When I first heard that a BR was going to try to be competitive with a comp scene and ranked system, “teaming” was my very first concern. A lot of people don’t realize that players can “team” without it even being blatant. All you need are 6 guys who agree to not shooting each other- a soft agreement between them and they don’t even have to hold the same exact same position on the map. This alone gives them an advantage. You can sort of see this play out towards the end of a comp circuit, where one teams needs a W to win it all. Other teams will specifically push them and forego shooting other players. It kind of makes me think BR will always lack a certain amount of competitive integrity.

Actually this is one of the main real reasons for doing ban waves, when you ban individuals one at a time while yes it does also to your hand at the way your tracking them, the other reason is also that when you do a ban wave, everyone using a specific cheating software will then charge back on the purchase of said software. Most of these charges are done via 3rd party pos sales like PayPal, filing a charge back just takes the money straight out of the other individuals account. So when you ban thousands of people in using this software at once it actually really hurts the cheat developers because the wake up one day and there's thousands of not tens of thousands of dollars just scooped out of their accounts. Honestly if I woke up one day suddenly thousands of dollars in debt I'd probably never dev another cheat program ever again.

If you're talking about steam charts, you should remember there are console players and origin players as well. Also in steam charts you see the peak, not the unique players from a whole day/month. But yeah, 200k bans is pretty embarrassing.
They should have apply a system where players that reported the cheater be notified like mobile legends, it's really best and beautiful system so players also knew if the report system are working or not
A crutch for most FPS players when they lose to someone is saying the other person is cheating. I’ve put in hours in both PC & Console. PC in season 19 & 20 was insane with cheaters but it is not nearly as bad now in season 22 as it was then. Respawn has been doing work & I e enjoyed the game a lot more these last two seasons.
Easy Anti-cheat does nothing. The cheat makers already know how to work around it. They need to move more logic to the server and apply AI to detect patterns that indicate cheating.
My friend who is not a cheater is still banned and he has Valkyrie's prestige and heirloom, submitted 3 disputes and they were rejected by AI. It's insane. Also he was never toxic, in fact never even talk or chat really in-game, and he is just a pretty good player but no where near preds or pro players yet still get banned for nothing.
That's basically been the Respawn response to literally every complaint from the players - a self-congratulatory backpat. When everyone was raging about how bad the ranked system had become, they posted a bunch of charts saying how good things were.
They need to regulate the account creation such as needing a working credit card attached at the account creation where they may fine you if banned or needing some sort of telephone or something.
To EA: Btw we don't need more channel of reporting cheat, as long as the in-game channel work and EA is actively monitoring it. The best that can happen, is we can see cheaters get live banned before each game ends. That's the immediate feedback that we know reporting works. If is can't happen that quickly, an email back telling us you have validated, it is a real cheater/not cheater and you have took action on it would be really nice.
This blog post is literally them just saying "oooh look how many cheaters we banned but we're not gonna do anything to actually keep cheaters out of the game"

As an australian that is forced to play on high ping in asia because our region is dead it's brutal. Most games have chesters still hopefully all this can actually make a change. Cheating must be killing the Singapore servers. Previously a very popular server has now become a decent wait in que. (Singapore & hong kong) Are by far the worst for cheaters
I've seen a lot of soft aimbot and wall hacks this season. Reque while spectating in BR and killcams in mixtape has me spending more time actually watching how I die, lots of people just starting at walls, then popping up and shooting at someone they shouldn't have known was there.
Verifying identity linked to an account like valorant does would cut down significantly on cheaters using multiple accounts I feel like a lot of the cheaters get banned and just move on to a new account. The cheat devs literally sell boosted accounts with the cheats from what I’ve heard so how many of the 6 mill bans were the same people if most of them have 3 or more accounts..
Cheater who get their free apex account banned : “Oh no!!!….. anyway here’s a level 50 account I bought earlier for 4 bucks! Spin up the aimbot boys, looks like farming ranked is back on the menu!”
Anyone else getting shot through doors and around corners every single game? Seems like the lag abusers are outnumbering the normal players this season
One thing that should be done to make cheating not that much attractive: In order to play ranked you need to identify yourself. Yes I mean it, you should have to do some identification process like you do when opening a bank account - this used to be a normal process for competitive gaming on LAN parties - show your ID or otherwise you wont be able to participate . Additionally Ranked should be only possible with a battle pass - of course then we need to get back to paying for the pass.
