The whole video glorifies the Financial Planners and are underestimating DIY Investors. There are so many so called Financial Advisors I have seen have messed up the customers portfolio for their mean interest

@dhaval , you may have a point , I agree . But to say every apple is rotten is over generalisation and is not fully true . There are countless financial planners who do a fantastic job . Like every other profession, our profession, too, has its quota of black sheep . That is why regulations are there

Stock market investing and financial planning are two different things. Stock market investing is looking at the future, able to see how future will turn out. Let me give you an example, in 2013 Eveready battery was trading at 13 rupees. At that time only LCD and LED tVs and many other digital equipments were booming. Everything required batteries. Those who invested in Eveready in 2013 at 13 rupees, saw it moving to 300 rupees in just 2 years. Investment of 1.3 lakhs would have given 30 lakhs. When you know how to invest in market, financial planning will take care of itself.

Hi Dr. Bhat, I am an avid follower of all of your videos since the last 1.5+ years. I rarely miss a video of yours. Especially the ones related to NRI taxation. However, I feel that this video comes with a bit of conflict of interest :)

You are entitled to your views . If you are a do it yourself investor, probably it gives you a feeling that I am asking you to change . You can apply correctives on your own or seek external support.... as simple as this . Equally true is I am a practitioner of personal finance and I have every right to speak what I have observed.. whatever I spoke is based on my observations of people who reached out to me for assistance. Otherwise I would never know this . Please understand that DIY and financial planners co exist .. ..just to quote an anology, we cook our food at home as well as eat it out too .. ,

This vedio is all about convince or confuse strategy for Financial Advisor. I followed for regular MF and ULIP, over a period of 10 year both of them either in loss in some schem or returned less than FD, recently I exited from all of them. it is a bitter truth. As DIY I invested some money in the same period, now I am seeing return as 14% CAGR

@shyla222.. your observation looks very casual . Unless something is terribly wrong with you or your financial planner or both of you, what you said cannot happen . Something is really missing here . Now that you have made it public here, please provide clear data and I promise to tell you where is the mistake? Even if your financial planner is a newbie or even if you are an average DIY, what you say cannot happen for sure . The only possibility is you could be victim of one or more of points I have highlighted in this video

@thedevilal .. future is always uncertain and will remain so . However , within this realm, your experience can teach you to judge the future to a great extent and position you accordingly. On this judgement basis fund managers keep tweeking portfolios and rotate sectors
