    As far a big box store items, Image is super stuff. It’s a little slow cause it works systemically through the root system. The one caution I’d add is that there are several versions. One in particular is very harmful for Bermuda (meant for centipede and StA) so folks need to read label carefully. But the very best product I’ve used for sedges is sedgehammer+. It’s faster while less aggressive in the turf. But not found in BBs.

    Thats my absolute fear with image. I have the concentrate and I rarely use it. It discolored and slow growth on my turf. Ortho usually give me good result. However I'm thinking to retry the image at 1/2 the recommend rate on a hidden section and see if it works.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  4 года назад +1

      I totally get it Robert. The grass has already recovered but the discoloration is irritating. I'm getting a lot of recommendations around Sedgehammer so I'll probably give that a try next time nutsedge resurfaces. Image definitely gets the job done with the nutsedge. The grass just pays a price for it. 😬🌿

    • @davidrich4721

      I’ve never been there, but I bet it’s really nice. My lawn is primarily Tall fescue and rye grass. We’re debating on going with the Ardent 15.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  4 года назад +1

      Nice David. Arde 15 is a great grass. Converting from tall fescue to it would mean killing off the rye and fescue and doing a lawn renovation. Big project, but the results could be pretty amazing. Let me know if I can help with anything. 😎

      Omar, for Nutsedge, IMAGE may be what you'll need to end up using. It's a really, really difficult weed to get rid of. If you apply IMAGE make sure to only make 1 pass. That's all you need to knock the nutsedge down. 👍

    I know this product is very good at its job, but looking back at the reviews online, there's a lot of people complaining that it killed their grass. There is a huge disclaimer that I believe most people miss that is causing this issue. The first bullet point on the application instructions says "Use only on well-established, non-stressed, label lawngrasses with a dense and uniform stand." If you don't have a healthy lawn that is capable of recovering itself post application, then of course it will kill off what grass you have. This is why I cannot stress enough: READ THE LABEL!

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  3 года назад +1

      Hi Macinac. You make a good point about using on well-established lawns at the correct rate. Most people overapply the product and don't water it in (Image) per the instructions which is why they often get a subpar result. Appreciate you chiming in sir. Thanks for watching.

      @@RonHenry , hey I appreciate that. I too live here in Ga. (Cumming) and have been thinking about putting some vids on the Tube. I've had a small lawn care service business now for about 11 years and have used several different brands/types of reel mowers (locke/gravely, TruCut-of course, Trimmer-never again, and the new recently purchased 25 inch Mclane Greenskeeper- which I'm regretting). But I love talking lawn care with anyone that will lend an ear. Thanks again for the effort and time that you put into your vids.

      Chad, You absolutely should start your channel man. As a lawn care professional, I'm sure you'll have a perspective that's different to enthusiasts like me. Any knowledge that helps people improve their lawns is good. I've been toying with the idea of a Toro Greensmaster but the pricing on them is astronomical. I'm also not sure if my turf is quite smooth enough for a greens mower.

    • @chadwhitmire6183
      @chadwhitmire6183 4 года назад +1

      @@RonHenry , yes your lawn does have some "interesting terrain" and that slope on your front lawn will give you a workout with a cylinder type reel mower as well. I'm sure you have checked out the "Swordsman " brand cylinder type of reel mowers. Their a company out of the Czech republic but they actually have a distributor here in Buford (I recently discovered them myself). One of their top of the line mowers goes for about 3,100 i think. This past week I took a tour of their shop and was very impressed with their product. Check out their You Tube channel Reel Rollers and other videos in regards to the Swordsman mowers. I think you'll be impressed by them.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  4 года назад +1

      I'm checking them out now Chad. I'm thinking there has to be a major difference between the Swordsman and the Toro due to the price difference. I'm guessing the Toro is designed for heavier duty since designed for regular golf course use?