I like that they’re trying to be more transparent and that they’re making an effort. However, releasing a live service, free to play game without an anticheat that is capable of insta banning things like aimbot is no different to releasing a completely unfinished game. I can’t be the only person that feels this way. I don’t like the idea of emptying our wallets even more for this game, but I hate knowing that even IF they manage to ban a cheater which clearly is a low chance shown in the data, they will just be back in a brand new account in half an hour. It’s simple. The anticheat needs to be good enough to ban cheaters in less time than it takes them to just make a new account or there needs to be some kind of paywall for the game. Not to mention we don’t even have a way to report someone for using walls even if it’s blatantly obvious in kill replays in LTM’s and stuff? I’d like to hear them comment on what they’re actually doing about the wall hack situation because they only ever seem to get banned if you’ve got hideouts phone number and a bunch of followers.
I got banned for a week bc I said the word 'trash' in text to my teammates. Imagine it actually worked like that for cheaters or things that mattered 😂
It's worse than yours too, you are banned for a week, he is banned permanently, it just sucks that EA/Respawn doesn't even care to check the account properly. Those who can dispute the bans are only streamers and content creators.
These stats all look great on paper, but without hardware bans they're literally useless. It takes 2 minutes to load up a fresh account after being banned so why would cheaters be worried 😂 every single ban a new acct pops up
Honestly this season went the way I expected it. Initial fun for the first 2 weeks. Then players realize so many things are messed up. This season is by far the worst performance hitting season. Both on console Series X and PC. Lag, packet loss, hit reg, AUDIO. People think the report tool doesn't work because it doesn't when the same cheater can just make a new account. Unless the system can catch cheaters accurately and in a timely manner. It doesn't matter if they get manually banned. They already did the damage. The system NEEDS to catch someone blantely aimbotting. How any player can speed hack and no alarms set off is just sad.
Wish there were a way for them to receive clips of your spectating POV so that they can bean teamers right away. Speaking of which, they need to directly address the teaming problem in high rank console lobbies. That is stuff is cringe
Are Bots invading American servers now or did EA implement their own fill in bots? I just got 2 bot games in a row in Oregon servers. These bots seem more capable and actually gear themselves and walk into zone, but it seems they can still get stuck and die in zone. They seem to act like the Battle Royale bots but they actually shoot you.
Rather than banning accounts the easy solution is to either IP ban or Hardware ban the repeat offender. This step is not only going to make their job easy but It will also stop the cheaters joining the game even if they decided to come back with a new account. It can't get any easier than this.
No, got killed by a cheater with blatant aimlock 2 days ago, he killed our squad, then stayed afk for a minute, then proceeded to kill 11 people, got to top 3, and got killed cause he moved and positioned like a bot. Didn't play since
12 seasons of stacking in PlayStation lobbies. Same kids same stackers same pred badges. To fix it ya first gotta work on it. I say it again it’s ruining ranked for the high tier players. Sorry for the aggressive attitude but it’s honestly how I feel.
Any time I've ever flaggeg cheaters or reported bullies & quitters I've apon starting my next game been left solo in a squad game or have my party missing a player. That is 100% of the time. So there is also an anti report policy in play here.
If they’re averaging the same amount of bans per month, wouldn’t that just suggest they’re banning the same people over and over? So, they’re really is no progress, especially when they say they’ve, in total, banned less than 9% of total accounts. I would have expected a much higher number, somewhere between 15-20% of accounts. (Not players)
The only thing that can save multi-player gaming is a real AI anticheat. Fingers crossed that Valve's Vac-net 3.0 works out and can be used to help other games too.
Not abusing the report function is equally as important as reporting actual cheaters. The amount of false reports of legit payers out of frustration must be nuts. Please don't spam 8 reports for every possible reason when a sweat kills you. Devs shouldn't be wasting their time reviewing false reports. If somebody is sus go for it, but pick the right report option and do not spam.
Hopefully this brings some clarity as to how difficult it is to “fix” the cheating problem. It seems to be incredibly resource hungry and provides little return on investment in terms of actual results (cheaters will just evolve).
@@sechabatheletsane9784 what the devs doing is so low impact. the next big thig is AI anti cheat that can analyze your gameplay in real time. every other attempt is useless at this point.
If someone is detected as cheater, they should instantly get shadow ban.. put em in bot lobbys with other cheaters.. not wait till ban wave to remove them since they will be ruining games left and right in the meantime
Hardware Ban would be the best, but if there is any game i would not want it on.. It would be apex. The concern with hardware bans, particularly in games like Apex Legends, is the potential risk if a hacker gains unauthorized access to the system without detection (Just like what happened on ALGS with destroyer even if that is on a different situation). Now, imagine if someone were to fully hack Apex Legends and compromise all the computers connected to it, exploiting vulnerabilities at the hardware (kernel) level.
