I've never thought of leaving Steam in offline mode so it can't disable demos! Great idea, thanks Splat
Part of the issue with DRM.
A solution to a problem that never had to exist.
DRM was always going to eventually exist in a world with copyright and greedy corporations

Just FYI to anyone wanting to try this game out - the devs have stated on their official Discord that the demo is actually their open beta, and the demo will keep being available until they fully launch into early access, receiving any new patches they develop in the meantime. They're very responsive on their server, and push out frequent patches in response to player feedback
I hope so! I'm downloading it right now!!
@@thorfinn2015 Yep me too =)
One of the best things about these indie studios is how involved they allow their community to be during development. Imagine if we could provide AAA devs feedback during development.
"Maybe ... put something to do on this big planet, Bethesda?"
"How about, since it's Halo ... you make it good?"
"As it happens, I don't want to play the re-re-re-re-remastered The Last of Us 1. Make something new."
Pirate Software mentioned it in one of his shorts recently, that most players would just really like more communication with devs, which I tend to agree with
The devs of this game truly want the feedback and are open to suggestions for features / changes, which is wonderful
I personally can't wait for them to add those NPCs they intend to add, you're supposed to eventually be able to build a squad, and a village, not unlike Necesse, but not quite Medieval Dynasty
Green flag!
Lets be honest, splat with the cauldron head, the cleaver, fighting rats, collecting pelts, talking to himself. Yeah, thats a show
i thought that was a normal day for him.
...oh, you're talking about the game.
nvm.
🤣🤣@@vforwombat9915
I didnt expect a Buckethead reference in my Splat video. Nice
Of course its dark, you have a bucket on your head!
Thank you, Thank you! I'll be here all week, try the veal.
😆🤣
...and don't forget to tip your waitress!
> "I can't see a damn thing right now."
You got a bucket on your head my dude.
Its very clear that the people that made this game are fans of survival games and just crammed all the QoL that everyone loves in it.
Honestly, this looks really good... a bit more work into it and you got a really solid game. Ill be keeping an eye on it.
I like how the rats, even though dead, still escape by rolling away.
its a novell way to despawn corpses - they roll away into the sunset :D
Thanks for keeping covering new games!
he wants to build a tent. just a place to sleep. he has to get cotton for that. but oh, he needs a better tool to harvest all that cotton. so he needs iron. so he needs a furnace and a smithing table. but for that he needs peat, and to process his lumber so he needs those stations. what a glorious rabbit hole. reminds me of modded minecraft.
Puts a bucket on his head: _"I can't see a damn thing.."_
Thanks for everything you do!
Thx Splat for featuring another game on my wishlist.
'Don't look at test Fart' lol, you crack me up Splattercat
With the cauldron on the head, a meat cleaver in hand and that running animation, you could be the bad guy of a horror movie. 7:04.
or at least a Pixies song.
...with your feet in the air and your head on the ground.....
10:14 I dunno why exactly, but I died laughing watching the animation of the rat rolling down the hill
I've always wanted a classic mmorpg survival style with building and crafting. This one looks promising. I hope there are more enemy types, dungeons, and etc.
Words to live by:
"That's an axe. You should move when you see that coming toward you."
This game got me the moment i saw you equiping the cauldron
Very impressive systems implemented into this game. The combat and leveling, the crafting and building, very solid all round.
"Why's it always so dark?" ~ Splat with pot on head. :P
You know he’s a good dude when he mentions Buckethead
5:20 - You don't want to wear a bucket on your head in this day and age. Some horse might mistake you for a set of drums.
Puts cauldron on head so he looks like a chess pawn, "I think this better represents who I am as a human being."
...
😂
Test farts can be quite risky. As demonstrated, they sometimes are followed by a splat.
What happened in the mill stayed in the mill. We aren't milling around here.
LOL the bucket got me off guard... and the cauldron, wtf XD
This actually looks very promising. It's kind of low poly but love that it's going for realistic colors and not that minimalist hyper stylized crap. Hopefully it'll have controller support and run well on the Steam Deck.
Cant say how much of a joy it is to have resources SEPERATE from loot and gear and misc.
This looks pretty fun. I actually like the darker colours. One thing I do hope they introduce is some terraforming so that things can sit level, my OCD can't handle a smelter sitting cockeyed
So glad tou play all these games as you find ones i can't 😅
I love that you can put the pot on your head
Oh man! It's out finally! Been waiting for this!
I think this might be the 5th time I’ve heard Splat go off about boars lol
Thanks for showcasing. ^^
_"My general experience with goats is that you can walk up and milk them, but they may take offense to that."_
Yeah, the male goats in particular, huh?
Buckethead! So funky
Man, this looks right up my alley.
Great viddy as always.
Looks pretty good, thank you for the video.
Splat. You missed the whole combo system on the right side of the skills tree tab. You can set up your weapon combos after buying your weapon skills.
Arse Notorious
Had me at "test fart', how can you come back from that.
splatt never comes back, he only goes forward.
Demo is still available the morning of the 13th. Grabbing it now
brb, splat just reminded me to listen to some buckethead (nice reference splat)
Thanks splat for the video!
That cauldron :D
Love your commentary man. You remind me of Chris from Family Guy, just funnier and better.
Keep on
Thanks for the video.
Ah, good old fashioned Hawaiian boars. Legendary and infamous creatures.
well, now you have to worry about radioactive teleporting boars in the US.
Buckethead reference sheeesh
n1 "LetmeSoloHer" skin. The new cool
ThankYou SirSpla77
Any game asking me to hit a tree that many times before getting the wood should actually pay me to "play" it. :P
you don't like beating wood?
