Your voice puts me to sleep. Not cause you're boring, but because it's relaxing and soothing. Who agrees?
ME!
I've fallen asleep many times because it really calms me down. Her voice is so nice!
You may experience what is called the 'ASMR response'. Many people who have trouble sleeping, myself included, watch ASMR videos to fall asleep.
+A.J. Ruckman ...um not necessarily, you can find someone's voice relaxing without it giving asmr...
Yassss ive been up all night on my day off since i work nights. Been trying to fall asleep for hours now. Her voice is so soothing.
I love how much respect you give to each country's/region's food.
Kali is an Estonian version of kvas actually. It's indeed quite popular.
Most people in Estonia eat sprats with bread, but without butter.
This type of black garlic bread is very authentic to the Baltic states.
Vana Tallinn is like an Estonian souvenir item. Estonians themselves often don't even drink it.
But it's good to see someone actually sending authentic stuff from Estonia.
That Kali/Kvass drink from what I learned seems to be similar to Finnish kotikalja, literally Home Beer, so I would imagine it's quite delicious :)
kas see pole mitte läti invention?
kali translates to kvass they are the same thing.
"Head isu" means "to have a good appetite" and is a perfectly appropriate phrase to use. This, however is interchangeable with another phrase called "jätku leiba" and means "to have more bread (to eat)".
Head isu means lots of things. I am estonian
I m from estonia
I love your comment section, so positive!! you have some pretty great fans
Emmy reminds me of Joy from Inside Out ❤️
Anna Mazzilli OMG. Yes
Ha. I think by now people send liquorice/anise flavored snacks intentionally. 😀
Same
+Tosh T But their teeth won't be as white as Emmys
Most definitely.
Why would they spend $ to send her something she does't like and probably won't eat? Perhaps they never heard her say she doesn't like anise flavor?
Very impressed with the skills on the description of products, Emmy. Are you a chef or something? You're really good in understanding what you eat.
You are just so lovely, every video you put a smile on my face because of how genuine and kind you are. So glad I found this channel.
Seabuckthorne (Sanddorn in German) is a super healthy and sour berry that grows best in sandy ground (thus the German name). It's often called "Zitrone des Nordens", which means "Lemon of the North" Seabuckthorne contains a lot of vitamins, essential oils and minerals. 100g (~3,5 oz) of fresh berries contain around 450 mg (7 grains) of pure vitamin c, which is around 450% of your daily needs. To get the same amount of vitamin c from lemons, you would have to eat around two pounds. To make them palatable you have to heavily sugar them though, which makes them not that as healthy a snack. In Germany you can find lots of products with seabuckthorne, reaching from infusion over mixed juices to bodylotion and make-up. :)
+SpiegelDasKaetzchen I'm used to only seeing seabuckthorne oil for the face. Cool to find out that people eat it too. =D
Vana Tallinn - that's the Estonian cough syrup. ;)
Hahahhaha
Felix Kütt k
XD true
Felix Kütt 😂😂
Emmy you fascinate me. You are well spoken calm insightful and delightful. I just subscribed to your channel and I'm watching you eat the world's foods. This is a great you tube channel.
RUclips recommended this video. I'm glad that they did. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Yes, I have subatomic toasticles rampant in my butter.
i would jus like you to know that when im having a bad/lonely day, i watch your fun nd actually pretty educational videos nd it helps me forget for a little while. so thank you for doing your videos that i enjoy on a daily basis! ♡
omg that crunch is killing me i wish I could eat it. I love crunchy food
Its Just Mars i have ate that too much lmao
The brown bread with butter and fish! Killing me! The Baltic! The Baltic!
Yeah, head isu is very well said! You can also say jätku leiba when you are coming in while the others are eating.
I wish taste-o-vision could be created so we could try what you were tasting, it all looks so good!
All I can say is: It is.
Your success is in the way you are able to describe the flavors and textures. It is very easy to imagine what some of these things actually taste like! Great job!
I wonder if she disliked anything whether she would say it. She just seems too nice of a person to do so.
She'll say if she doesn't favor something.. She has in her previous videos.
zcribe yes. If she doesn’t like it she’ll say so but in a respectful way
A couple of years ago I watched you eat Natto. Since then I'm really intrigued to try it, and I finally found some yesterday. Can't wait to try it today!
Estonia? Today?
This has to be a sign! GO JÜRI
#Eurovision 😂❤
xD
He has to qualify oh my god.....
I thought the same! I really hope that our cinnamon roll (Jüri) qualifies.
İrem Meri He really deserves it. I would vote for him but sadly I'm from Germany and we can't vote today 😧
ChiaraTargaryen i am from Turkey. Believe me, the pain is real...
how did I miss this video?
I look forward to your videos. they are the highlight of my day. I've been watching the old ones, too.
I am chronically ill and not a whole lot of money, so traveling and trying a lot of new things isn't an option for me. these make me smile.