I definitely am seeing cheating this season. I had a blatant aimbotter using a sentinel the other day in ranked. There are a lot of sus players that feel like they have impossible accuracy and recoil control as well. It feels like a large part of the population in pred lobbies use chronos.. I’m on console.
My secondary account got banned (not a smurf) just an old XBOX gamertag from 360 that i used when i bought a xbox one and xbox one had free offer for 3months of you signed up as new. Now since ive clarified... I was banned for "in game exploits/ aim snapping onto targets" i play claw RH and have high sensitivity. Respawn is banning upon reports..
Someone inside Respawn is clearly on the side of cheaters so them being like "we can't talk about a lot of this publicly" is just kinda funny. They really need to audit their team lol
This probably will never happen but if they actually incentivised it more people would report them. Like reward it if it was an actual issue monetary wise would be too much for EA I'm pretty sure in a perfect world they'd implement it 11:10
I only know that a lot of games like gacha games and stuff barely have cheaters and those games are the most profitable on cheating because you have to pay thousands of dolars or whatever currency you use, in my case €, to get a character maxed out (with non farmable things), and still there are little amount of cheaters and they get ban fast enough. They also use kernel anticheat, so idk whats the diference. Maybe its because of the in game currency skyrocketing in a blink without any payment registered idk, but anticheat should detect aimlock and those sort of things, right? When you deal multiple headshots with the aim locked to the enemy head while the enemy moving, etc (i say this because you can sometimes deal only headshots to an enemy that is afk and in front of you and you shouldnt get ban). Idk, they must have a way to easily detect weird things along side background programs that interact with the game like with cheat engine for example
Easy Anti Cheat WAS appropriate when the game first started, it need easy integration to get it up and running. We get that. But with the overnight success and became a mature and profitable game, IT IS NO LONGER A VALID ARGUEMENT for EA to stick to EAC and not maturing and move on to other anti-cheat system that is more robust. It should be planned investment that scale up along the revenue and profit.

If you're talking about steam charts, you should remember there are console players and origin players as well. Also in steam charts you see the peak, not the unique players from a whole day/month. But yeah, 200k bans is pretty embarrassing.
Thank you for addressing the APAC cheaters. Its time and we all know this zone needed this the most.
“Continuing to implement safeguards faster than ever”
Sounds likely bad commercial. Nobody believes them 😂
Easy Anti-cheat does nothing.
They said 🤓 "uhm actually we do a great job vs cheaters you all should applaud us not be mad at us"
Let's see you fight them bud.
That's basically been the Respawn response to literally every complaint from the players - a self-congratulatory backpat.
When everyone was raging about how bad the ranked system had become, they posted a bunch of charts saying how good things were.
What about strike packs and cronus zens plaguing console lobbies
Still rocking zen no problems
@@Jeff-gc2sb Why even cheat on console? You know how pathetic that is right?
@@ded4evrr it's fun! Why else?
@@Jeff-gc2sb "It's Fun" is entirely cope. Just say you're bad at the game and move on. We got 0.6 aim assist on console and you still need help.
So. Given the numbers, what is the percentage of cheaters? How likely is to fight cheaters in each match?
What they’ve effectively said is, “There’s nothing we can do, but we’ll notify you as we ban repeated accounts.”
They need to regulate the account creation such as needing a working credit card attached at the account creation where they may fine you if banned or needing some sort of telephone or something.
Lots of kids who play that don't have CCs or Phones though.
This blog post is literally them just saying "oooh look how many cheaters we banned but we're not gonna do anything to actually keep cheaters out of the game"
this is how I read it too. a lot of words and infographics yet nothing changing
@@DAnoChannel they repeated themselves like 4 times on multiple different things, it sounded like something I would turn in for homework in highschool 😂
I got perm banned bc of text chat 😔 idk why the don't just give me a perm text ban 😔
I've seen a lot of soft aimbot and wall hacks this season. Reque while spectating in BR and killcams in mixtape has me spending more time actually watching how I die, lots of people just starting at walls, then popping up and shooting at someone they shouldn't have known was there.
Good to know they haven’t banned anyone for any other reason, like smurfing, toxicity, teaming, or sabotage
Cheater who get their free apex account banned :
“Oh no!!!….. anyway here’s a level 50 account I bought earlier for 4 bucks! Spin up the aimbot boys, looks like farming ranked is back on the menu!”
First, reports about cheaters getting unbanned... now reports about 1M bans and counting. I sense something fishy about that.
Anyone else getting shot through doors and around corners every single game? Seems like the lag abusers are outnumbering the normal players this season
It's the Asian players playing on NA and EU to avoid the cheaters.
This is why region lock needs to be a thing.
