Jack Putter's Inside Story: Lt. Pendleton Vs. Mr. Igoe Boss Battle Mk.1

- A slightly edited scene from Innerspace (1987), one of my favorite sci-fi action-adventure '80s movies from the '80s of demented do0m a go go! Lt. Tuck Pendleton (Dennis Quaid) versus Mr. Igoe (Vernon Wells). Mr. Igoe is played by same actor who played Wez in 'The Road Warrior' and Bennett in 'Commando'. Added music is from Microcosm (Sega CD), Half-Life 2: Episode Two, and Half-Life 2: Episode One.
Oh, so *that's* why Ransik looked so fucked up.
Jokes aside, when I first saw the movie as a kid, this scene gave me nightmares for weeks and a childhood phobia of being swallowed whole that lasted far longer than I care to admit.
"...slowly digested over a...thousand years." 🤪
@@judsongaiden9878 Slave 1 dropped a sizemic charge into the sarclacc. what a beautiful sound..
This scene traumatized me as a child. I couldn't eat for days. it wasn't my best time. that being said. coming back and rewatching it as an adult. I've grown to understand stuff better., First off its just a movie. so its all Just Industrial Lights and Magic doing an amazing job on the stomach set. which was actually a dough boy pool with plastic bads. and other random stuff. Now for the character break down. Tuck was the only one crazy enough to take on this task of going inside rabbit. Then we meet Mr. Igoe. the only other person crazy enough to go inside another Human just to kill another person.... Look at the sadistic grin on his face. Its like he's mental. or has a screw loose. that smile. even the computer classifies him as malignancy a walking pile of cancer. considering he's killing people and taking pleasure in it throughout the movie. Now in the... o_ o Stomach scene.... Igoe could've decided. well Hell no... not doing that and evac back up the food pipe... But no he went after him. dangling over a pool of Stomach acid.. and the dude is still trying to kill him. Like total screw loose. He didn't know when to quit. and well... he got digested. scared the hell out of me.
Every character was perfectly cast. Who other than Vernon Wells (Wez from 'The Road Warrior' and Bennett from 'Commando') could have played Mr. Igoe?
@@judsongaiden9878 the digested scene was still too much for me as a kid
@@AloneInWonder2683 What did you think of Emil's toxic waste meltdown scene from Robocop and/or Paulie's Tenefly Viper meltdown scene from Street Trash? Both of those movies came out in 1987, same year as Evil Dead 2, Predator, and The Kindred. What a great year for movies!
I'm also an 80s kid it never traumatized me, nore did it affect my appetite. I'm the same now as when I was a kid, I don't like looking at saliva and snot when I'm eating, yet I CAN quite happily watch open heart surgery while having a meal...WEIRD 😂
The villains in this movie were outright retarted. They should have just waited for tuck to run out of air or blackmail him to get him to come out.
I don’t know what Igoe’s plan was there. He had to get that chip to re-enlarge. Or he would eventually run out of oxygen as well. It was a complete the job or die trying. The problem is…I don’t know how he was planning to get that microchip out of the pod. If he punctured the pod it should have outright exploded and become unusable. Does his space suit have a slot for the microchip? Did his pod have one? How was he going to get the chip with that massively clunky claw?
Just was a very poorly thought out plan…but what more can I expect from a carbon stamped 80s movie.
So what bugs me about this scene a little is how the Human stomach doesn't really look like that from the inside. Actually i don't think any stomach looks like that.
Fact. You're probably like me. Your left brain demands satisfaction just as much as your right brain, but the right brain is easier to satisfy.

You did your research!! xD Awesome video
Thankee!
Why did you add the music? It sucks!
Because I don't upload plain unedited scenes (plenty of others do, though). I make mashups and whatnot.

Back with my previous statement from my older account. Igoe Literally goes down as one of the Dumbest/Craziest Side Villains. Who in their right mind decides its a smart idea to fight inside a stomach.. Again he should've stayed silent. hitched a ride on the Kraken and waited until the thing was resized.
Jack still has Igoe's scuttled vehicle floating around inside him.
Geez what a boring fight scene compared to the script. I feel like this was such a wasted concept compared to what it could have been. Igoe literally just yanked on Tuck’s pod like twice. Not much of a battle.
Right?! We all want something more like a Gradius, Life Force, Microcosm, Silpheed, or Abadox-style boss battle!
@@judsongaiden9878 If you haven’t already. Do yourself a favor and read the original script for innerspace. It’s actually orders of magnitude better than the movie.
The battle between Igoe and Tuck features a high speed chase through the body, laser shootout, Igoe swimming through stomach acid and getting into into Tuck’s pod, followed by a straight up fist fight.
@@irondragondxd3836 Was it over-budget or something? If Igoe can withstand THAT, it almost makes him OP.
@@judsongaiden9878 I’m not sure if it was over budget or not. But in the script Mr. Igoe is actually an android. That’s why he seems so robotic in this film.
Though the stomach acid wouldn’t have killed Mr Igoe like you see in the film. Stomach acid really isn’t that powerful at all, even to something microscopic. It already takes 15 minutes alone for stomach acid to kill a bacterium actually. It’s just not the piranha solution that Hollywood likes it to be portrayed as.
@@irondragondxd3836 That's interesting! A vulture's stomach acid would be way stronger. As for Mr. Igoe being an android, that would have made him seem like too much a Terminator wannabe. As he is, he projects a Terminator-esque vibe, but in just the right way, and he technically is a cyborg.
Did you ever see 'Eve of Destruction'?
Little Ned Nederlander!!
Grey-M's boss battle theme from Microcosm would also work perfectly for the submarine battle against *MICHAEL BIEHN* in 'The Abyss' of demented do0m a go go! *\8-D*
Ok except for the crap add on music
It's a mashup. That's kinda the whole point. I don't upload plain ol' movie scenes.
The music actually fits it makes it sound incredibly 80s which is why I'll come back and visit every few months. Here's an idea. Get off your alt.
@@leavingRUclips-m6i Did yee ever play the Sega CD version of Microcosm? Just like Innerspace, it drew inspirado from Fantastic Voyage. Not the best "simulated 3D" shoot-em-up game, but the soundtrack was great. Very early '90s techno vibe.
@@leavingRUclips-m6i sorry. i have a problem with people telling me what to do. with that said, stop defending shit outputs
@burnikshrapnel maybe idk Don't repeat yourself 3 times over lmao. Hun If you don't like the vid. Splice your own clip and upload it. Don't come here and complain. It's not that hard.
