    great videos! What's the reason for the convex edge over a straight one in normal house or workshop scissors?

    Been watching you for a few years great info really appreciate watching so I can learn new techniques. I really should go to some events at some point. I would like to se you work over some curved shears in the rideline and see how you work a good shear vs fixing a over worked rideline how you would straighten it out.

    Thanks for your videos. These are very informative, if I would like to start doing scissor sharpening in a "semi pro" way, what would be the bare minimum to start with?

    Thanks so much Jim always something to pick up in your videos? So much to learn. What diamond paste did you put on the polishing pad?

    • @JimSharpBlog
      @JimSharpBlog  2 года назад

      It’s a 3 micron diamond paste. Works great.

    I’m a newish shear sharpener. I just came across a pair of salon shears that have a nylon insert by the pivot. How should I go about messing with the ride line with that?

    • @JimSharpBlog
      @JimSharpBlog  Год назад

      Just treat it like any other hollow ground shear.

    its funny you can see the years of experience when you were taking the tips down how gentle you were while grinding