Hmmm.. parts of Asia has laws against cheating too, so maybe that is why they have extra coverage there as well.
They can't ban Script users
100,000 bans per month, doesnt mean anything if youre just banning accounts on a free game. They just create another account
Exactly
My friend who is not a cheater is still banned and he has Valkyrie's prestige and heirloom, submitted 3 disputes and they were rejected by AI. It's insane. Also he was never toxic, in fact never even talk or chat really in-game, and he is just a pretty good player but no where near preds or pro players yet still get banned for nothing. It's worse than yours too, you are banned for a week, he is banned permanently, it just sucks that EA/Respawn doesn't even care to check the account properly. Those who can dispute the bans are only streamers and content creators.
Maybe don’t be a douchebag :)
Playing the LTMs on console and the amount of blatant wall rats tracking through walls while 6 maning is insane
They need to go after the cheat makers irl, take them to court and fine/ jail time for them that will help the most
That's why most pirates/cheatsellers base their operations in third-world countries where laws are irrelevant.
thats not happening lil bro they are all in china and places like that
I think they are jist sharing "some" details to prevent the cheat devs to understand how the anti cheat works
nah just got killed by a cheater as i speak
proof?
cheaters are rampant in team deathmatch
nah that was me, you just bad
maybe ur just bad 💀
I believe you i see so many cheaters in plat and up right now low level accounts hard aimbotting created this season to carry previous masters/pred.
Didn't play since
cuz you are on pc that’s where you messed up buddy
Got a week ban for trash talking to bot teammate who got boosted with his friend in ranked. Diamond matches.
(Not players)
would it help if they forced you to link the apex account to a phone number.
More than 6M accounts banned SINCE LAUNCH.
I Bet that more than half that is just cause of typing curses and not cheats
Bans dont matter in a f2p game
The only thing that can save multi-player gaming is a real AI anticheat. Fingers crossed that Valve's Vac-net 3.0 works out and can be used to help other games too.
Not abusing the report function is equally as important as reporting actual cheaters. The amount of false reports of legit payers out of frustration must be nuts. Please don't spam 8 reports for every possible reason when a sweat kills you. Devs shouldn't be wasting their time reviewing false reports. If somebody is sus go for it, but pick the right report option and do not spam.
They should focus more on low level accounts cause those are the main ones who’re cheating which will get rid of cheaters more often
Hopefully this brings some clarity as to how difficult it is to “fix” the cheating problem. It seems to be incredibly resource hungry and provides little return on investment in terms of actual results (cheaters will just evolve).
Thats why apex was randomly updating last night.
It still won’t change anything😂
Exactly
So they should do nothing?
Hopefully those 100,000 are legit hackers and not some poor legit dude who got banned for absolutely no reason
Damn sounds like they finally started doing the bare minimum
If by bare minimum you mean they posted a vague article patting themselves on the back, then yep.
@@yahootube90 ☠️☠️☠️
What about strike packs?
Meh, smoke and mirrors.
Someone inside Respawn is clearly on the side of cheaters so them being like "we can't talk about a lot of this publicly" is just kinda funny. They really need to audit their team lol
Funny. I just got banned for 0 reason, asked support said it was perm ban and will not be reversed. Horrible game
just want them to add new servers especially this season is worst due to continuous issues
hmm I started to think this is not a black myth wukong channel xD
I wonder how many of those accounts are banned or suspended for something other than cheating
Bravo, Respawn! This is a very important step towards Making Apex Greater After All This Time. MAGAATT!!
When are they gonna put in a detection to removed 9 manners from ranked matchs and ban them
They just need to find a way to ban the cheaters by IP address
how am i supposed to blame cheaters for killing me if they gid rid of cheating
This probably will never happen but if they actually incentivised it more people would report them. Like reward it if it was an actual issue monetary wise would be too much for EA I'm pretty sure in a perfect world they'd implement it
11:10
they talked about it but nothing is going to be done like the last 5 years
Yes, this season has felt better
Maybe they should implement something similar to CS GO Overwatch.
How you report for WH ???? :)))))😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Let’s just be honest , they need to rebuild the game on a different engine or cheating and audio issues will be here forever
i just don't get it. why do people cheat? it makes no sense to me. how do they think they have achieved anything when playing with hax?
Not going to work ...they say in the first lines it will never end 😂
They should make you pay $20 for each account you have to stop smurfing as well.
its crazy to think their is that many pathetic people out there that cheat in VIDEO GAME on regular basis.
"reporting is usefull" yeah? maybe they should make it work for more than the 30 seconds between my death in the top 2 and the end of the game.
I hope they bann 6man and 9mans. Master lobbies are unplayable in console
