Love the simplicity and engenouity of this. This is what I will be doing using my atv. There is more pride in making this than buying a 4000.00 zero trun.
American ingenuity! Just brilliant! I presume that without a belly mower deck attached to the Ford, that it just serves duty with the attached (ex-push) mower. Or there is another dedicated rider to do the balance of the yard. Fantastic! Bravo!
Yeah, dad has another ride on to handle the rest of the yard. The Ford only serves the purpose you see in the video. He has a lot of time on his hands :)
I had a ditch like that when I first moved into my house . I found it easier to add dirt to the ditch and make it level enough to be able to use the mower deck on the riding mower . Cover the opening of the drain pipe with big gravels so water can still pass through and finish covering it with dirt till its almost level with the road pour a angled v shape ditch with concrete to allow the water to pass over to get to the other side . You only need a small angle of the ground for water to flow . You can also add a layer of drainage size gravel and then cover it with dirt and once the grass has grown back you can make it all most complete level and no water will cross the road . The ditch does no have to be that deep . My ditch ran over 100 yards from one end to the other and once I leveled it out with only a slight angle there was no water going over the road . Life is so much easier now that I can just mow with the riding mower and stay pretty much level as I mow .
Maybe one day swap out the gas push mower for an electric one, then wire the switch so you can run it from the tractor, that way it doesn't have to run all the time :D
Who knows. Dad didn't do this because mowing the ditches was a huge concern. He loved developing crazy things out of very little. And when his health wouldn't let him do much, this was a big project to keep him busy.

Nice looking FORD tractor!
This is awesome! Love it!!!

I liked this, it is a different design than what I was thinking about. I think you have a few good ideas.
What have you been thinking about doing? Dad loves new ideas and has plenty of equipment to try em :)
I would like an electric head string trimmer with a servo height control. the boom could be counter balanced.

My dad, who I lost this spring unfortunately, would prefer this :)
our ditches are made by the county to keep the water off the road.
@@andyjardine13 Sorry, my man. I'm sure he would have been an interesting guy to know.
Pretty dang clever I likes it
Sweet! Now I've got a new project.
That's awesome. I had the same idea to build one of those for my ditch out front even using a bowlen's push mower.
Mower Companion! :) What a deal!
Excellent
Brilliant!

Why not use a sickle bar attachment?
A FORD mower? It has been a long time since I seen one of those.
Love it!
Genius
Very Good!..
Very cool
Gold.
I need a push mower and lawn tractor
Love it
That's not a ditch, it a shallow swale.
Nice invention. However I thing a 54 inch zero turn would do the job in 1/3 the time.
But what’s the price difference between this and a 54 in zero turn?
