I had a 320hp 560SEC. AMG cams and exhaust. Went 0-100km/h (62mph) in 6.2. No launch or traction control or anything. Just flooring it from a stand still.
The 5.6L V-8 is the stock Mercedes engine. Given the $8K mentioned for AMG modifications on this car, they were likely confined to wheels and bodywork. I don't know what AMG charged to swap in their 6.0L engine in an SL, but in the E-Class Hammer cars (W124 / C124), the AMG-built engine was a ~$40K option.
Hi i just would like to correct the difference of the BHP he mentioned the original 560 SL BHP is 300 so if this 6.0 SL is 330 then the difference is 30 BHP thanks
The 107 was an effort to compete in the American Market with the Corvette. You get two tops, outboard disc brakes, independent suspension, seating for two, and the V8. It handled like a sedan that somebody had cut the back seat out of and then welded back together. Kind of like a slow, bad handling porch. Porch, a deck with an overhang on the back of the house. I still have one. They're not sports cars.
Strange set-up... Stock steering wheel and seats, euro lights in front, but US bumpers everywhere... And ugly-painted Pentas, which must be silver color 🤔

Yes sir. Back in the 80’s a Benz had perfect paint. The leather had a smell to it that never left the car.. (NEVER)

No its the stock US engine with 227hp. The European 560 engines had 279 or 300hp
