Ninja, the master of assassination, espionage and the silent shadow arts, *love* to use eardrum-shattering machine guns and other loud weapons! >.< Other than that this is awesome tho! Besides, Yoshida Kyoudai are exempt from the judgment of such fallacies. =D

Actually, ninja did utilize firearms, far before the invention of suppressors. In fact, Oda Nobunaga, legendary Japanese warlord and one of the 3 great unifiers of Japan, was shot twice by a shinobi wielding an arquebus, a kind of primitive firearm.
As romanticized as our present day image of ninja is, we have to remember that these guys were, above all else, mercenaries. You don't stay in business for long if you don't adapt with the times, and the firearm is a particularly useful tool to a ninja, as it provides them with a reasonable method of engaging an armored target in the field, like a samurai, without having to get too close. Yeah, it's loud and flashy, but, like any modern-day assassin, any good ninja would have two or three escape routes planned, with contingencies as well.
I think that is because this is Snake Eyes vs. Storm Shadow.
