nothing. Always wanted another at some point as the k11 chassis just handled like a go-kart and the paint was thicker than the metalwork so it was almost as light as one! This QG transplant mated to original gearbox is making me want to revisit the idea again. Beautiful work on this intake too, really nice. Can't believe the quality of parts you're getting off that little CNC, and to be able to do most of it in house is sweet!
giz that looks fantastic, top fab work some of the best ive seen
Nice work on both the Video and the Fabrication 👍👍
Thankyou!
Wicked work - even a seasoned machinist wouldn't do any better on that shapeoko i reckon! Love how you formed the plenum body with the split piece of bent tubing too. Clever as!
Amazing work as usual 🤩
dude you got the machining process down! your Tig welding is pretty spectacular too lol 🤣 congrats on your Haltech sponsorship, that's a huge amount of expertise for ECU and electronic wizardry without the need for blood sacrifice which is also a good thing 🤣. I'm based just outside Bristol so we'll be coming to see you race when we get some time. love the channel 👊🏻
Nice
Very enjoyable indeed!
Look forward to seeing the next vid.
Nice 👍 see you on the weekend
Brilliant work
Stunning work
Sick work! Looking crazy
So much work. Must have cost a fortune.
Thanks for sharing this project ❤
I wonder if it would cost less to send it to a manufacturer with a SLS printer?
It wasnt cheap. But i can say i built it from scratch!
You got really good on that big boy
Great work!
beautiful job!
Quality mate looks awesome
Hey bud be it ever so small it is wonderfully shaped lol
Good good good job 😍
Your surveillance monitor isnt very happy about the HF start 😅😅. Good job btw !
@24:19 is worth the watch....
Brilliant work.
What Tig settings did you use for welding the base plate to the runners etc. Please
I want this parts 😍😍😍
We can sometimes do custom!
Love the content and video but man that music makes me want to pull my eardrums out lol
Free music doesnt sound good.
@@GizFab there's some license free house and trance tracks on 1 of the youtube channels but cant remember the name off the top of my head
@@GizFab ruclips.net/channel/UCAHlZTSgcwNNpf8LV3E6kDQ
@@peglegmotoring Problem is, it starts off being free, then when they sell the music to be licensed, all the videos that used it then get pulled. I pay for a license to use these tracks to avoid it. Downside is spending hours trying to find something thats half decent to play in the back ground.
Well done amazing work i want one lol 😆 👏 😄
Nice project.. what clamps are those holding your stock on the cnc.
Hi GizFab, I'm looking to make a completely revised intake manifold for my VQ35DE on my 2003 350z. I would like to learn which software you recommend to model the parts and if there's any tutorials or channels where I can learn how to make a 3d model and then possibly 3d print or get made in aluminum. Are there any software that can simulate fluid/aerodynamic flow to ensure the manifold can actually flow properly before installing?
Fusion 360 can do all the above
Thanks a lot!!@@GizFab
Just wondering. Why is the inside of the planum plate not flat? Why do you have the those rings sticking out where the four air intake holes are?
Velocity Stacks, Just machined into the base plate rather than welding in traditional trumpets
@@GizFab absolutely fine jobe! But i still don't get why on the inside of the plenum you got the velocity stacks sticking out. It could have been flat and then nice rounded edges into the intake tubes? Plate was thick enough.
@@dennisbreeveld6842 Plate was thick enough for sure for a nice radius. I wanted to make the inlet track a little longer than the room i had to play with, so by having them protrude into the plenum space gave me that extra 10mm
What were the dimensions of the pipe used? Wall thickness and overall diameter?
hi, i'm in the process to create a 3d model intake for my engine but i struggle with the angle of the injector bosses. How did you choose the angle of the injector bosses?
By measuring the Factory Manifold.
Cuanto cuesta la máquina cnc que esta utilizando y cual es su nombre
Shapeoko Pro XXL
what gauge material did you use on this ?
2mm On the tube & sheet.
Do u happen to do custom manifolds ? or 1 off jobbies ?
I take on custom work time to time.
Hi what you use name this program 3:15
Fusion360
Noice
Will u be selling them on ur website
This is to suit the QG engine. Not the CG
Would you or will you sell the bell mouth plate????
I mean sure. But this plate in the video has the ports specifically spaced for the engine. is it for a QG Engine?
@@GizFab Do you still make these? I have a ga16de the port spacing is almost exactly the same as the QG
@@GA1.6T GA is totally different to the QG.
@@GizFab Yes absolutely, but they have a lot of similarities( At least for the QG18DE )
The port spacing and length look very similar too, do you have dimensions of the plenum plate still?
I have both Dimensions on File. the GA16 Port spacing is Miles apart from the QG Series. They will not fit.@@GA1.6T
Fuckingvawesome me old bean 👍🏻
your music is 3 times the volume of your speech. im tired of adjusting the volume back and forth. im not going to watch anymore.
This is an issue on some devices. Specially if watching on a TV. They ignore the volume level of the audio channel. I can’t help this, sorry.
@@GizFab i watch using a computer sound system. i guess what im saying is you have such good stuff avoid putting that stupid music on. i watch many videos and everybody seems to think that loud music is a part of every great video. its not. you can do something about it. either make it all music or all talk. that wat i dont have to cycle the volume up and down 30 times during a video. that 1 was the worst.
@@gregoryperkins2180 We use music in the parts with no talking. To make the transition easier the music track is played over the video in a lower volume and then raised for the parts with no talking. common practise.
@@GizFab i know what you are doing. im mearly giving you feed back. im here to watch you design, engineer, build, and run different turbo comcepts. ive been building turbo combinations for over 40 years. there is no need to blast the music any different then when you are talking. also im from america and im sure there are people from all over the globe that really dont care for that shit you call music. you have to decide whether your technical work can stan on its own without thinking that blasting techno is really an enhancement on a video. it you want to blast turbos spooling up and waste gates blasting my ear drums im all for that but youve made it difficult for me to watch your videos having to lower and increase the volume 30 times during a single video.
