For everyone saying this should be weekly, it’s quality over quantity. Having it for international breaks give more context between shows plus it fills that void when the games aren’t on. Brilliant show
Why is everyone so obsessed with it ? Ffs, let him say it. Everyone has a phrase or word he or she uses very often. Gary "In any shape or form", "If you told me [number] months ago..." Keane "That's his job" "Nonsense" "you are living in cuckoo land"
Liverpool fan, but credit to him for keeping his humour about a dire situation; he seems very decent- that club is run like an absolute circus. Even if they don’t drop, they’ll still be in huge trouble long term under any manager (though it doesn’t help they’re managed by Lampard😂🤷🏼♀️)
Agreed as a Liverpool supporter of 30+ years i do not want Everton to go down. I think most Liverpool supporters would agree. Sure want them to do shite lol but not get relegated. Actually have to admit i kind of want them to do slightly better than shite lol. I want them to be decent. Got respect for Everton. Solid fanbase apart from the actual bitters that are... bitter lol, great ground and atmosphere, historic club, in a brilliant city. they deserve better than relegation places. Should be top half every season.
Roy Keane is so humble. Always talks up the players and leaders around him at the time, and says he was never the best player. He in fact was often the best player on the pitch for Man Utd, and was one of the best all round players in Europe in a phenomenal era for football.
Roy Keane the best player on the pitch lol don't think he was ever the best player on a pitch unreal captain and leader but average footballer when your the captain of a team constantly winning ya look better than you are
Gary does make me laugh... He's 50% spot on and 50% completely delusional. I can't work out if he's on the wind up half the time or just so wrapped up in what he thinks man utd are versus other clubs stature.
Getting top 4 to compete for titles is a massive step. Arteta can get us top 4 but I dont think arteta has the ability to take us to the next level (winning titles and CL). Gary is spot on. It reminds me a lot of Man Utd more than liverpool. United dropped their standards and the fans was getting behind the team. With Liverpool, not only did they have a world class manager, but also made the best recruitment. Yes top 4 is as step the right direction but lets not forget we were consistently in the top 4 when Wenger was in charge but could not get past the round of 16 in the champions league.
@@harveyspinks615 Go back and rewatch, that isn't what he said. He said that Arsenal's ambition and squad isn't good enough for Arteta, thus he should leave for a bigger club. He almost implied he should go to Utd.

I mean he sees his club is struggling and needs all help it can get, Ole needed help, Ralf needs help, but the man is always on tv and podcasts telling us the fans what's what instead being there at the club helping the people that needs his help and advise and opinions and football experience that he got from playing in the greatest team of all time.
@@rev4615 Arteta simply is not a big club manager especially united who is run by the media and pundits and fans, he will not survive over there. He wouldn't also have survived managing Wenger's era of Arsenal either, he is better off managing this version of Arsenal because it's suits him, fans like him, media likes him, club has no ambition to really win anything, it's not a big deal if they lose games or not make top 4, they are just okay with whatever.
Harry Maguire needs to take a leaf out of Jordan Henderson’s book. Constantly having step up a level, reinvent his game to keep his spot, playing under one of the most demanding managers, and having to take the armband off Stevie
Agree but Henderson has klopp whose built a fantastic Liverpool side to compete on all fronts. Maguire I feel it’s a lot harder as united haven’t really got going since fergie left. I believe he can play a big part in that united backline under the right management

Not a single one of our top 5 players are in their prime yet bar Partey yet Neville says fourth place is the ceiling with this team ?
I thought the same thing. To be honest, if we finish 6th I'm not that disappointed since it's better than eighth and our players have a LONG way to go before reaching anywhere near their potential. Plus, they talk about bringing in superstars as important for Arsenal... whilst that would be helpful, I think they're missing the point that we're BUILDING superstars.
As a United fan I've been impressed with what Arteta has done, no matter where they end up this season. I'm sure he learned a few things from Wenger and Pep. He works well with young players but you still need at least one or two really top calibre players to get past that ceiling.
Carragher is spot on with Arsenal. Might not be winning anything but there's something good going on there. I know it's not on the same level but very similar with my local side Plymouth- we're not top of the league but we're in the playoffs, the football is good and the fans love the manager
The building blocks of something that fans can be happy about, and hopefully something special but that's to be seen later, for now the club is together which is huge. Just have to ignore the Arteta out idiots who still want him gone.