LMAO I hit the Like button within the first 90 seconds. F's in chat for "Sir Test Fart".
Oh, this one could be real good. Could. Will have to wait and see I guess.
We have 'LetMeSoloHer' at home...
Pretty bold move by calling the game Arse
The early access adventures of "Let me solo her" jr.
That it lets you wear buckets and cauldrons improved my ranking by like 2 stars!, gotta luv that. It speaks of a possible whimsy that appeals. Luv that the skill tree has the animations that show you the abilities, that struck as a nice feature I wasn't expecting. I agree with Splat, radial menu's, not a fan. Gives me console-centric vibes which I don't like, Outward, ok, yes that's ok! (gotta say as much as I LOATHE youtubes spamming with adverts the "true classic" one set in the office they keep pushing on me was funny)
A "test fart" sounds dangerous. XD
Demo is still up. I think demos should always be available now since most early access games are $30-40 now days.
I still have the manor lords demo from so long ago. You can just run the exe from the windows file system directly and itll work, no need to stay in offline mode
I’ve been playing for quite some
time and it’s promising. The demo won’t get pulled from Steam until EA.
This reminds me of valhiem so much
"The game is dark" Splat, would taking the pot off of your head help? I'm almost sure there is a joke stashed away in there. ;) Promising game though, thanks!
I am just curious, I have been watching your videos for some time now and I was wondering if you have ever encountered a game that is so terrible that you couldn't play it, cause I've seen minor complaints but nothing earthshaking. For the most part, I can't stand the graphics on some of these games. I wouldnt mind it so much but there are only so many open world games you can watch and not see any major innovations to them. Your doing a great job by the way. Keep it up you have saved me a lot of money and also opened my eyes to some hidden gems.
Dam that looked like Hodd Toward
11/10 - Would cauldron head again!
And punching trees down... when did that ever become a thing lol
The game does make some interesting and nice quality of life choices, like your resources just being "in storage" and the harvesting devices that just keep inputting resources. I'm not sure if it's interesting enough otherwise though.
Like, there are so many games like this, I'm not sure if the QOL is enough to make it worth it.
I hope your "Test Fart" worked out better than mine did.
If the magic system is good might give it a go. Giving me some Valheim vibes
Six minutes into the game and Splat's already playing a pothead.
AHHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Did something happen to the open beta? I cant get to the Dark Forest or the Swamp? Need clay and salt. lol
I could tell this is a medieval game because the guy didn't put a plastic bag on his head.
16:35 I don't think I like this game...
late to the party but i love the channel and alot of the games you tend to enjoy ... that said can we talk about min requirements .. 8 gigs memory ??????????
Lol Buckethead. KFC never had better advertising
Dealbreaker for me in these games is if there is any degree of automation available (like having the output from a smelter delivered automatically to a forge and turned into X. Either through NPC characters, or literal automation aka satisfactory). I'm done with survival crafters where you have to do every step manually.
4:24 boar meat is good
🖤
Sucks when your soft wood storage is full when you need your hard wood storage to be full.
Hahaha nice game introduction; i dont hate it
I am 3min in and graphics seems at first very... bare bones, but the moment I saw animations... they got some real talent there. It is not the best thing in the world, game is obviously on a budget. That said that subtle turn of the torse before direction change. Characters do not feel like the are floating a bit with every step (I am looking at you bethesda) and horse was moving all limbs independently when trotting. It is subtle, but it is there.
thanks
This looks interesting. I like that you don't have to go collect shite.
Sometimes you fart, sometimes you splat X)
Opening story scene music, and the brutality achieves a portion of choice for me.
The overall experience of these survival games for me, has every time been without context to civilization, which continues to ruin it for me. I really just wish more medieval fantasy games could just be according to adventurous occupation, perhaps with some extra involvements in farming, mining, logging, etc., but only occasionally and ultimately bound to support of an adventure's plot.
Mercenary, fighters, or adventurers guilds are my ideal.
Calls bell pepper a vegetable lol... they are fruits. A tomato is also a fruit
Arse Notoria?!? Oh... Ars Notoria, different kind of book.
ah the old punch tree's. I'm a bit sick of this in survival games now, not just punching trees (which is stupid) they all just start blending together and it just feels like the same old survival game as the last one. The dev's might work hard on their games but it's all starting to feel the same and a bit lazy tbh. Stand out with your games do something innovative
There's always one.
I bet this is going to be like one of those games like Mount and blade 1 or king of retail, complete bangers that look like absolute ass. Actually has some solid UI design, always a good sign you're dealing with devs that are decent at their job
A test fart to make sure it wasnt shit.
Yay, another survival game...
this demo seems more like an alpha test?
I wonder if it is a 50/50 chance of the goats taking offense to you milking them.. ?
15:16 exact second. There's something fundamentally wrong and disturbing with this... i just can't point out exactly what.
1:39, the village taking an axe to the chest. IDK man, idk. Color me crazy, but taking an axe to my chest sounds a lot more appealing than taking an axe to my crotch and Then to whatever else body part. Maybe that's just me though
Any magic in this game or is it low fantasy?
Not at the current demo stage but from the dev journal and comments from the developer it looks like magic will be a significant part of the game.
At 5:39 you can see a greyed out "Magic Arts" in the menu.
@@Tam_Hawkins Ahh nice catch! Thanks!
@@mackeyiv6679 Thanks!
Please - not another game about beating trees with bare hands.
You can make an axe if you don't like using your hands!
I was there 14 years ago, in infdev, where open world survival multiplayer was forged. I believe we have punched enough trees for many lifetimes