:)
Sea buckhorns are soury fruit that would never remind you of liquorice if you'd get a chance to eat one. You can get them in Estonia only when there is a good summer otherwise it could be a bit too cold for the trees they grow on. They are usually sold as a juice (which is pretty expensive) and needs to be watered down (no sugar needed; ~1/4 juice, 3/4 water)
I'm from Estonia and I eat them all the time there soooooo nice
You eat what
+Caty O'Neill mida täpsemalt?
I love your eyebrows! :3
+Lee Mosose aitäh
mina olen kaa eestist
I'm never disappointed when you put up your videos ❤ thanks all the way from New Zealand
Girl, you are so cultured...I couldn't pronounce any of that and I wouldn't want to even think about trying that fish stuff. I'm going to work harder to be as brave as you are about trying new things! I swear, you could make an old leather shoe sound like it tastes amazing, this is definitely your forte! =}
And yet another great video. Thank you for making this for us.
your video is must watch before going to sleep! I love your voice so much! thank you for such amazing videos Emmy :)
the sea buckthorn and blackcurrant are both real candied berries inside.. kalev has many other berries/fruit in the same range as well. gooseberry is all time my favourite:)
Your voice is so soothing Emmy. I love watching your videos to de-stress after a long day at work! Love it!!
I think I'm a little late here, but I LOVE her! So many people would probably crunch their noses at these things, but she is so opened and optimistic! I'm Estonian and even I don't like all of these things, but I love her honest opinions.
love love loveee all of your videos!
These are just the most amazing videos to watch! I would never in my life know what these beautiful foods from around the world would taste like if it weren't for you and your channel so thank you SO much for these! I can't eat food anyway, but with your amazing descriptions, I can only imagine the incredible tastes 😍
olde hansa is a medieval restaurant in tallinn! they sell those almonds outside of the restaurant and they are damn good when they're fresh. sending love from minnesota! your videos make me so happy.
Sea buckthorn berryes are jused in Estonia for like jams! Filled with vitamins and good stuff.
You are my absolute favorite channel!! you are so genuine, so fun!!
Thank you for all your amazing videos!!!
Loved learning about Estonia! You are so lovely and intelligent. Your spirit shines through in your videos! Lots of love always ❤️
Just in case you get more Estonian treats, you could always try putting the Estonian text into Finnish audio on google translate to get a general pronunciation, as Finnish is similar to Estonian, it won't always be correct, but its better than guesswork :)
I like the guy who is representing Estonia in this years Eurovision.
Emmy your videos give me motivation to be more adventurous with the food I eat.
emmy your videos are sooo cool. I've made it a challenge to watch all your emmyeats videos and I'm loving it. :) eat on emmy you are awesome!
Hey Emmy, I've always wondered do you ever like some of the overseas snacks so much you get sad you can't buy them where you live? I think I probably would!
The drink you've had tastes like bread because it's what is used when making sourdough. It's the fermented part basically :)
That sounds so crazy, drinks from bread
***** Haha it does! But it does't taste like the bread itself. It's just the yeast extract
You really deserve more subscribers, you're like a second mother to me. :D
hi emmy im from England I have two massive black current bushes in my garden there great for jams etc and make good wine too also have sea buck thorn growing not too far from me
+james fry So cool!
I don't mean to be weird but... I find it oddly satisfying when you say "Itadakimasu"
*I know i'm not the only one*
you are so good at describing the flavors, HEAD ISU!
My best friend is from Estonia!!!!.She'll be very excited to see this.
I am from estonia and i think that is sooo cute that you tasted some estoni foods!!!! And the accent is soo cute
Hey Emmy! Just wanted to say that I'm always impressed with your palette and courage to try so many different types of food. I've always thought I was willing to try everything but you've definitely got me beat. You always see both the positives and negatives of all things. Still, I can't help but to think that you are awfully trusting about eating foods that are sent to you. Kind of like worrying about your kid's Halloween candy...you just never know with strangers. Love your videos and want you to keep it up, but be careful as well! ❤️
i LOVE ur estonia and ALL of ur tasting vids and all of ur vids !!💖 keep going!
I adore these almonds, so different to ours in Germany. Remember that magic smell all around old Tallinn. You can also get a hot fruit wine with a similar taste at Castrum Danorum. Some kind of sandalwood...but cant find it, have to go there again...and Vana Tallinn reminds me of a sweeter kind of Southern Comfort :)
I am from Estonia. I love all these things!!! Ma armastan neid!
Your voice is just so relaxing. It gives me ASMR
Greetings from a Canadian living in Estonia, Emmy!!! I love all your videos especially these ones from Estonia, because I had so many similar reactions to their foods :). Keep doing what you're doing!!!!
WOWW I LOVE UR VIDEOS EMMY!! BEST VIDEOS COME FROM YOU!!!!