Feedback: - Great show for the most part. But would it be possible to do a part 2 to talk about the other clubs in the league? I'm an Everton fan and delighted to hear about my team, even though we're terrible at the moment. But it would have been nice to hear from a Burnley, Watford or Norwich fan when it comes to relegation. Or even a Brentford fan since they aren't safe yet. I don't think Southampton, Brighton, and some others even got mentioned during the entire hour and a half. Wolves got a passing mention and they've been one of the talking points of the season. Also what about West Ham and the job Moyes has done? Again, it's been 27 minutes on Man Utd (which is an interesting topic, don't get me wrong) and then nothing on other clubs. There are 20 teams in this league. Try to talk about all of them, even if it is only a few minutes. Also lastly, a longer Q&A, please. Overall I actually think you need two 1.5 hour videos of content to cover the whole league. Spread out the big clubs across both videos to guarantee views. Though football fans are football fans. We eat this up regardless. Either way, love the videos, please keep them coming. And the trio of Nev, Keane, Carra is the best so far. But if you know someone else to throw a spanner in the works and add a bit of extra banter would be good. Also preferably not Utd or Liverpool influence. Anyway cheers, take it easy.
The thing is who would actually care about some of them teams. How much is there to say about Norwich?? They aren’t good enough for the premier league but are too good for the championship. Burnley and Watford a championship level teams. And what can you say about Southhampton and Brighton. They’re both clear of any sign of relegation but they aren’t having a major successful season (fighting for a trophy)
I'm a united fan and even I thought why we talking about us for so long and some of the people that were sat there that obviously never got a word in edgeways I agree either just make it 2 hours or into two parts we as football fans in general want to hear from all the clubs and whats happened from the start to the end of the season!
Probably the best club spokesman on this show, great humor & balanced views, always like listening to you on these shows, as good as the presenters m8 👏
Probably the best football content out there these shows, they're absolutely brilliant! Would love for them to be a monthly thing and each episode to be abit longer and talk more about the other clubs in the PL. Every single Overlap episode are unbelievably good. I enjoy this waaaay more and I think its because of Gary, Jamie and Roy being more as themselves, honest, relaxed and no pressure. The banter are all amazing too. Thank you Sky.

The best point made was by Keane when talking about styles of football. @@Nobsy98 Yeah just won a European title with Aberdeen and toppled the old firm, still being the last man outside the old firm to do that. And that's without mentioning his united career.
This is exactly why United are in the mud, and out of all the legendary players for United who went into coaching, apart from Rooney, they’re all crap. You can’t just buy the best players in the league and hope they’ll outplay the opposition anymore.
It's gonna be problematic when the Glazers are absolutely satisfied with a fourth place finish & after all these years that attitude has filtered down through the club to the player's. As long as they make the Champions League that's job done but the problem with that is finishing fifth or sixth is always a danger. Watching Utd against Leicester, Jesus looks like the white flag has already gone up & they're already settling for the Europa League/Conference.

