Absolutely brilliant. You have convincingly dealt with all aspects on issues faced by a retired person. Nowadays there is a tendency to look down upon investing in insurance based guaranteed income (annuity) schemes. However, as you have rightly mentioned, one should keep it simple, so that the hapless wife gets all 'the benefits easily after the demise of her husband, without having to run from pillar to post and depending on her relatives.

All plans other than Annuity can be considered. Annuity plans only helping the agents as commission and the company which they are not paying even bank interest. And cost of mortality in many annuity plans are no use of aged people.

Excellent information. As per my judgment commercial real estate investment is the best . If some body try to develop it from the early stage of investment then with in 20 to 25 years it gives return for golden retirement life.
    Am I correct?

Many experts across various mediums recommend annuity plans as a retirement tool. How can an option that does not offer liquidity be a good investment option for retiree's. You will not be able to access your own money till such time that you are alive.

      Your reply is right
One cannot enjoy guaranteed annuity as well as access to the corpus say after just 5 or 10 yrs from the start of annuity. He should take care of emergency fund requirements ( Medical Insurance Policy is available upto 65 yrs age starting). I wonder why corpus amt back is required say at 65-70 yrs age!

A product, in this case annuity that does not allow me to liquidate my own money irrespective of my requirement cannot be a good product as per my view. Monika Halan a highly respected financial planner erudited the same in one of her podcasts. My view may be different from others but that's ok. Even a fixed deposit is a better option as I can liquidate my money as and when I want.

Rental income is the lamest advice one can give considering that rental yield is much lower than cost of acquiring real estate. Especially with broken legal system in India if someone occupies your house, refuses to pay rent then you’re doomed spending lacs for lawyers to vacate them

    Rental income OK
FD magic number is 5cr at 4% with 6% inflation payout then after 25yrs still left with 3cr corpus in FD.
Pension Plan NO (it’s a scam)
    MF Ok
I feel rental and FD is good enough for happy retirement & by keeping it simple.