Kali is estonian name for kvas >_> russian drink (fermented rye bred) but they add more sugar in it ( Emmy you nailed it )
those foods looked and sounded nice..I especially liked the look of the fish and dark bread..I wouldn't worry about crumbs in the butter..can't really be helped if you like toast. 😉 Nice video!
I love you Emmy! ^_^
Keep on making these wonderful videos~
Wow I'm so glad I found out that I actually can add subtitles to your videos here on RUclips! I'm kind of tired of translating them on the go haha :D My family and I are such big fans of yours!
I looooove sprotni... I eat it in itself as evening snack, so smoky, so great.
That moment when you're from Estonia 😍❤️
the bread snacks are my fav too
I really appreciate that you like my countrys food!
So glad to see you like Estonian foods :)
You telled everything about the products really well. I am Estonian i have tasted all this stuff and i would get it if i were american
I love your videos Emmy! Makes me want to visit all these countries :)
The Baltic! The Baltic!
lol
Good morning Emmy!
opened my phone this morning and the second notification that I got was from your channel! it is great to see you tasting Estonian foods because that is where I am from, but living in Iceland atm.
Cheers - Terviseks
Bon Appetit - Head isu
also one thing more. when I was a kid, my dad and I used to eat sprats with white bread and butter. my mom always asked me how I could do it, because she never found them so good. hehe 😃
oh wow :D the german baltic sea coast is also known for its seabuckthorn products. You can buy tea blends, juice, candies and jam everywhere. As a kid we went to the baltic sea every summer and my parents made me drink seabuckthorn juice because they said it is sooo healthy (it has a lot vitamine C) but I hated the taste and still dont like it very much today XD
If you are interested I could send you a little package with some more seabuckthorn treats :)
Big fan Emmy, been a fan for a while. I love your videos, some of the things you eat. Girl you're so brave! Keep up the amazing videos
Most of Estonian packaging also has english labels on the back, so you can easily see what it's all about:)
Love all the tastings! Hi emmy
Funny thing. I started following you about week ago and now tasting Estonia AND I'm from Estonia. How cool is that :D you are very adorable! Kali should have bubbles tho.
kvass and kali are the same thing
HI Emmy! Glad you like our food. You are right about Kali tasting similar to Kvas. Because it is the same thing:) In Russian it's called Kvas, Estonian is Kali.
I am going to America, Michigan next week maybe you can give me some tips on what to try;)
I saw the black candies and I was " that looks suspiciously like licorice...." then Emmy was " wow, what these are great" and then " ta ta ta DA" they were with licorice xD, great video emmy!
Emmy is the sweetest!
Welcome to Estonia!
Everything was right!
Terviseks!, Head Isu!'
I love sea buckthorn, At my parents home, we have a tree of that and I like making juice from fresh berries. DELICIOUS!
Greetings From Estonia!
Hi! Was the drink Emmy had in the beginning of the video supposed to be fizzy or no? Just curious. Thank you!
+Cass C. Not fizzy like lemonade or so. Kali contains yeast and it''s fermented. I don''t know how to explain in english. Google Kvass, it's the same.
finally ! thank you💖 im from Estonia 💖💖
love you
Really polite funny people from Estonia as far as the people ive met in my travels
Best way to drink Vana Tallinn is to mix it with cream (or 'double cream' ) - it tastes better than Baileys. You can also add a little bit into coffee ;)
Kvass is Slavic word for Kali, and you were pretty much bang on! I think it does contain rye or something so bread is good description. Also, usually it does have "fizz" to it.
Also, it's not candy inside, they are chocolate covered dried berries, it's actual blackcurrant and the other berry.
Those Seabuck thorn and Black Current things are like the Brookstone chocolates! So delicious. They have pomegranate flavor, blueberry. ugh
I am from Estonia, I am happy that you liked the foods :)
The Baltic! The Baltic!
We love you Emmy!!
I do have breadcrumbs in my butter 😜
love your videos. more tasting adventures! itadakimasu!
Now you made me hungry. Can't wait to get home and stop by the grocery store to pick up some of this fish.
We grow blackcurrant in NZ too and a drink cordial or concentrate called Ribena is very popular
Emmy! if you haven't already I think you should make a sticky dough called mochi. I think it would be a great video
+Charles Shockley oh
All of this looks so good!!
juustu-sibula leib is my favourite snak in Estonia in my onpinion, its delicous it has cheese exetra and its so good!!!!
absolutely love youre video's, I'm watching them for the longest time! greetings from the netherlands! 💗
I would pay someone to send me some of these breads/crisps from other countries! Sounds so delicious!
Omg Emmy, I miss my Estonian sweets. So yummy 😋 Great channel
ITs so awesome that your making video with Estonian food. i subbed
"Nubely on the outside" I've never heard that word before....You're the best Emmy!
It would be part 3! You have already done two Estonia tastings before! :)