Great stuff. I always wonder Neville and Keane have said before that they respect Arsenal as a massive team, but on the other hand they think Arsenal have no money like Arsenal are some broke club. Arsenal are in London, one of the biggest stadium in Europe, massive brand, just look at how they could almost make a new collaboration for shirts and trainers every week. Arsenal do have money, they spent the most in the PL last season, even after 5-6 years without UCL, Arsenal are still top 11-12 in the world in terms of revenue. And also thinking 4th is the best Arteta can do is ridiculous, Pep and Klopp won't be there forever, Arteta is still so young, the team is the youngest, if they are not sure about competing why bother spending 150M on young players, they are looking for a window to break in, with these crop of players, Saka, Martinelli, ESR, Odegaard, all u23, they are not at their peak yet, and by playing together they will have more chemistry, and Arteta has said that they won't stop, they want to be the best, they want to score 100 goals to compete, if there is no chance why bother invest in players heavily.
Gary is a fool. Just because his Manutd team couldn’t compete with City / Liverpool, he thinks arsenal will go through the same. We just need to achieve top 4 and trust Arteta’s recruitment in the summer to take us to the next level.
@@markm1419 absolutely. It's about the next step. I think Carra is spot on, the transfer window is key for us to complete the team and take us to the next level. On the other hand tho, its good that Gary was trying to playdown Arsenal's trajectory, it means we are going in the right direction.
As a liverpool fan I've been impressed with arsenal's form, odegaard looks like he can become sonething special and martinelli, but you definitely need to sign a top tier striker and couple other top tier players to get to the next level. I admire arteta especially for the auba decision. He looks as though he could become a top coach, I think gary was definitely wrong about no been able to push further on but you guys have to get champions league to attract better calibre players.
I genuinely hope you get the top 4, but I just wish some of your fanbase wouldn't get so delusional at times. If you guys can get champions league for the next couple seasons, then build a bigger squad, i think you can start pushing for the top spots. I genuinely believe this top 4 spot is going to be one of the defining moments in your modern history.
Also this probably is going to be a unpopular opinion but i think you need top class winger to plag ahead of saka, i just don't see him being able to take you to the next level down that side.
Before he signed for Barca, I thought Kessie could've been an awesome Arsenal signing. Him and Partey would be reminiscent of Vieira and Partey. I think a front 3 of Martinelli, Smith-Rowe and Saka would give most defences trouble.
Regardless of who you support, and if you agree or disagree with what people are saying, I think we can all agree that this show is great. Having a few representatives of each club be able to ask questions and share opinions with some of the great players of the past and having real discussion is something I think we never really had, and desperately need in a football sphere where clubs and fans are getting further from each other. So props to the ones with the idea and the ones making it happen.
The problem United have isn't that the new manager won't be Klopp or Guardiola, it's that their organization and football operators aren't those of Man City and Liverpool. The quality of the manager is not the most important thing and thinking a flashy name will magically cure United and change everything is a complete delusion.
Hearing these 3 speak without David Jones interrupting and butting in is honestly a whole different experience. Way way better hearing these guys discuss football without that guy. Best show on SkySports and quite comfortably too.
Couldn’t agree more. He always wants to be the centre of attention and stops the conversation from flowing naturally (which is the main job of a presenter). Josh is new media so Sky probably wouldn’t take him on, but he’s so much better than David Jones. Kelly is much better as well on Sky and Laura Woods is in a different stratosphere.
Love this show/debate need to somehow get it to be more regular Also love it to be a more inclusive argument like have all 20 teams equally debated and even championship. I’m a Liverpool fan love that we have carragher representing us but be awesome if it was football wide debate rather than a top clubs debate

Would as many people tune into that though? Think the return on investment there might not justify a part 2

I cannot see the Glazers spending a dime on upgrading OT and training ground.. It's not in their ownership DNA.
1:01:20 love watching McKola literally dying inside at very probable prospect of city winning a treble or Liverpool winning the quadruple.
He's a bellend isn't he
Hahaha i was thinking that, brilliant.
It's a deep burn 🤧
@@michaelunderhill8847 Ferguson didn't win Ucl with Aberdeen😂It was a cup winners game . Its like a super cup .Ferguson without Manchester United is nothing. Nobody cares about that winners cup apart from fergie fambase who thinks he is the Goat with just 2 Ucl
@@Username-mn7pc your actings like winning the champions League is all it takes to be a great manager Lmao
Captains are often not the most gifted, Keane, Neville, Henderson and one of my Chelsea faves Dennis Wise, a captains job is to do the basics well and keep the team concentrating season after season.
Anyone fancy chipping in with me on that Uber to Wembley? 😂
Sorry lad I'm skint you're on your own.

