Wow - this is great architecture. The interior with the stone and the wood work is stunning. And the detailing is both innovative and high quality. The organisation and usage of land so good. The outside areas and the landscaping are really good.
We’re so glad you appreciated the balance of materials, detailing, and thoughtful landscaping. It’s truly a testament to great design and craftsmanship.
I'm not sold on the exterior. The first wideview of the backside of the house gave me school building vibes. BUT, the interior is stunning! The woodwork and paneling in the kitchen, love love love, and styling has that simplistic beauty about it.
We could go together Theres free wifi, comfy sofas, great air conditioning We could even discuss the similar architectural aspects of these buildings that are so similar
I do love the finishing of the materials. when you look at it from the outside though, It looks quite rigid but i do understand. Sometimes the design needs to adjust depending on the climate and that affects the overall choice of materials
I don't understand why architects give the 'Wow View' to the bedroom? People wake up and leave the bedroom to socialise around a kitchen or other places in the house. At night there is no view so it's only 'Wow' during the daylight. So if you want people to fully enjoy your view, then they need to come during the day. No one goes to another person's house to talk in the bedroom for the view? The kitchen has a view of the neighbour's house across the street, that's why in the video they are always looking to the left. They should have given the kitchen the main view for socialising and the street view for the bedroom. And why do architects give up views for hallways? Look at the stairs it's in the centre of the house! While the living area is at the back which means your major view is more neighbour's houses. The only interrupted view is on the left and that's where the 'Wow View' is, why give it a transitional hall? However, this was an architects 'open brief' so it's all about him. If you choose to live in the northern beaches and have a connection to the beach, which is you actually go to and like the beach, then you'll want everyone to view it from the most central socialising space in the house the kitchen without having to twist your neck to see it.
We must be the "Exception that proves your rule"... To start every day we sit up in bed with a kickstarter coffee, and watch an Architecture video. That's where I am typing this. However, I agree with your thinking; our bedroom does not poach the best view, and if it did, it would be wasted... you don't need a view to watch a video! Many houses that do have stunning bedroom views are built across the slope, often only one room deep, so every room gets the benefit. You just have to be lucky enough to find the right site. Some would say that the best way to get a breathtaking bedroom view is to marry a supermodel!... Sorry girls! 😊
Maybe watch it again and pay attention. The same "wow" views are in the living areas and kitchen. The socialising areas have the 'wow' views. I don't understand why you'd choose to give a "wow view" to a kitchen anyway when the living area has it. If you're cooking you're not staring out the window at the views. You are cooking. Just because you socialise in your kitchen doesn't mean everyone else does.
@@PiefacePete46 Oh now that's the best way to wake up for sure, coffee in bed with an Architectural Video 100%! Often video camera lens's can't replicate the human expansive eye and often these videos make the view far less than what they actually are. So long as you love it that's really what matters. Awesome house none the less.
@@thelalanz73 Fair point. So long as it fits the client's flow. I would have moved the kitchen down to the left of the stairs and moved the dinner table up to the view. But as it is now it does make sense to have the kitchen and bench with seats where it is if the views work and by the sounds of it they do then great job. Don't really know unless you live there.
With view properties like this, the master bedroom must ABSOLUTELY have the wow factor view. Anything less is an architect who has failed to understand their job and influence the client, if the client has asked for something different.
Those imperfections at the stones and the sides of the stairs are annoying... It draws so much focus on the few dark spots on the stones... I like the stone though, I'd just look to pattern-match them...
That's the beauty of architecture, there can be various types suiting various people, places and needs. Imagine if everybody designed the same traditional architecture. What a boring world we'd would live in.
Weakest link would be stones chosen for it's wall...there's so little contrasting to the overall look, such a pity. Overall look is just too tamed and lacking excitement.

Finally, a house that fits my budget
🤣
Exceptional cabinetry - seamless throughout.
The standard of detail and workmanship evident here is eyewatering! Thank you for allowing us to share your home.
We're so glad you were able to enjoy a glimpse into this special home!

The cabinet and millwork company did a great job.
Successful conversion of a local airport terminal into a beach house. 😂
😂😂😂
Beautiful. Great Job!
This house/mansion has many elements to it. Most I liked, but regardless, the design and execution are top notch with exceptional attention to detail.
These shapes bring to this house something unusual and interesting. Interesting project!
sandstone: warm, neutral, organic. i'm in love.
only critique: 0:41 freeze-frame belongs in a horror film
Beautifully detailed
It looks more like a library or council building in a smaller town
My thoughts exactly
Would love to visit your library, then
We could go together
Theres free wifi, comfy sofas, great air conditioning
We could even discuss the similar architectural aspects of these buildings that are so similar

Very interesting 🤔
Perfect
What kind of stains are there on the marble finish?
2:34. A very good project and it really spoils everything.
Not stains they are part of the sandstone
I can’t seem to identify any of these songs in the background. Does anyone know what music that the Local Project is using? It’s beautiful.
Feels like a corporate structure, not a family home
no it dosnt
@@MrGoalie2012 yes it fucking does its awful
Yep
Pillow talk or architect talking about their work?
doesn't fall in my category of "beach houses", nice place though.
Would like to get Peter's take as the next door neighbour. Probably not good
💖❤️🔥💓💞💝

He’s giving David Wenham 😅
Хороший проект’ локаничный
I saw that house in GTA

That exterior is huge and hideous!
You need to mention cost of building
I don't believe its necessary. But take it a given that a 2 block site at Avalon = a shit ton of $$🤣
Museum
🥰
I don't know. It's giving scaled down 1990s Bond University campus vibes to me. Sorry.
totally. Its like a shit library.
What’s happened to traditional architecture?
That's the beauty of architecture, there can be various types suiting various people, places and needs. Imagine if everybody designed the same traditional architecture. What a boring world we'd would live in.
김혜령황약사관음보살 아버지 건축가 인사가 너무 많아서요 케임브리지박사님과 소르본느 박사님 이란 말이야
the colour scheme is so utterly beige and depressing. Why oh why... the place looks like a depressing brutalist library from the 60s devoid of soul
When the end times come, obviously we're going to eat the rich first.
Remarkably bland.
It's not what I would consider a "Beach House" rather a "MANSION ON THE BEACH" Not to my taste.
Interior, yes, exterior horrible.
What’s so offensive about the outside? The amount of light sandstone panels?
Not true
This the one, outside feels very corporate, like an office work studio or something, not very house warming or welcoming Idk how to explain it.
To you yes, that's why he designed it to his own liking...
Here's an idea, become an architect and build your own house then come show us😊
Really, i completely disagree
Love the walls
Weakest link would be stones chosen for it's wall...there's so little contrasting to the overall look, such a pity. Overall look is just too tamed and lacking excitement.
These people have an obscene amount of money. Sickening.
This felt quite underwhelming
Exterior is ugly as sin. Ew. Why???
So is this Edward Cullen's house?
