So helpful video! I couldn’t decide whether i should take bus or train to Montreal.. thank you always! Ever since I came to Canada, your channel helped me a lot!! ❤❤
I’m planning my first trip to Canada, Toronto-Montreal-Ottawa. And I’m trying to learn as much as possible about moving around the cities and make this trip smoother. Thank you for your tips. I wish I’d seen this video before booking the trip from Toronto to Montreal in this bus 😅😅
I wanted to take the megabus yesterday night from Toronto to Montreal ... It was fully packed and just seeing the seats and the space; I could not see myself there for 6h... So I left ... Buses I took in Mexico and even the Philippines were more comfortable. So; whatever the price; it is not worth it for me (especially that driving is about the same price for 1 person!). I was not impressed; and kinda sad, I wanted to relax and be driven for once... But it is Canada, everything is made for cars here ...
I can understand that, I wasn't impressed at all either. I guess it only works for people who need a particular connection/schedule and don't have a car. Even the GO buses are still better, I just wished they had a larger network!
Hi, I just got back from Montreal to Toronto and to Niagra falls using Megabus. I found the seats on the double deck bus way too uncomfortable and I had to keep shifting sitting positions as I felt that the chairs did not properly support the spine and the only way to stop the pain is by putting a travel pillow behind my back. I think the seats are okay for a couple hours but beyond that it becomes uncomfortable. I agree that the first four seats on the top are the best seats and wish I saw this video before booking. Also the seats behind the stairs does give a bit more leg room so if I ever use Megabus it will be one of those seats. As for the Toronto- Niagra leg I found that a lot better because instead of the double deck bus it was a coach bus which had better seats. Also we thought we were going to just the Niagra falls terminal but when the driver announced that there is another stop at the falls, he let us stay on.
Hi, thank you for the video! 🙂It really helps a lot, especially for first time travellers to Canada. Just wondering, are there any other bus operators other than Megabus to get from Toronto to Montreal or Montreal to Quebec or Toronto to Quebec?
You're welcome! Not that I'm aware of. As mode of transportation there is ViaRail and airplane though. I took the ViaRail to Montreal once, you can find a video about this on my channel.
Wondering how they check the ticket since there is just a reservation number on my ticket to authentificate it. For example flixbus uses a qr code to authentificate... Did they take a serious look on the ticket or just a quick check?
During my specific trip they took a quick look at it. I forgot if they scanned it. I guess with those thousands trip they do they got the method of fast-checking down! In any case, there are only so many seats on the bus so it would be hard for someone to fake their way into a seat lol.
The confirmation number is huge, I wonder how they can quickly check all passengers tickets by reading all those sequences and counterverify them with their register.
Oh crap, I just booked the table seats.. didn't realize that we are going to have to sit face to face with strangers at the opposite side of the table for 6 hours! On the diagram it looked like all the seats are facing forward.
The temperature was just right at that time, but it was in May, and not really cold/hot outside either. Not sure how it would be in the Winter, but I guess like most buses they would have the heater on!
@@LivinginCanada I'd agree with that I'm thinking of using megabus for my Ottawa to Toronto trip I've used via before and I find it's always too expensive for me when I go to Toronto

Have you taken the MEGABUS, how did you like it? In case you haven't, are you planning to book a trip with Megabus?

Thanks for sharing! I've never taken the Megabus to Niagara, but it's good to know that it has better seats, I might try it!

Hi there and welcome!!
I am planning to take a mega bus from Toronto to Kingston. Is it possible to carry more than 20kg of baggage, if I pay extra money?
You can find more information here: ca.megabus.com/luggage-policy Cheers!
Thanks for the reply, it seems, I need to buy an extra ticket to carry extra luggage

Haven't thought of that, good point!
is it canadian dollars or american dollars, the prices on the website ?
Do I get the option to choose from other seats apart from table seat or panoramic view seat ?
Cause I can't choose the other seats when I book
Not that I remember. That's perhaps because all other seats cost the same.
How warm/cold are the buses?

Thank you! This is very helpful :)
Thanks!
did they ask for id when boarding or just scan your tickets?
During my trip they just asked for the tickets.
How do you save the ticket to your mobile wallet?
Sorry, I don't know.
@@LivinginCanada 2:09 you said you can add it to your apple wallet. How do you do that?
I read that you can do it, but I haven't done it myself.
Hahahaha! I wish Mega Buses were a "luxury" here in America. Rather, its the same exact MegaBus you guys have in Canada.
That's good to know! I'm not missing out on anything then :P
i live in niagara falls 🎉
Good for you, it's beautiful!
I've never used megabus but I find they are cheaper than via rail I like via but man they are expensive
Yes it’s a cheaper alternative, but I find viarail to be more comfortable (although tardy!)

No wifi on the bus…?
I don't remember there being any wifi! Please correct me anyone if I'm wrong.

@@LivinginCanada May be 4, 5 yrs ago , you could get one way ticket Montréal-Toronto at $ 10 !
That's unbelievable! Now we're so far away from that!
Yes they used to advertise as 10$ to travel from Montreal to Toronto.