Great question from McKola about the captaincy affecting performances of players.

Love every episode of the Overlap panel and the fans discussing the performance of their clubs. Great debates
Ralf is a smart operator. Any manager that walks in will only benefit with him around. Hope Ralf is given more power in the hierarchy.
Gary - “the ageing squad surprised me in the last couple of weeks”
Most competent football fans have seen that for multiple months.
😂😂
***years. Its been happening for years. Will be 9 yrs in May since Fergie retired. Still a few token players from his reign in the squad now. Was even a few regular starters of Fergies in the squad 2 seasons ago. At least some have been shipped on. But whenever they keep offering new contracts to players that should have been gone a few seasons ago, then time flys so quick you then realise that that 20something player that fergie signed, is now 30something, and near retirement.
@@E9JMX spot on. Mata, martial, pogba, Matic, Bailly, Phil Jones … all useless. On top of that, Ronaldo & cavani are past it and not focussed on the future of the team. United are getting absolutely no where near the top in the next 4 years. That squad needs major surgery
@@E9JMX on top of that, shaw, AWB, rashford, Fred, maguire, Lindelof, dalot all not good enough. Greenwood in jail. It’s a total mess.
@@samuelhanson8693 correct mate. Prime Fergie would have rebuilt the squad twice by now, on a fraction of the budget and still possibly would have won quite a lot. He also would have got Greenwood's contract terminated, purely for bringing the clubs image into disrepute. The current board structure, management and player structure is an absolute shambles, and if they hadnt of won big sponsorship, off the back of past history, the Glazers would have sold up long ago and Utd would either be liquidated or doing superb by now.
Only way things will change, is if fans literally stop putting money across the shops or the gates. Hit the Glazers financially and reset the club.
An engaging discussion. Always a treat to hear Gary, Roy, Jamie, and Josh talk shop. The more intimate Sky Bet studio is a far better conversational platform for insightful football analysis, in my view, than the recent Manchester Apollo Overlap with 2,700 fans in attendance. I wish more time had been devoted to non-top-six clubs, however. Barely a mention (if at all) of Norwich, Brentford, Brighton, Southampton, Leicester, Villa, Wolves, and/or West Ham, for example.
These type of video is legit the best football content on RUclips. Props to these very busy guys making this for us
Love Roy. He's straight forward and spit the truth
Says a lot of words with zero detail. Not fit to lace Carra and Nev's boots punditry wise
Sucking up to Spurs lmao he’s washed sorry. Carragher is clear
Gary Neville is on strong juices. He needs to start doing a "stand up comedy"
Beautiful to see Neville gone completely full circle on Liverpool in the space of a couple of months. We all remember his absurd predictions at the start of the season and even at Christmas
What’s that then ???
@@Tricky181 he reckoned Liverpool were coming 4th at best I believe.
@@jamestodd1104 still remember him saying “something isn’t right” about Liverpool after 3 games whilst hyping up United
He still had the time to push there being a massive drop off after Klopp because Liverpool don't spend a s much as city Chelsea and United, as if united and Chelsea are consistently challenging for league titles because they spend so much
@@bri1085 To be fair, I see his reasoning. And he spoke about it earlier. With any other manager, Liverpool would constantly be battling for top four, if you compare the investments made by the other big clubs.
Probably failed to account for our horrendous injury list last season, which in all likelihood could not happen twice in a row.

