I just purchased a Tiger 2005 - The boat was sailed on Fresh Water Only - for 2 months then it was placed in INSIDE STORAGE until I found it and purchased it EVERY THING is LIKE BRAND NEW - not even any scratches. Only one item is there is one place where a none hobie screw on the hull - just sitting on the hull - and it caused a little rust stain. Rigging - Sails - Hull - etc . JUST PERFECT - can't wait to take her out in 2023 !!! YEA
I totally agree with this comment. Exactly what I was looking for since a long time. No better source of information around if it comes to this boats. Joe, thanks for putting in so much effort and insight into all of this content.
Thank you for the insights, i have a hobie tiger from 2nd edition and my sail is in very bad shape. I'm thinking in make the upgrade to a 3rd edition main sail, but the sail is larger, do you think that is a good ideia and it is possible? I don't find any used main sail for the 2nd edition tiger. Thank you!!
There are flaws that are uncritical, as they can be repaired 100% (say a traveller car fallen apart), and others are more optical. A decently repaired hole in the hull is way less nasty than a deck that looks still good, but is soft over a large area. When it becomes unavoidable to repair that, then it gets really ugly.
Yes, that's what i was trying to explain, that some things like are soft hull are serious whereas needing to replace the tiller extension isn't quite as problematic. Thanks
Top class info here - watch until the end for what I think your should be paying or selling for
I think there was zero warning sign beforehand when you went out and all 4 rudder gudgeons broke off... ;-))
I dare say if i'd inspected before going out that time there may have been a crack visible - possibly.

@@JoyriderTV I think it's mainly because it's winter in Germany and I cant wait to get back onto my Hobie Tiger.
what about hc 16 prices and editions?
Yes, that would be a big research project.
Maybe one for the future.
The other issue with that is that the boats were different in different regions.