Awesome podcast and love Gary, Roy and Jamie for doing this
It’s not a podcast
these fan/live Overlap shows really need to be a recurring thing
The smirk when carra mentioned Ted Lasso. I wonder what Roy thinks about the Roy Kent character. I’ve never seen anyone ask him questions about his opinion on it
That City fan's face when Neville highlighted their owner linked overpriced sponsorship hahahaha.
They always talk about city's sponsorships but neglect to mention Liverpool are still sponsored by standard chartered lmao, the ones who laundered money for terrorists
Big cheats mate
I’d have more respect for city fans if they just held their hands up and said we know they are dodgy but all we care about is winning…but it’s the pathetic way they try and justify it and make out they don’t spend that much money

Carra might be the only Sky Sports pundit who actually watches football like we do, I remember Gary saying he only watches games he gets paid to commentate or write about. He literally forgets scores of CL quarter final games UNITED were in. He Doesn't care same with Roy Keane, I know for sure he ain't watching no big CL games. Carra u can tell is an actual football fan. Il
I’d disagree about Roy. In his overlap interview with Gary he talked about watching el Classico while managing Sunderland and being annoyed when his assistants didn’t watch it. I just don’t think Roy cares about facts or stats.
@@willcarlson1120 That was in 8 years ago or so, that was MSN Vs BBC el classico those games were more watched than any game I can ever remember. Even as a United fan, I remember times when United were playing in the PL (against some bottom half PL team) and id watch THAT Clasico.
@@mrhussain9008 He was at Sunderland in the late 2000s, from 2007 to 2009/10 something like that, MSN and BBC were only media plattforms back then.
But I get what you mean. Carragher's knowledge about famous games and teams of the past is far superior to that of any other pundit apart maybe from Henry.
@@positional_play I think it's an English thing tbh. If I'm abroad somewhere and I'm talking to to an Italian etc football fan they know alot more about Football from other leagues. Most English football fans only seem to know about their own team and their rivals and are very dismissive about other leagues/players. Some of the shit on Talksport is crazy, like Sterling or Grealish is better Mbappé. It's a mental bubble they live in
Great episode yet again, but I would like them to have at least one where they don’t focus on any of the ‘big 6’ and recognise the other 14 teams in the league
No one cares about them
Best football debate show by a country mile. Massive fan from India ❤👏
The overlap is hands down the best thing on RUclips 💯💯💯
Roy Keane contributes so much to football. Would love to see him find a job that suits him and do well 🇮🇪
1. We want new people to come in for these episodes. Expressions, Goldbridge, Flex, the Don himself.
2. There needs to be talk about other teams ( Palace this season, Wolves )
3. A change in faces ( Hargreaves, Ian Wright ) is very welcome.
Pippa is representing AFTV so the Don probably chose not to come. Mark generally doesn't like these kind of things and I think Roy, Jamie and Gary are the ones genuinely interested in talking to the fans that why they here but I may be wrong, it just be because they popular and will get tons of views in comparison to the other pundits
@@l.sibisi7741 Your Mark point can be interpreted in another way. Yes, he might be uninterested, but that doesn't mean a representative of TUS or UV shouldn't take part in this.

Goldbridge supports Nottingham forest. You're aware of this yeah?
A whole 1 hr 31 mins, truly been spoilt 😍
The fact that Iwobi has played for 5 different Everton managers is mad! He signed for them in Aug 2019.
He's shite
So refreshing having a sensible Arsenal fan on this time.
Love this show/debate need to somehow get it to be more regular
Also love it to be a more inclusive argument like have all 20 teams equally debated and even championship.
I’m a Liverpool fan love that we have carragher representing us but be awesome if it was football wide debate rather than a top clubs debate
Roy Keane is a motivational speaker
All I hope is that Gary and his mates don’t start calling for Ten Hags head like they did with other qualified managers but kept quiet and were a big part of Ole getting more time than he deserved and putting us back 3-4yrs on top of that buying a relegation fodder CB and making him captain.
